It's moments after the team of Will Washington and Paul Star won the tag team triple threat at Collision, and a camera is situated just behind the entrance curtain. All the other participants of the tag team match have already left the ring, but Paul decided to hang around in-ring and milk the crowds cheers. He has every right to, being the man who got the pin fall victory for his team. Paul's theme music starts to play, and after about thirty seconds, the curtain is pushed to one side and Paul steps into the backstage area. He is wearing a big grin, obviously happy with the result of the match he was in moments earlier. Around his waist is the X-Division Championship, and over his shoulder is his signature coat. Paul doesn't acknowledge the camera, which starts moving with him as he makes his way down a corridor. Paul approaches a door, which turns out to be that of the locker room. Paul takes the door handle in his hand and is about to open it, when a voice is heard shouting off-camera.
" Paul! "
Paul turns to see who shouted, and sees Shane Hunt coming down another corridor toward him. Paul lets go of the door handle and lets his arm flop to his side.
" Hey mate. Did you enjoy the match? "
Shane reaches Paul, and stops next to him. Shane looks very happy, undoubtedly because the wrestler he's mentoring just had an amazing match.
" I loved it! You looked great out there, and I'm impressed that you got the win for your team. "
Paul's grin gets wider.
" I really showed the other five wrestlers in the match what I'm made of. I hit both my finishers, and one of them led to me getting the three count. I'm really pumped for the Coliseum match next week. I've got momentum on my side, and I fully intend on using that momentum to win the match. "
Shane is glad to hear Paul is enthusiastic about the Pay Per View match.
" It's good that you want to use your momentum to your advantage. You're still going to have to train hard for the match though. I've got some special training planned for you this week. It's going to be hard work for you this week in training, but I'll tell you more about that when the time comes later in the week. I'll meet you in the car. I've left John in there, and he's probably getting bored on his own. "
Paul nods, happy to meet Shane in the car park.
" OK mate, I'll catch you in the car park in a minute. This training sounds interesting. Can't wait to find out what you've got lined up for me this week. "
" Oh, it will be very interesting for you. Right, see you in a minute then. Don't keep us waiting for too long. "
Paul nods once again, this time not following the head movement with any speech. Shane turns away from Paul and walks out of camera shot. Paul turns to the door, taking the handle in his hand again. He opens the door and walks into the locker room. The camera follows Paul in and moves to one side as Paul shuts the door. Paul walks over to the lockers at the back of the room. He fishes a key out of his pocket, and puts it in the keyhole of a locker at head level. Paul turns the key then pulls it, swinging the locker door open. Paul puts his hand in the locker, and pulls out his kit bag. Paul walks over to the bench in the middle of the room, and puts his kit bag down on it. He lays his coat next to the bag. Paul looks up, straight at the camera. A look of surprise crosses Paul's face, and he talks to the camera as if he didn't realise it was there.
" Oh, hello. I didn't see you come in the locker room. Are you the one who filmed me pinning Ricky Johnson in the main event a little while ago? "
The camera moves from side to side, as if the camera itself was saying no to Paul.
" Aww, that's a shame. You missed one Hell of a Attitude Injection. I nearly took poor Ricky's head off with it... Speaking of Attitude Injections, I think it's time I injected some to spice things up a bit in the Coliseum match. You may have missed me pinning Ricky, but nobody missed what he had to say about me before the tag match. He seems to think that I'm a badly cloned version of him. He couldn't be further from the truth with that statement. I'm better than him in every way, even though I'm younger than him. I look better, I sound better, and I proved in the tag team match that I'm a better wrestler than him. "
Paul stops speaking for a moment. He unzips his bag and reaches into it. When his hand reappears, it's holding a shiny red apple. Paul takes a bite out of the apple, which looks really juicy. He chews the mouthful, and swallows it. Paul keeps hold of the apple as he goes on speaking about Ricky Johnson.
" So Ricky, you said last week that I run my mouth but don't know how to back up my words. You also don't know that I'm the current X-Division Champion, or you were just playing dumb. "
Paul points down at the X-Division title around his waist with his free hand, while smirking at the camera.
" See that belt there, that's the X-Division Championship belt that I'm the holder of. The fact that I'm wearing it around my waist kind of gives that fact away, so I'm guessing you were either playing dumb or you actually are dumb. I'd go with the latter. You never know, that Attitude Injection I gave you earlier may have kick started your brain. I very much doubt it though. Enough about Ricky. I only have one more thing to say to him right now. You'd better watch what you do in the Coliseum match Ricky, because I'll be waiting for you to make a mistake. You made one in the tag team match, and it's a certainty that you'll make another next week. When you do, I'll be right on you and before you know it, I'll have once again shown that I'm a better wrestler than you. "
Paul takes another bite of his apple, chewing it and swallowing it quickly before he moves on to talking about Andrew Jacobsen.
