We are looking at the NCW website, more specifically the latest videos to have been uploaded to the site. The first video is a recap of the controversial ending to the Fatal Four Way match at Trauma, where Lance Ryan got screwed and then fired by Chris Diamond. As we scroll down past this video and its description, we reach the second video. This video is titled "Trouble in the Star's" and the description tells us it's a video involving Paul Star. The video is clicked on, and after buffering for a few seconds, starts to play.
The camera is situated backstage, behind the entrance curtain which leads into the arena. In the corner of the video, there is text indicating that the video was recorded directly after the Fatal Four Way main event at Trauma. Angel's music can be heard playing, as the camera keeps it's focus set on the curtain. After a few seconds, the curtain moves slightly, then moves swiftly to one side. From behind the curtain steps Paul James, with a confused expression on his face. Draped over Pauls shoulder is his cream coat. Paul is mumbling angrily to himself as he walks up to the camera. As Paul walks further away from the entrance curtain, the camera tries its best to stay in front of him.
" Damn it! What did he have to ruin the match for? "
Paul continues mumbling as he walks up to a waste bin. Paul kicks the bin and it falls over, its contents flying out all over the floor. Paul walks by the newly scattered rubbish, still stomping toward his destination. As Paul approaches his intended destination, Shane Hunt steps out in front of him. Paul stops dead in his tracks so that he doesn't walk right into Shane. Paul looks up at the much taller Shane, while wearing the same confused yet angry expression. Shane looks straight back down at Paul, a much calmer expression on his face.
" Mate, I'm really not in the mood. Can you get out of my way so I can just pack up my stuff and get out of here? "
Shane slowly shakes his head from side to side.
" No Paul, you're not going anywhere until we talk and you calm down. "
Paul lets out a sigh, not interested in talking things over with Shane. Paul's voice raises, as he responds to what Shane said.
" I lost another match. Chris Diamond may have interfered in the match and cost Lance Ryan the win, but he cost me the win too. Angel managed to get the pin, while I was left wondering what the Hell was going on. By the time I did realise, it was too late and I'd lost the match. Now, are you going to get out of my way or not? "
Shane stays calm as he tries to talk Paul round.
" Once again Paul, no. I won't move out of the way. Now you listen to me Paul. You didn't win the Fatal Four Way, there's no denying that. You didn't pin Lance Ryan, but at the same time you didn't get pinned yourself. "
Paul raises an eyebrow at Shane, letting him know that his words mean nothing right now. He then gives his opinion on the end of the match, not dropping the volume of his voice for one second.
" So I didn't get pinned. so what?? I wasn't the man doing the pinning, and that's what's got to me. I should have been the one pinning Lance Ryan, not Angel! Chris Diamond not only screwed Lance, but he screwed me too! I'm glad Lance beat the crap out of him after the match, because he deserved it. "
" If Chris Diamond hadn't got involved and ruined the match, I'm sure you would have gone on to win it. You trained so hard all week, and I had every confidence in you going into that match. Seriously Paul, you looked great out there until the match was ruined. In my eyes, the moment Chris Diamond got involved, the match was over. That means I don't see it as a loss for you. I see it as an excellent showing against some of the best wrestlers NCW has to offer. "
Shane stops talking, and there's a moment of silence as Paul mulls over all Shane just said. Very slowly, a smile crosses his face. Paul responds again to Shane, but this time he's in agreement with Shane.
" You know what mate, you're right. I did wrestle well, and could easily have won if the match had continued without interference. I agree that Chris Diamond's involvement made the ending meaningless. "
Shane is happy that Paul has finally seen the match the way he does.
" It's good to hear you've finally come round and realised you wrestled brilliantly tonight. You went toe to toe with two of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in NCW, and you showed them you mean business. At Crossroads, you need to do exactly the same when you face Andrew Jacobsen for the X-Division championship. "
Paul nods his head, knowing what Shane said is true.
" Mate, I couldn't agree more with you. The Fatal Four Way match was a big match for me, but my match at Crossroads will be my most important so far. Wrestling for a championship belt, no matter which it is, is always a big thing. The X-Division championship has been held by some great wrestlers, including Angel. That means it's a big step in the right direction if I win it. I'll be watching Andrew Jacobsen's match against Gib tomorrow evening, and taking note of the way he moves and his characteristics. I'm definitely not going to take him lightly, because I know how good he is in the ring. "
Shane cuts in as Paul finishes his sentense.
" We'll both have to watch his match against Gib over and over. I need to know all about him too, so I know how you should train against him. "
" That sounds like a good plan. I know I'm going against Jacobsen at Crossroads, but I do wish him luck against Gib. I've been in the ring against Gib, so I know how hard it is to even start mounting an offense against him. Jacobsen just needs to try his best, as he'll have two very intrigued viewers watching his every move. I don't know about you Shane, but I'll be routing for Jacobsen to knock Gib down a peg or two. "
Shane lets out a light chuckle.
" What? "
" You, with your respect... In time, I'll force that respect out of you and make you more like me. "
" What, a grumpy old sod?? "
Paul starts laughing, as Shane rolls his eyes and lets out a deep sigh.
" Watch it, you! I may be older than you and I may have an injury, but I can still kick your ass in training... Now, let's get out of here. I'm sure you could do with a cup of tea after your match. "
Paul violently nods his head up and down.
" Hell yeah! You know me well. "
" Right then. I'll meet you in the car park in five minutes. "
Paul smiles happily with the thought of a nice cup of tea circling around his head.
" If there's a cuppa involved, make that two minutes! "
Shane snickers. He takes a step to the side, allowing Paul to finally pass by him. Paul is quick to do so, and enters the locker room in front of him as the camera fades to black and the video reaches its ending. In the now black box where the video was playing, a button situated in the centre reads "Replay video".
