Last time on a Venom Promo…
“Ya know buddy, I’m not sure I can really show you, but if you were willing to escort me today, I could really use someone to talk to and I eventually have work to do around the ring.”
“Now if you’ll ecuse me, I’ve got some work to do.
He turns away from the camera and begins down the hall after Handy Havvy”
What will happen this time when we join our nCw up and coming star? Let’s find out in the third installment of “Like the first time”
We cut in and he is doubled over in the hallway of the arena. His breathing is heavy and Handy Havvy is seen behind him looking through his toolbox. He doesn’t seem to notice that Venom is bent over in pain as he sorts through his tools. Venom takes a deep breath and gets upright.
Damn it Havvy, I am hanging out with you to learn some insight on the nCw not do all your work for you.
Havvy looks up at Venom’s back and cocks his head.
Here I thought we were friends.
Venom turns around and looks at him
We could be, if you kept your promise man. You promised I’d get a first look at the nCw Pay Per View ring before anyone else, and instead you have me running up ladders and crawling in air ducts. All for what? So that I Steve Awesome has the perfect temperature in his locker room before he goes out and defends his championship? I don’t care about Steve Awesome’s well being Havvy, I care about me.
Look man, I made you a promise and I’m about to live up to it. I just have to find the right tools and we are about to head to the ring.
You’re not ****ing with me right? If you are just tell me so I can get some real work in Havvy. It’s the night before Sovereign and instead of training I’m running around with you, and by the looks of where we are Havvy, I think you’re lying to me.
Look man, we’re going to the ring now. Just follow me.
Javvy places the tools he pulled from the box in his tool belt and shuts and locks the lid of his tool box before standing up.
Just follow me man.
Venom lifts an eyebrow and shakes his head as Handy Havvy passes and he follows. Havvy proceeds down the hall and pushes through a pair of double doors, and emerges outside in the parking lot.
What the hell is this Havvy! This isn’t the ring, this is OUTSIDE!
Havvy turns to his new friend and raises his hands in defense.
Calm down buddy, I made you a promise, and I intend on keeping it. The ring is right over there.
Havvy points towards an nCw trailer with its back doors open, and from the camera angle ring ropes and ring posts can be made out before the darkness of the trailer. Venom’s hand quickly slaps his fore head as Havvy explains himself.
I have to repair the lighting in there so the guys can get to setting the ring up inside the arena. I promised you a first look and this is it. You can help me get everything ready and get all that insight you were looking for at the same time.
This isn’t what I needed Havvy. I needed to see the full blown ring. See what items they keep under the ring that can be used as weapons. Get a feel for the space around the ring. I needed to see the damn ring Havvy, not the pieces.
Well then I am absolutely no help to you at all bud…
Havvy’s last words trail off as Venom walks away in the darkness of the night and the camera follows. He soon stops in the middle of the parking lot and runs his hands through his hair and screams into the night. He soon turns towards the camera and takes a deep breath.
I just had an epiphany. Until two seconds ago, I thought I wasted a full day. I thought I spent all this time with Javvy trying to find something, and I failed to find what I was looking for. I just realized though, I spent all day climbing ladders and digging through tight spots. Today, my journey with Havvy probably gave me better training then any day in the gym would have. I’ll have to thank Havvy, maybe send him a new tool set or something.
Today though, I wasn’t the only one busy. One of my opponents decided to come out of hiding and actually show his face. He decided that the time was hot to strike and make a last ditch effort to get the fans on his side. So he went on a little rant about each and every one of us in the match, and even AJ who I’ve officially gotten word that he won’t be here for Sovereign. He went on about me, but the real thing that caught my attention that he said was that it was about time I joined the big leagues.
He stops and shakes his head and continues with a small smirk on his face.
Last I check Joe, I spent my entire career in the big leagues. I am the one who trotted the globe main eventing shows every week, while you curtain jerked more then anyone in the history of professional wrestling. Last I checked I was the one in this match whose main evented the most Pay Per Views, and you Joe, are just the most decorated guy in this match, in this federation. Don’t get things mixed up because of that Joe, you are still no where near on my level, Doc’s level, or even AJ’s level, and he’s not even competing in this match. I look at this match on paper, and I realize something you miss Joe. The only reason you are even gracing the same ring as me is because everyone has to start somewhere Joe, and this must be what, your fifteenth time starting over? I’ve been gone from this business for two years Joe, and even with ring rust, I’m still miles ahead of you in the so called “Big Leagues.” Then you go on and cut a second Promo Joe that shows how desperate you are to get the fans behind you. You bring a camera to your home, and you tell a bedtime story like you were in a Movie starring Adam Sandler, and I must admit, it was a good story. Sovereign though will be no Bedtime Story Joe. Sovereign the Dragon you are searching to destroy is no baby, he’s a beast in a mans body, and he will destroy you.
While you were busy though Joe, all was quiet on the Western front, unless you count that thing with Dr. Dream and Freakkee. I’m not sure if I should call it a promo, or one of those ads trying to keep kids of drugs. Last week I had no idea what to think of Freakkee other then the fact that the fans loved him for some reason. Now I head into tomorrows match even more confused then when I started. I thought facing a cable guy was a little off last week, but at least that guy had some sense of focus. After promos like that from Freakkee though, you almost have trouble following it.
Luckily for me, there wasn’t much following that promo, at least not that had any barring on me. I still have something on my mind though about a promo that I hit upon a little the last time I stopped and talked to this camera. That of course, is the most recent promo from Doc. He seemed stuck, stuck on the past, our past. He was stuck on how I use to dominate the ring, and demand attention everywhere I went. It makes me wonder, is the reason he is spending so much dwelling on this because he sees it still in me or because he is trying to prepare if I just so happen to show flashes of that greatness. I hope it’s the former, because I can feel it. I can feel my body coming around back near the best shape I’ve been in during my long career. I know I have the fire and will to win this match. Most of all though, I know I am willing to do whatever I can to prove those few skeptics left out there wrong, to prove that I never fell from the top, I just ran out of steam. Tomorrow, nCw will see me at my best, and I could very well steal the show, as I make someone just another causality of society.
And we fade to black.
