The Lord giveth and the Lord hath taken away...
The Lord gave you every gift in the world Gib. You had your strength, size, resolve, you had a family, fame, fortune, you had everything, you were what everyone wanted to be.
You had it all, but in the end it wasn't enough. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and thats what you craved. Be it the high you got from the drugs, the rush you got from the one night stands, or the buzz you got from the drink, you just wanted more. You wanted to reach up and feel what it is to be God like, but in the end, like the over zealous angel himself, you fell, crashing back down to the Earth and you lost everything.
Everything you had, everything you worked for, everything you were was taken away.

And you turned to the devil within, the one on your shoulder, whispering in your ear that all you had to do to get it back was maim, murder and destroy everything in your path. You gave in, instead of digging deep and keeping the faith you cast everything aside and donned the persona of Homeless Harold. You embraced the beast we all have within and you sent this monster out into the world to get revenge.
You wanted everyone to pay for what happened to you. You wanted everyone to feel what you felt. You wanted this world to know the pain in your heart. Never once did it really occur to you that it wasn't god's fault or the world's, it was all your fault.
Every hardship, every struggle, every single bad thing that has ever come your way was caused by you. You could of changed it Gib, you had the power to keep her in the house, to love your son as he deserved, to be the Champion we all wanted you to be. You had the power to rock our world's but instead you chose the easy road. You chose the Devil's Road.
You chose the Devil you knew.
Homeless Harold.
Typical enough for me
That I burn inside in agony
What power will enable me
To bury my mission
The hunger coming over me
As I learn to hide the agony
To make a final remedy
To close the door once and for all
You tried to stand up, you tried to rid yourself of him, you tried to be the man you were but you couldn't do it Gib. In the end, when faced with someone greater than yourself, you caved.
This was all a test Gib, to see how much you had really learned, to see how in control you really were, to see if you were ready for salvation.
Your not ready Gib, not yet.
You have yet to suffer enough for me. Your sins have yet to be repaid in full. You have yet to know what it is to be the one with a monster hunting you down.
Like I've said before, mask or not, I'm not afraid of you. I wanted the monster. I wanted Homeless Harold because I knew you weren't strong enough. I knew you didn't have it in you to overcome Savior X. I knew how weak you were Gib and I exposed it. I created the crack in the armor that Harold turned into a crater.
So now here we stand, David and Goliath.
Or are we?
Am I David, or are you?
Thats the question you need to ask yourself Gib. Are you stepping into that ring Sunday Night to end my career, to get revenge for what I've done or are you still doing this for the same old selfish reasons?
Have you learned your lesson? Do you now know what you have to do to be forgiven? Do you understand now what it is to truly sacrifice and to take responsibility for your actions? Or are you still the same whiny drunk who can't fess up and own the fact that he alone drove his son away, that he alone killed his wife, that he alone dug his grave?
Salvation is yours for the taking Gib, all you have to do is go through me.
Make me pay.
Make me bleed.
End my career once and for all.
Win the World Title.
And do it all as the monster, do it all as Homeless Harold and know deep down inside that Gib just wasn't good enough, that you just didn't have it in you to go toe to toe with the best. Just admit it now Gib, your nothing, you've always been nothing, you always will be nothing. The only one who ever mattered was Homeless Harold.
In a world that i don't want to know
With a message that I never want to send
To be free from all of this
I want you to quicken my end
Don't tell me I can not go
With a wound that refuses to mend
Deliver me from all of this
I want you to quicken my end
I know what I've done, I accept that I have to pay for my sins, but are you the one who will judge me?
I'm prepared to die, I'm prepared to face the Devil and give him his due. I'm prepared to burn for what I've done Gib, because I understand what salvation is and how it is earned.
It's up to you now and you alone.
Are you monster or are you a man? Are you really nothing more than a mask? I don't know Gib, I truly don't know.
I do know what I've done to get here, who I've beaten, and how hard the journey has been. I have earned my place among the legends of this company. I have proven time and again that I am it's Savior. And this Sunday Night I will stand face to face with Evil Incarnate and I will overcome it. I will defeat it. I will be the Martyr this Company Needs or I will create one.
Peace be with you.
( Angel steps out into the parking garage of the arena Collision was held at. The world title is slung over his leather clad shoulder, his bag is in his right hand. He stops several steps from the door and looks up, a smile on his face. We turn and see that Shelly with Hayleigh in her arms as well as Xander beside them are waiting for Angel. He walks over to them and takes his daughter from Shelly and gives them both a kiss. Then Angel turns to Xander. )
"Don't even think about it."
"Heh. Good work out there tonight."
( Xander sighs. )
"Despite getting my ass handed to me."
"Winning isn't everything Xander."
( He raises an eyebrow. )
"Is that so?"
"You can't spend every waking moment worrying about winning when there is so much else in life to look forward to. Like a family for example, something your now a part of."
( Xander thinks about this for a second as Angel latches his daughter into the rental car's back seat. )
"I can't replace your father, I don't want to, but I do want to be there for you Xander, like you've been there for me."
"We both do."
"So your welcome to stay with us, to really be a part of this family, to really dedicate yourself to us or you can go back to your old life."
( Xander looks a little confused as Shelly gets into the car and Angel opens his door. )
"Wait, what?"
"Your father claimed I had no more use for you, he said I used you and that when I was done with you I'd leave you to him. I've done no such thing and you have to believe I would never abandon you like he chose to. But I can't force you to be a part of this family and I can't force you to be a part of Sunday Night."
"Whats going to happen Sunday Night?
"Someone has to be the martyr for the sins of nCw... It's either going to be Gib... or it's going to be me. But it's going to happen and if you don't want to be a part of that, if you don't think I truly care about you, then I think it's time you head your own way."
( Angel begins to get in the car when Xander grabs him on the shoulder. Angel turns around and faces Xander again. )
"I'm with you to the end, whatever that may be."
( Angel returns Xander's smile and the two of them share a quick hug, something Xander hasn't felt from a loved one in years. The two of them get in the car, shut their doors and drive away. )
Now I have everything everyone else wants. I have the fame, the fortune, the family, the World Title. I have it all and I stand primed and ready to fall.
Can God's really fall?
Can a mortal really be the cause?
Or is it all just preparation for something else?
Is Sunday the Final Revelation, the Seventh Seal, or is there still one more to open?
Jesus died so that he may rise again and save us all. Keep that in mind as you drive the spear into my side Gib.
The End.
