{We open up to where we left Zelda, several hours later, still laying with her back on the floor staring up at the ceiling of her room. She doesn’t even seem to be blinking as the streaks of tears are stained down her cheek. Foot steps from the distance vibrate the ground as Adam walks back into the room, he stands there with an aggravated look creepy across his face.}
Adam: Zelda!
{She doesn’t bother to give any kind of reaction to her brother.}
Zelda: What?
Adam: I’m beginning to think that this wasn’t over some game….
Zelda: Nice observation Captain Obvious.
{Adam rolls his eyes and huffs as he turns around and looks to head right back from the way he came. He stops suddenly and sighs. Adam walks back into the room and stands over his sister laying in the floor.}
Adam: Look… are you going to talk to me, or are you just going to lay there for the rest of your life screaming at me and throwing insults my way?
Zelda: I don’t know.
Adam: You don’t know!? Get up…..
Zelda: No…
Adam: Fine… but consider that me warning you…
{Adam reaches down, takes Z by each of her arms and pulls her straight off the floor, he stands her up and lets go she begins to limply fall right to the floor. Adam catches her and holds her back up, he gives her a harsh stare and Zelda decides to stand on her own power. She lowers her head, refusing to look at her big brother.}
Zelda: it’s nothing…I just want to be alone ok.
Adam: I’m not going to sit here and watch you wallow in your own self pity any more.
Zelda: I just want to be alone…. As always.
Adam: What has gotten into you? Wait… you didn’t…..
{Zelda falls back to the floor, this time sitting Indian style on the ground as Adam can’t believe it.}
Adam: How many times am I gonna have to tell you, those jerk offs don’t matter.
Zelda: Just made me feel so worthless…. Again.
Adam: Look, you’re not worthless! Just look at all you’ve done, in just a short amount of time. You have been nearly unstoppable. You’ve captivated everybody who’s seen you, and don’t hold me to this, but I believe you are the youngest World champion ever, I’d say that’s impressive.
Zelda: But what is that worth?
Adam: What is that worth? Are you going all Phil Jackson Zen on me now?
Zelda: It’s just, what happens if I can’t rely on this anymore? What happens if I’m all used up and nobody wants me anymore, then what?
Adam: Are we talking about wrestling or being a hooker?
Zelda: Adam, that’s not funny.
{Adam, hard pressed to find anything else to say, decides to flop himself on the floor right in front of his sister.}
Zelda: And I may have ruined your marriage, what else can I eff up?
Adam: Look Zelda, you’re the first ever…. EVER… World champion. No matter what happens from right now, nobody will be able to take that away from you. You are something, you’re still young, you still haven’t reached your potential yet, just think where you can be when you have some veteran experience. You could end up in the Hall of Fame before I do.
Zelda: No way….
Adam: Yes Zelda, I believe in you, and I don’t care what anybody tries to tell you. You’re my sister and nothing will be able to hold you down as long as you believe what I believe. Got it?
Zelda: Yeah… I guess.
Adam: Don’t let this stupid crap keep you down, ok?
Zelda: Ok.
{Adam stands up to his feet and lowers his arm to help Zelda up as well.}
Adam: And clean up in here..... it looks a little Dirty Dealish in here.....
{Adam turns and heads towards the door once more, as he does something catches his eye. He looks at the top of Zelda's dresser and picks up a pair of "undergarments" he lifts up the whitey tightyesque women's briefs and see's a big picture of Falcon's face on the buttocks.}
Adam: What the hell is this?
Zelda: he's cute.....
Adam: He sells T-Shirts too you know…
Zelda; Yeah but then he wouldn’t be close to my…
Adam: That’s quite enough.
{Adam shakes his head as he exits and the scene fades to black.}
What will the world be saying about Zelda Knite years from now? Will anybody even remember my name? Will they know of my accomplishments? Is this all worth it? Yes… yes it is, because it’s what I want to do. I hate to answer my own questions, but there is nobody else around, and we must have answers.
Look Emma, all this back and forth, all this I’ll beat you, no I’ll whip you crap is going to be all for not in the end, because no matter what one of us is going to be right and the other is going to be wrong. There is no fighting that, no matter how hard one of us tries, the other is just going to come out the winner. You tried your little tricks to get in my head, and I tried my swift wit to try and bring it right back to you. When the bell rings Sunday, none of this will matter anymore, all that will be lift is two women with one goal in mind, walking out of Crossroads with the Women’s championship.
I’m trying to walk out with the title still in my arms, never having left, while you’ll have the harder task of trying to rip it from my hands. You’ll be trying to win something that I’ll be fighting for with everything I have, something that I care for deeply, something that symbolizes everything that I trained for, everything that I’ve worked for since I was seventeen. You think this will be some cake walk? No, of course not, you act as if I’m some sort of grizzled veteran who has spent her entire life in the ring, no, you see I outdate you in NCW by what? Two weeks? Yeah that’s a big difference in experience there sweety.
You better come to Crossroads ready to play, ready to get your hands dirty, because this is the real deal, this is the big event. There is no pause button, there is no Contra code for extra lives, it’s going to come down to me and you, and this one match. Two women, with the same goal, with the same desires, with the same dreams, who are both willing to put everything they have on the line for it.
With all that said, there really isn’t much more I can say to you, there isn’t anything I’ve said that you probably haven’t heard from countless sources. I’m just going to say good luck, yeah you attacked me and tried to break my spirit, but I can understand why, I know how you felt when you decided to pull the preverbal trigger, and I can’t say that I completely blame you for it. I was thinking the same thing, I had a fight with myself if I should do the same, so we’re good, except that for revenge… at Crossroads, for your hopes, for your dreams, for your desires, it’s going to be…… GAME OVER.
Adam: Zelda!
