Freakke is sitting on top of a ladder looking down at the camera. It is night, and it is very dark outside. A few torches are burning but the camera angle doesn't catch them. Only their orange glow on the ladder and the Carnival King. Behind them all the stars are shining dimly. A moment passes in silence. Then another. Freakke hops down and the two torches come into view.
"My fellow competitors, coworkers, and of course, my dear cretins. I have been given a ladder match. A ladder match. You might not know why this is a big deal if you haven't seen me in action in Defiant or the Luchadore circuit in New Mexico or Arizona. So let me give you an idea of what my thoughts are for the following Sovereign."
He smiled, nodded his head once, and put his hands on his waist. He stayed this way for all of two seconds. Then, he reared his head back, still grinning, and began to laugh.
""Bbwwaaaahahahahahahaha."
His head leveled and he stopped. Sort of.
"Ha. Haha. Whew. Oh good lord. OK, I'm done. I'm sorry. Had to let it out. Let me...let me elaborate if I can. In my eight years of the business, I've adapted well to a lot of situations. I've been in Hardcore Matches, Handicap Matches, Cage Matches, Prison Style No Escape Matches. That being said, I've excelled at a few types of matches particularly. Table Matches, Pyro Matches...and Ladder matches. Eight years I've been doing this, I've been in 39 total Ladder matches to date. Don't believe me? Have a look."
The camera faded out and before the video began to roll, the song "O' Fortuna", began to play. As the pace began to escalate, the images began to rapidly come and go. El Phantasmo, Xombie, Freakke, various ladders and rings. Then it started to show his opponents, chronologically. Luchadores of all colors and styles, wrestlers from the Northeastern U.S., and then from all over. This was followed by the various gimmick's of Charlie Smiles being hit with the ladder in every possible way by the ladder. That wasn't the end though. Each time showed him getting up. Each time he got up, he returned the punishment tenfold. A moonsault from the top of the ladder, making it fall forward and crashing it into his opponent, setting it up in the corner and slamming his opponents into the steel instrument, pushing two opponents out of the ring while they were on the ladder, a Smiledriver from the top of the ladder. Blood followed. His own and those of his opponents. As the music slows again, it fades out some, but returns with the music. A few more shots of the three gimmicks, all have the same determined look on ther face. More punishment is given to his opponents and himself. As it begins to escalate into the final stretches of the song, El Phantasmo, Xombie, Freakke, and some of the wrestlers he fought, began to make their final climbs. Some of the shots of this climax involve a last fist fight several feet above the ring. The three take their licks and dish out there own at the same time. The final few moments pieced together him holding a prize as Freakke.
The scene fades out and it returns to Freakke, here and now. He's resting lower on the ladder.
"Now, I know what you're thinking. 'Well, that was then, this is now.' Maybe you're right. I have new opponents, new promotion, I'm unacquainted with this ladder. Well, experience has to count for something right? Anyhow, I've watched the tapes, I've seen how these guys wrestle. I think I can handle them. Don't take that the wrong way guys. I respect each of you. Not just because you were amazing somewhere else or because you've been with the company or whatever. I respect the fact that your willing to step into the ring with five other determined guys and 12 foot, folding, piece of steel. It takes courage and will to do that, or a hatful of crazy."
He folded his hands in front of himself and smiled.
"When we step in the ring, before that bell, I'd like to shake everyone of your hands. A sign of good will and competition. That'll probably be the last of the civility between us until it rings again. I promise, no joy buzzers. Just be ready for Sunday. I'm coming to win. I hope you all are too."
Freakke looked up the ladder and smirked.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, don't miss Sovereign on Sunday, it's gonna be an excellent show. Payne, Jones, Doc, Venom, Joe, good luck."
