The scene opens up showing the horizon of a beautiful morning in San Antonio, Texas, just outside of the home of one of the latest people to sign a contract with nCw, but no stranger to their cameras…Tara Fenix. She was over at her driveway where we could see a limousine parked in the driveway and her duffel bag set on the ground at this exact moment. A second vehicle could be seen pulling up in the driveway --- she moves out of the way slightly, as the car pulls up right next to the limousine before the driver of this car finally comes out. A more familiar face to the New Championship Wrestling cameras; Doc.
A smile crosses the face of Tara Fenix, as her older brother has stepped out…his eyes look towards the duffel bag, and a smile also on his face since he can’t wait to see his younger sister step back into the ring. The ring that she has been absent from since the closing of the other organization. The siblings greeted each other with a hug, and Doc spoke.
Doc: I can’t believe you finally came around.
The hug was held for a few seconds longer before each leaned against their respective vehicles.
Doc: How’s Aaron taking it?
By mentioning the son of Tara, the nephew to Doc, she felt overtaken by grief remembering that he had not taken it too well. Her hands tucked into her pockets as she looked towards the ground, trying to forget about that…the look on her son’s face when she had first signed the contract with New Championship Wrestling was one that could almost drag her out of her contract, if it wasn’t for the thrill that she got every single time that she stepped into the ring, that even allowed her to put on the shows that she did. It would be just another day in the lonely life of Tara Fenix, knowing it would be another night where she would not be able to see her son who has moved back in with his father.
Tara: Not so well…he won’t even talk to me right now.
A sigh escaped from Doc by hearing about the reaction that his nephew had towards his sister.
Doc: You know…you’ve told Aaron so many times that you were going to call it quits, and you wouldn’t be coming back to this life. Maybe you should just step out. You’ve done enough for this industry.
Tara reached her hand to the back of her neck, under her hair, and scratched it a little. Part of her was feeling that Doc was right, and that she should just call it quits. However, she was so torn on this subject…she had to get back into the ring.
Doc: Spend time with him while he actually wants to spend time with you, before he gets to those teenage years where he’ll be too embarrassed to be with you.
Tara: I’ve been in this business for ten years, Doc…ten long years. I know that I should be there for Aaron more often than I have been, but this is what I do. I know he’s better off with his father. I just hope he knows that I do love him more than anyone else, and that’s the way it’ll always be. When he gets older, I’m sure he’ll understand why I have to do what I do.
Just nodding his head, Doc’s eyes falter a little and look back towards the ground…the truth is that he felt a little bit torn on this, too. He was excite to once again see his sister step back into the ring, but he knows that his nephew needs his mother, so retirement shouldn’t be too far out of the question. Tara grabbed her duffel bag and went to the trunk of the limousine, where the driver stood and he took the bag from her to load it into the car for her then proceeded towards the driver door, but stopped as Tara spoke to him.
Tara: We’re going to be a few minutes. Go ahead and chill for a while.
Driver: Sure. Thanks.
The driver walked towards the home of Tara, as Doc and Tara started walking towards the end of the driveway to just get a little bit away.
Doc: Did you hear what your opponent said to you?
Tara briefly shakes her head.
Tara: Haven’t had a chance.
Doc: Well…she made a comment saying that you don’t know what it’s like to stand at the back of the entrance, and hear the crowd. Saying that you’ve just begun.
Tara: “Just begun”? What else did she say?
Doc: How she’s not going to take you lightly. You don’t know what to expect of her. Come on, you don’t need me to tell you what these people say, you’ve heard it all before!
Doc chuckles at his own comment, and it also makes Tara laugh a bit under her breath while they both keep walking forward.
Tara: True…I’ll have to watch it some other time, get a little bit of background on my opponent. Know exactly what I have to do to take her down. Not like I’ve ever truly needed it before, because…well…as you know, nCw won’t allow me in the ring with men. I’ve done it, though. So what are these other women going to hope to accomplish?
Doc: Don’t take her lightly, Tara! You should know better than that. If one woman can take on the men, you never know who else could do it.
Tara: You should know who you’re talking to, Doc. It doesn’t matter who it is, man or woman, I will step into that ring with anyone at any time, and I’ll do what I do best! Make them look like a rookie, and beat them in the middle of that ring. Pin-fall, or submission.
Doc: You forgot about count-out.
Tara lifts her hand into the air, index finger extended as if to silence Doc.
Tara: That…is not the middle of the ring!
While laughing, Doc gives the quick comment to Tara’s reply:
Doc: Touché.
Tara: And you know I won’t let them out of a match that easily…if I have to drag her back out to that ring, and force her to tap out.
Doc: Alright, sis, but please just take my advice; don’t take her lightly. Don’t take any of your opponents lightly.
The long awaited return of the cold eyes of Tara Fenix staring a hole right through her own brother, a scowl on her face that she tried to dismiss. Deep in her mind, she knew that she was the better wrestler than anyone that New Championship Wrestling had under contract. The best wrestler than anyone else in this industry. At least in her mind. There was no doubt that she was definitely one of the greatest to ever step into the ring. Her eyes calmed after several seconds, and she snorted before looking away from him.
Tara: I’ll go out to that ring and I’ll treat her like everybody else.
A sly smile showed to Doc, but he didn’t look approved from how he remembers how Tara treated everybody before.
Tara: How’s Angel doing?
She said to quickly change the subject, as they started to walk back towards the vehicles.
Doc: He is the World Champion.
Tara: That’s great!
Excited about the news of her former partner of Enmity becoming the World Champion in nCw, she clapped her hands together a few times. Doc appeared to be rather lost, since he didn’t seem to be too fond of Angel, he just shrugged before answering.
Doc: …it’s alright.
Tara: It’s great. Unfortunately, I’ll have to set my eyes a little bit lower. The World Championship is completely out of the question, I imagine.
Doc: That would be correct. Zelda Knite has the Women’s Championship. If you want to go after that.
Tara: I’ll take it one step at a time. One…giant step…at a time.
As the two reached their respective vehicles, their conversation carried on while the scene faded to black. The Frozen Phoenix has arrived to New Championship Wrestling.