" Let's talk about Ricky's tag team partner from the match just passed. Andrew Jacobsen, a wrestler I respect a lot in NCW. You showed everyone why you deserve such respect, when you kicked out of a pin after I hit you with a 450 Splash. You're a tough wrestler, Andrew. I know you're still pissed off about me beating you last month and taking the X-Division Championship away from you, but the tag team match had nothing to do with the X-Division title, and neither does the Coliseum match. You'll get your rematch against me soon enough because you're owed one, but next week is all about the World Championship. I don't have to worry about losing my belt, so I'm going to take more risks to get the job done... And I WILL get the job done, no matter what it takes! "
Paul takes another break from talking to bite into his apple. After more chewing and more swallowing, Paul once again gets back to talking.
" Andrew, I feel you are one of two wrestlers who are the biggest threats against me winning the Coliseum match. I'm not taking any of my opponents lightly, but you and Will Washington are the two men I'm taking most seriously going into the match. I know how much you love this business, Andrew. I also know how hard you are to beat. I may have won against you twice, but I'm not letting those two wins go to my head because you were damn good in both those matches. Will on the other hand, I've never actually wrestled against. He was a great tag partner, and I enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside him. The Cambridge Coalition, as he so poignantly named us, was a very good partnership. That partnership died the moment the tag team match was over though. The Cambridge Coalition shall retire undefeated, and now it's time for the former tag partners to face off against one another. As I've already said, I feel Will is the other big threat in the Coliseum match. I've watched tapes of his matches in past NCW shows, and he's very good in the ring. I'm going to have to push myself if I want to out-wrestle him, and I'm more than up to that challenge. Will, you may be good, but in the Coliseum match I'm going to be that little bit better. It's nothing personal. I just want that World title shot as much as anyone else who's taking part in the match."
Paul looks at his apple, which is beginning to turn brown where he's bitten into it. He turns his nose up at the apple, which he doesn't fancy eating now. He places it down on the bench next to his kit bag. Paul then turns his attention back toward the camera.
" Moving on, and let's talk about Infertile... I mean Infamous for a moment. Even with all their dirty tactics, Bates and Jimmy Zane couldn't pick up the win for their pathetic group of no-hopers. Because of this, the whole group decided to take to the ring. I'm sure their group beatdown was all planned out before the tag match even got underway, but things didn't go to plan for them. Well, unless they all intended on getting themselves humiliated. I doubt that any of the Infamous lads saw their total humiliation coming, but it came none the less. Next week, Bates and Zane will be locked in a cage, with their mates unable locked out. They'll have to fend for themselves, and I guarantee neither of them will fare very well. "
Paul grins, excited at the prospect of getting some revenge on Bates for even attempting to hit him with the barbed wire brief case after the tag match.
" Bates, I'm coming after you first. I don't mind you knowing that, because it'll give you a whole week to wonder how much pain I'm willing to put you through. Don't even doubt my ability to cause you pain, Bates. I've beaten you twice now, and I will make it three wins against you in the Coliseum match. This time though, I'm not just going to beat you. Before I pick up yet another win against you, I'm going to take you way past your pain threshold. I'll hurt you so badly, that you'll be begging me to stop. The crowd will love watching me destroy you, and you know how much I like pleasing the crowd. What they want from me, they get. They'll want nothing more than to see me making you suffer, and making you bleed. Oh, and if your pal Jimmy tries to intervene, I'll gladly dish him the same as what I'm going to dish out for you. "
Paul pauses so he can grab a T-shirt and throw it on.
" Speaking of Jimmy, how are you feeling after Andrew hit you with a Minnesota Massacre? I bet you're feeling like crap. Trust me Jimbo, you'll be feeling a shed load worse next weekend when I get hold of you. After I've finished beating Bates all around the ring, it'll be your turn. You think I can't back up my words with actions? Well feel free to try and prove that. I showed you and the rest of your Goof Troop buddies earlier tonight that I've got more than enough actions to back up every last word I say. Next week will be no different, as my actions speak louder than my ever confident words. "
As Paul finishes that sentence, The locker room door swings open and Shane steps onto the scene once again. He doesn't look happy, and he's directing that unhappiness at Paul.
" Paul, what's taking you so long? John and I have been waiting in the car for ten minutes. "
Paul's expression tells us that he's sorry for keeping Shane waiting.
" Have you seriously been waiting that long? Ah man, I'm so sorry! Let's go now. Let me just grab my kit bag and coat. "
True to his word, Paul picks his kit bag up and puts it over his shoulder, then grabs his coat. Shane watches Paul as he does this.
" Are you all set now? "
Paul nods, but then realises he forgot to do something.
" Damn, forgot to lock my locker up. Can you hold this? "
Paul holds out his coat, and Shane reluctantly takes it off him. Paul walks over to his locker. He shuts it, turns the key, then takes the key out of the lock and drops it in his pocket. He then turns back to Shane.
" Right, I'm ready now. "
Shane looks relieved by this.
" About damn time! "
Shane walks toward the doorway and out of the cameras view, as Paul follows and the camera fades to black.
" Paul! "
Paul turns to see who shouted, and sees Shane Hunt coming down another corridor toward him. Paul lets go of the door handle and lets his arm flop to his side.
