(Glen sat on the chair in the apartment. The bags were packed, they were leaving in the morning, but she was still in bed. In fact, she'd only gotten up to eat (Three times a day), shower (Twice a day) and use the restroom (Last count unknown.) She didn't respond when he spoke, and it was getting tiring. Again, the camera crew was here and today they decided to set up on Glens orders. But she still hasn't moved. The sound tech made his way over.)
"Is she dead?"
"God I hope not. Ayla? You alive?"
"....."
"Her chest is moving, so she has to be breathing. Anyway, are you ready?"
"Yeah, we're good."
"Ayla, the crew is ready for you."
"......"
"Look, you wanted to be on TV, now is your chance. Think about all the people that will see this."
"......"
"I don't think she cares."
"Oh, she does. She's just moping about losing her chance to be the first nCw Women's Champion."
"I am not.."
"She's alive! We ready to go?"
(Someone off camera says something in the affirmative.)
"Ok, they're ready for you Ayla. Time to start talking."
(She picks her head up off the bed, the bathrobe almost falling off her. Only to reveal she was still dressed in her wrestling gear. But knowing her, she would have multiple sets of gear.)
"I.. am.. not.. moping.."
"Then why are you still in bed?"
"Because.. It hurts to stand.."
"Come again..?"
"I'm in pain you uncaring jackass! How many times must I say it?"
"Once, in a volume in which more than cats can hear. You didn't take the pills they gave you to alleviate the discomfort?"
"I.. uhh.. dropped them in the sink.."
"Well, that was helpful..."
"SHUT UP!"
(Her voice cracked at that one. Showing she was on the verge of tears. Either from embarassment or just pure discomfort. Or, at least he thought so until she stood up quicker than he thought she was capable. No tears in her eyes, just pure rage.)
"Ok, ok, ok... calm down."
"I need a damn massage, that's what I need. I also need you to stop talking so this pounding will go away."
"I ordered you a massage. You sent him away. I believe your exact words were.. 'You don't look like George Clooney, go away.'"
"That's cuz you ordered a fat sumo wrestler guy!"
"Eric Shiki is a nice hawaiian man who has fifteen years experience in therapeutic massage, and a nice disposition too. But I guess that's not good enough for the Goddess Ayla St. James."
(She stared knives at him. He just shook his head and threw up his hands in a gesture of giving up. She turned to the camera.)
"Do you see what I have to put up with?"
"I was quite content being in Canada, Missy. I'm only here for you."
(She paused, about to lash out again, and then decided against it.)
"Just cut your promo. We can argue later."
(She sighed.)
"Fine."
(She set herself straight, facing directly into the camera.)
"Look, there's a lot to this business I don't really know. I wasn't quite prepared for the aftermath of a wrestling match. All my joints have ached every day, a feeling I haven't felt in quite some time. But I'm learning as I go, and working through it. See, I don't know much and like a hard working person I accept and admit that. Women like Cassandra Ryan, like Roxi Johnson and Maria Williams should try to help educate women like me. But, that's asking these people to be civil and selfless and well.. we all know that isn't happening. So, rather than simply waiting for someone to take a shine to me and teach me what I want to know, I'm just going to be my old unoriginal self and steal the stylings of one Cassandra Ryan, if only to secretly mock her. A fact I doubt she'll get because all she's hearing as I'm speaking now is the lines from Days of Our Lives. So, snooty bitches assemble!
Cassandra Ryan
Really, your big point is that I'm unoriginal? What about me is unoriginal? How many actors do you know in this business? I'm not an actor wannabe, I had a well paying job where I was on TV everyday. You can mock it all you like, but they've been on TV for years, so someone is watching them. I'm not a wrestler wannabe either. As I currently possess a wrestling contract and am employed by the same company you are. So, what is it really? My haircolor? My style of dress? Those are all ascetic things. If that's the only thing you have to insult me for, then maybe you need a new career. Or at least some speech lessons. Point is Cassie. We're just two women in the same boat. We had a match in a tournament, and we both lost. So how does that make me a wannabe and you somehow this great original? Then it hit me."
(Snap of the fingers.)
Lance
"You're entire career is based off of his. I came here on my own violition, but you signed up because you thought it would be easy to ride his coattails. You don't see anything else except what you want to, and it doesn't matter what anyone else says. That's how the 'Legend' Lance Ryan operates, and you mi a'mour, are falling into the same boat. Come at me with all your hardcore threats Cassie. They don't affect me like you think they do. Promise to break my face, just like Emma did. What did it get her? The same beating you're promising me. I may be hurting a bit now, but I can promise you won't find me as fragile as you're expecting. You married a Canadian, you should know how tough we are, growing up in a frozen tundra.
Ashley Starr
I'm not going to demean you like Cassandra, because frankly I'm not that shallow and insecure. Because I look at you, I read what's available about you, and I see just another woman like me trying to get by. Maybe you take the easy road with the whole tempting men thing, but that's not for me to judge you by. I'll do all my judging of you when the bell rings on Friday night. But I'm expecting you to prove that uppity bitch I already covered wrong, so at least do that score. If you can't, well I might just decide to assist her in removing you from this burgeoning business. And I think I might almost feel bad about it.
Roxi Johnson
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I'm going to repeat myself and say that Roxi is just leeching off of Ricky. And you'd be wrong. You see, I've actually been planning this for a while. I went to wrestling school, I learned how to wrestle. I didn't just walk off the set one day and say to myself.. 'Hey superstar, it's time for a career change.' No, I thought and planned it out. Because I'm not an idiot, despite what my hair color tells the snooty upper crust of this division. And yes, I'm going to keep taking shots at Cassie, whether she notices or not. But I watched Roxi wrestle the Bukkake man, and that was what made me pick this company out of hundreds. So, I'm not going to beat Roxi just because I can. I'm going to beat Roxi because she is the pinnacle of what I aspire to be. A woman who does what her man does, but not because of it. A woman who supports and has the support of said man, because they both know the struggle. So sorry Rox my Sox.. but this one is for me doll.
Maria Williams
Now here comes the second leeching lecture. Nobody respects Joe Everyman, at least no-one that I asked when I met the roster over the weekend, because he's a lazy, inconsiderate ass****. That's a fact Maria. That's the man you married in the eyes of God and in front of all your family. A man you pledged to love no matter what until the end of time. I'd ask for a refund if I were you. But you, it seems to me you're just falling in line and stepping behind him for the umpteenth time. Maybe you'll prove me wrong, but maybe just left with your other chances.. slim and none."
(She smirks, a look of complete disdain and confidence.)
"But, let them say what they want about me. I'll just take their verbal berratings and hit back with the same razor wit they wished they had. I'll just bear their assaults and hit back with my training and dedication. Because I am the best woman I can be. I will prove I am the best woman on the nCw Roster. And I will prove..
I'm the best face you've never seen...
Deal with it.."
(She strides off frame as the scene fades.)
"Is she dead?"
"God I hope not. Ayla? You alive?"
"....."
"Her chest is moving, so she has to be breathing. Anyway, are you ready?"
