The scene opens inside the same musty gym we’ve seen Evans training in time and time again. He walks out of what looks to be locker-room, baggy blue jeans; a tight fitting black shirt and a green army style jacket with a hood are draped over his impressive frame. He smirks at the camera and folds his arms over his chest.
“Well it’s about time isn’t it? After all my opponents have decided to come out and verbally ejaculate over the NCW airwaves in quick succession like some kind of demented circle jerk on the set of a low-rent porno. We have three very different men taking three very different paths. Severe Payne, a man who has perhaps the most awesome name ever created turned up just a few hours after collision went off the air, Charlie Velez was up next and I have to say he has the most hyped debut of any man I’ve ever seen in NCW.”
“And there was of course Doc. Someone who said so much but meant so little. But I’d like to address Mr Payne. You see he seems to be rather angry. Severe, you need to let the anger go my friend, it won’t take you anywhere except into a pit of confusion where you may never pull yourself out. You seem to be an honourable man running down to help out Atreyu, so I will be glad t0o shake your hand, win or lose, after the match....”
Evans smiles to himself and rolls his shoulders, one of them obviously sore after the workout.
“The next man is someone I’ve heard about many times, not just from my friend and mentor AJ, but also from being a lifelong fan of this great sport. Charlie Velez welcome to NCW. I have to say that your debut and your impending arrival to suspense is exciting for me, I have been a fan of yours for years, I’ve watched you come through other companies and become a star. And now here you are in NCW. Well I welcome you and I know what you’re thinking, you pulled my punk card. You brought up my loss to Machado....”
“What can I say he caught me?. See Charlie, or Mr Velez,, I’m still new to wrestling on a stage as big as this and I’m aware that I cannot win all the time. I know this, I don’t question it, in fact I applaud Machado for beating me and respect him greatly. Respect seems to be something lacking in your elite mind. Because men like you and Doc and even my mentor have been badmouthing each other and other people for so long. But why?. Why the chest beating and why the over confident bull****?. I mean come on now Mr Velez, even though you are new to this company we all know who you are, so did you really have to insult me?, an up and comer?. Couldn’t you have taken the high road and congratulated me on the effort?. “
“I guess not, maybe it’s an insecurity issue...”
Evans laughs to himself.
“And speaking of insecure. Doc. That was without a doubt the most pointless, long winded promo I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. “I let people down blah blah I’m from Glasgow blah blah” we get it. Then you did something that kind of erked me. You brought up how you’ve beaten AJ. Well, first off I’m not AJ, I’m Jason Evans, and second of all when did you last face AJ?. How do you know if you could keep up with him now?. You don’t. Just like you don’t know what I can and can’t do. You acknowledged that I’m not AJ but you didn’t do it in a way that was indicative of admitting you don’t know a thing about me.”
“You’re over confident and too ****y. I guess I’ll have to take you down a peg....and I guess that this match will show the world I can keep up with two men like yourself and Charlie Velez....I look forward to it and it’ll be an honor...”
Evans bows out as the scene fades
