The gym at Ravenwood, PA was owned by a good friend of the wrestlers Charlie Smiles and Michael Faust. A couple of Promos had been cut there but this was the first time Michael had used it. The large man was in full ring attire minus the mask and face paint. His opponent was the other nCw roster member, Charlie Smiles. Charlie was in his practice gear but the green tips of his black hair gave him away like Michael's size gave him away.
"Alright, you think you got his style down?"
"Yeah...but I swear I've seen it somewhere else. Or something similar."
Charlie shrugged and they began sparring. The two locked up and Charlie immediately knew that was a bad idea. Michael immediately snatched his sparring partner up and tossed him high above his head. He caught him on the way down and slammed Charlie squarely down, hitting the Nightmare. Michael got up but Charlie started to grown.
"...twinkle, twinkle...little bat...."
"Sorry man. You OK?"
"No...I think my spleen is now where my kidney's were."
"Well...what happened to your kidney's?"
Charlie looked up at Michael and slumped back down.
-----------------------------------------------
Doctor Dream stood in the ring alone. His mask and scrubs were nice and clean.
"Dave, It's time for me to tell you a bed time story. It's nap time. Once upon a time, there was a wrestler who though he was the ****. Well, his first match, he won and his confidence got boosted. He was feeling good about himself."
Dream started to walk around in the ring and the camera followed him.
"His second match he fared just as well. This wrestler started to believe he really was the best there ever was. No one could ever top him. He was as 'Epic' as 'Epic' could be."
He stopped at the corner post and looked down. His arms resting on the turnbuckle.
"But ya know, all good fairy tales come in threes. The young punk wrestler came in and looked to the ring, c0cky and bold. He stepped in the ring but then something happened. His opponent stepped in the ring, and beat him down."
Even beneath the mask, you could tell that the 'Good' Doctor was smiling.
"I don't know what your win loss record is Dave, but I know you like to think of yourself as 'Epic'. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, this isn't the first time I've had to tell this story. Probably won't be the last. There's a moral to this story. 'Pride Cometh before the Fall'. Trust me boy, your going straight for the fall."
Dr. Dream stepped back and raised his arms. The lights started to dim and he smirked once more.
"Friday, when they ring the bell, Nap Time is over. Trust me, on Friday, you will have a Nightmare."
The camera faded away and Dr. Dream chuckled.
"Sweet Dreams."
-----------------------------------------------
Michael helped Charlie up and the smaller man shook his head.
"Seriously, are you alright?"
"Yeah...I'm fine...a little winded but you landed straight on top of me just as I hit the ground. What do you weigh now? Three hundred?"
"Two-ninety."
"If you can get a hold of him straight from the get go you'll be fine. Just...do me a favor...don't try and kill me next time we spar."
Michael chuckled and patted his hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Fair enough. Ready to go again?"
Charlie chuckled lightly and fell over.
