The song Blood, Milk, and Sky begins to play as Dr. Dream stands in a basement before a surgical table. There isn't anyone one or thing on it. The camera flickers with the music, shifting to and from images befitting the 'Good Doctor' and White Zombie. As the song begins to pick up he begins to draw on the clean sheets of the gurney. The camera doesn't get a good glimpse of what it is he's drawing but even if it does, the camera effects make it impossible to see.
The siren sings a
Lonely song of all the
Wants and hungers
The lust of love a brute
Desire - the ledge of life
Goes under - Divide the
Dream into the flesh
Kaleidoscope and -
Candle eyes - Empty
Winds scrape on the
Soul - but never stop
To realize -
Dr. Dream finished and stepped back. He rolled his head back and cracked his neck. The camera tried to sneak in but it changed to an outside shot of him burning what seemed like hospital waste in a barrel outside of a warehouse. He seemed to become aware of the camera just as the second verse kicked in. Then he went back inside as the fires continued.
Animal whisperings
Intoxicate the night
Hypnotize the desperate
Slow motion light - Wash
Away into the rain
Blood, milk and sky
Hollow moons illuminate
And beauty never dies
The cameras shifted to images of the stars above and the night. Constellations moved passed in fast forward. Then it went back to Dr. Dream in the basement. A mess of ink stained the sheets on the outside, but the image inside was still obscured.
Running wild running blind
I breathe the body deep
1,000 years beside myself
I do not sleep - Seduce
The world it never
Screams Dead water lies
Ride the only one who
Knows - Beauty never dies
As the music faded out, it cut to Dr. Dream standing in an overgrown garden behind the warehouse. He was sitting in front of what seemed to be a campfire. His face was painted in the Norse styling and his surgical mask was pulled down.
"I am not a real physician, I do not practice medicine. I am not licensed in any way to perform surgery. In fact, I'm just about the farthest thing from a doctor. I hurt instead of heal. Friday, I go up against Venom, a man who is well acquainted with the square ring. Now think about that for a second. Dr. Dream versus Venom. Doctor vs. poison."
He shook his head and looked up. A moment passed and his attention returned to the camera.
"Funny ain't it? That's not important though. You're good at what you do. I've seen it first hand. I saw yu tear into it with four other guys in the ring. You may not have won but you did make an impression. I won't step into the ring thinking it'll be easy. I know better. I won't step in expecting to lose either. Why should I? You might be a legend in the industry. You might have been champion a hundred times. Hell, you could have been the worst man to ever disgrace the ring with your presence. Friday, none of that matters. Each match is new. Each time you step in the ring, you never know what will happen. We won't know what will happen until we step into the ring."
He stood up and threw another log onto the fire. The red and orange embers rose and disappeared into the sky. Dr. Dream's attention remained on the camera though.
"Venom, are you ready to go to sleep?"
Dr. Dream smiled and the camera faded away.
A moment passed, but then the music came back. Where The Sidewalk Ends, The Bug Parade Begins began to play and the camera turned on going up through the warehouses front entrance. It speedily made its way down the hall and into the basement. The camera stopped and turned to face the gurney. Painted on it's white sheet was the symbol of Ophiuchus.
