Act 1: Mary Poppins?
The scene opens on Emma's room where she is getting ready for the formal dinner that her parents were putting on. We find Emma hanging onto the bedpost as her mother pulls on the black corset strings that Emma is wearing, and tightening them as Emma gasps for air.
Lydia: This is going to be such a wonderful night. You're father and I are so proud of you, and we know you'll do well on Sunday night against Zelda.
Emma: Th- thank you mother. Can you loosen the strings please? I - I can barley breathe.
Lydia: Oh you're fine my sweet. I think that will just about do it. Go and get your dress on, and we'll see you in just a bit.
Emma: A- alright. I'll be there in half a tick.
Her mother kisses her on the cheek and heads out of the room, as Emma sits down on the edge of the bed, trying to get in a breath, as a knock comes to her door. She slips on the long red and black dress on, and walks to the door slowly taking shallow breaths with every step that she took. She answers the door and there stood Dibbler with Europa behind him. Emma smiles softly, as she leans against the door frame.
Dibbler: Oh dear Lord, your mother did up that damn corset again didn't she?
Emma nods, as she turns around, and undoes the zipper slightly, letting Dibbler to undo the strings just enough for Emma to breath, as Europa sighs. What women would do to get a figure. Emma lets out a loud breath as Europa and Dibbler step inside her room.
Emma: What is it?
Europa: Zelda is what. She did a promo and you need to check it out.
Dibbler: Yes, she didn't have anything very pleasant to say about you or the match for that matter.
Emma grabs the TV remote, and turns on the TV that hung above the fireplace in her room, and watches Zelda's promo. Emma turns the TV off as the promo ends, and tosses the remote onto the bed, pacing the room.
Emma: She called me Mary Poppins?
Dibbler: I know, it seems childish to me. Of course if I didn't know better I think she was nothing more than a child. A mature woman wouldn't sink to calling a true British lady such as yourself Mary Poppins.
Europa: I think it's funny.
Dibbler: You would.
Emma: I can't believe that she went that low. I mean how immature is that? I did what I had to when we were partners. I knew that she was a threat to me, and still is until I get my hands on the Women's Title this Sunday night.
Dibbler: That's the right way of thinking. Zelda isn't going to give up that title that easy. She's going to make you work for it, but I know that you can do it.
Emma: Thank you Dibbler. I know she's going to let just walk in there, have her lay down, and me win the title. I plan on putting her through hell and back to get my hands on that title on Sunday night.
Europa: And I'll be there to help you if she gets out of hand.
Emma: Thank you Europa. Why don't you two head downstairs and let everyone know that I'll be there in just a second?
Dibbler: Of course. Come Europa, if I know Edmund, he'll be serving brandy before dinner.
Europa: Why didn't you say so sooner? Let's go!
Emma just smiles as Dibbler and Europa head out the room leaving her alone once again. Emma walks over to the small vanity and sits down in front of the mirror, looking back at the camera, with her dark eyes sparking.
Emma: Do you ever listen to yourself talk Zelda? I mean none of the video game references mean nothing to me, and to what is going to happen in the ring on Sunday night between us. I've never chased anyone's coat tails, and let me tell you I might not be as experienced as you are, but I don't care! I have won my share of matches here, and proven myself to be one of the best in the company. Now I have a chance, no, the privilege to get a shot at the Women's Title, that you have around your waist. Most feds won't even let a woman fight because we are simply eye candy, but you should feel privileged to have that title, but you don't event seem to care that you have it. You are a truly a diva that has gotten in over her head, and when it comes time to defend the title, you are going to choke on your own words.
Emma smiles softly, as she picks up a set of ruby earrings that are done in a fan style, and starts to place them in her ears, followed by a necklace of ruby and diamonds to match it.
Emma: You know this reminds me of Zelda? Have you ever heard of a story called Alice in Wonderland? My mother read it to me every night before I went to bed, and I would always picture myself as a beautiful version of the Red Queen... and now I see myself as the Red Queen, and you as the young girl Alice when she was the White Queen on the chess board. The game was brutal, and of course Alice won, but not this time Zelda! Sunday night you will lose that little piece of Gold that you hold so close to you!
Emma just looks back at the camera, with the rubies and diamonds sparkling in the light of the room. She gets to her feet, and smiles to herself.
Emma: This time Zelda you will be the one on your back, while I walk away with the Title in hand. I'm not going to play any games with you on Sunday night, because there is a lot at stake, and neither one of us are willing to lose. I'm going to prove to not only you, but to the rest of the Diva's in the NCW that I truly am the rightful Women's Champion, and that I will always be the best. So bring everything that you have to the ring Sunday night, and see if you can stop me! I'll be ready, but the question is will you be ready to face me? See you soon Zelda.
Emma laughs as she makes her way to her bedroom door, and heads out of the room, leaving us to wonder what the rest of the evening has in store for the young Dutchess, as the scene fades to black.
