Birthday Fun Times!
On this day back in 1979 in Belfast, Ireland a set of twins were born. Michael and Bradley Kane. Thirty one years have now past since that fateful day of the birth of the two greatest twins in professional wrestling history. Thirty one years of hardship, pain and addictions for the duo. Lost kids, lost loves, lost titles among so many other things. Some never thought they'd manage to live this long but yet here we stand.
Or sit...
Seeing as how I'm in a chair right now typing this. Later on today, after Chris gets out of school, I get to do what I want for the rest of the day with my family. I got some fun things planned that they'll even enjoy. I'm a man of simple taste so a meal will start things off, probably at like Red Lobster or something. Not for sure yet. Though if Lacey and Lilly scream for hamburgers, I'm layin' down the law.
Then its off back home to watch movies until it's bed time. I know, not very exciting but like I said, very simple. Last year I had to wrestle on my birthday and it wasn't a lot of fun either. This year I get the day off to enjoy myself and relax. Ironically enough, though, that tomorrow is the birthday of my opponent for Sovereign.
How exactly does that manage to work. I think Spike and I are a day older then Xavier Cross is. So someone's week will be a little more bittersweet come Sunday evening when we step into the ring. This is my first chance at a title in New Championship Wrestling since I had a shot at the World Title back in 2007. I'm excluding that Tag Title match with Spike where he went all douche and turned on me again.
But Xavier, we have a storied history together that hardly anyone really knows about. I remember a couple of years ago, you were just this punk kid who got the evil eye from everyone in the locker room and for some reason, you picked me out of everyone else to explain the facts to you.
Do you remember that one thing you did when I had a straight edge stable before we joined this place? You had myself and the other members "turning tricks" in a public bathroom because you thought it was funny.
That day when you came up to me and asked for help because you didn't want to get shunned anymore, I felt honored. Since then I've watched you with pride among many other emotions. I've seen you at the top of the world and I've seen you at the bottom. Almost two years ago to the day, we faced off against one another else where and I wrote something down on this very blog that I'd like to share with you again.
"If you saw Massacre this week, you saw me win a match with Xavier Cross. That was a pretty fun time I have to say. Felt weird wrestling on Monday though, not really used to it these days. I felt like Xavier and I meshed pretty well though. As much as people rag on the kid, he is gonna have a good future in the next couple of years if he keeps at this rate but enough praising him though."
I almost called it kid. There was something in you that made me think that you had that factor in you. I was right. But you still haven't made it over that hump. The National Title we'll be fighting for is well and good but you need to aim higher Xavier. You should be in that main event. You should be fighting for a World Title shot, not wasting your time with me.
See if I win that title, it does nothing for me in the long run. I don't need that belt to feel like I'm worth something. Lord knows I've held enough of those damn things in my career. But you need to beat me Xavier. On a pay per view, a match you've wanted for a long damn time and you finally have it?
I know you and you will refuse to let the chance to beat me in front of millions go to the way side. I view this as a stepping stone for you Xavier. The National Title is a great title, held by some of the best men in the business... and Joe Everyman. Great chance for myself to show that I'm actually serious about being serious in this promotion. But just showing that I care is more then enough I think.
Suppose we'll see when the time comes on Sunday night. I hope you don't mind my bluntness or the lack of having a camera ready. Its my birthday and I can do what I want. And right now, I feel like going to have some fun with my family.

Back in the real world, Brad hits the post button before walking away from his PC. He steps out of the office and into another room in the giant mansion he calls home. For a moment he's a little confused, seeing Chris standing in the living room.
Brad: How did you get home?
Chris: Mom came and got me so you wouldn't have to. Though she should've worn more clothes...
Brad looks over to the couch to see Megan wearing a tight t-shirt and tight jeans. Makes him smile though.
Brad: Don't worry about it champ. Your friends got something to think of now while they sleep. I got something to think about myself now too.
Chris: ...Gross dad, just gross. So what are we gonna do now?
Brad: Either go out to eat or open my gifts first.
Chris is ready to say something but a small voice gets their two cents in first.
Lilly: PRESENTS!
A small chuckle escapes from Brad's mouth as he walks to the couch, sitting next to his wife. Kiss on the cheek, all the kids around him. Chris looks a little pissed mostly due to wanting to go eat instead of watching this.
Lacey: Open 'em up daddy.
Brad: Alrighty. Let's see what the girls got me first.
Megan hands him a package. It gets unwrapped. Appears they made enough money to get their father a throwback Bill Russell Celtics jersey.
Brad: Oh very nice. Thank you girls.
Smiles are put on their faces. Next up is from the boys. Its a smaller package. Brad opens it, a fancy watch. Looks like a Rolex or something like it.
Brad: Also nice. Thank you.
Chris: You're welcome dad.
Ryan nods his head, unable to speak yet. The last package is from Megan of course. Its rather large, fitting over Brad's lap. He tears at the paper before laughing.
Brad: A Hot Wheels race track! I always wanted one of these as a kid.
Megan: Remembered hearing you talking about it. So I couldn't help myself.
Brad: Thank you. Now that we got that handled, lets go eat out!
Most of the kids already have their coats on. Brad picks up the youngest, Sasha, before giving her a kiss.
Brad: You know Sasha, I should win this weekend for you. I haven't won a match since you were born. Sound good?
She doesn't answer back, dur. Brad cradles her, everyone going out to the cars before leaving.
