Act 1: Young man you just got knocked the f*** out!
The scene opens on the interior of the Canelli estate. It was a personal gym at the back of the house. Weights lined one of the walls, while treadmills, exercise bikes, and weight machines littered the room. In the middle of the room there sat a low wrestling ring, where we find Joanne dressed in a tight pair of black shorts, and white tank top sparing with rude. She moves with grace and speed, as Rude tries hitting her with a hard right hook. She moves underneath him, and hits him with a leg sweep sending him to the mat. Joanne smiles as she goes for mounted punches only to be hit with a right hand. She falls to the mat as Rude comes down with a left, only to miss, as Joanne gets to her feet.
Rude: Damn, you're quick this morning boss.
Joanne: No, you're just gettin' slow... C'mon keep up.
Rude: Old? I'll show you old!
Rude goes for a quick jab only to have Joanne catch his hand, sending him to the mat with a quick flick of her wrist. She smiles as covers and Reno slides in to count it out.
Reno: 1...2...thr...
Rude kicks out, and headbutts Joanne sending her back to the mat. She flips to her feet, and goes for a hard right sending Rude into the ropes, as Scarpaci walks into the room, with a folder in hand.
Joanne: Where in the hell have you been?
Scarpaci: Doing a little bit of searchin' on your opponent. She's squeaky clean. No police records or anythin'.
Joanne: I see. So no big dark secrets I can use? Oh well. What else did you find out about her?
Scarpaci: She has a son, and has been wrestlin' for at least 10 years.
Joanne: Then why haven't I ever heard of her? Was it underground feds or what?
Scarpaci: Not sure, but she doesn't seem like the type that started off in the big leagues like you did sis.
Rude: Hell when you started out boss, no one could stop you no matter what they tried.
Reno: Yeah. You took down Du Lac, without a second thought, and got the World Title within the first month you were in the HWC.
Joanne just smiles as Scarpaci turns on the TV hanging in a corner of the room, as Tara's promo comes on. Joanne just sighs, and turns her back to the screen as her and Rude start sparing. He puts on a pair of boxing gloves on his hands, and she starts moving in a boxing style that Rude had taught her. She dodges and weaves back and forth, as Rude throws a few punches at her while she listens to what Tara has to say.
Joanne: So Tara you have 10 years of experience... Funny I never heard of you, so you can't be that good. I mean when I started off I was takin' on guys twice as big as I was, and yet I brought them down without a second thought, or any help. They underestimated me, and they fell. I have 8 years in the ring, so I'm not that far behind you, and I know I can stand against someone like you.
Rude starts dodging the hits that she's making, hitting her a few times with a light left hook.
Joanne: Is she serious? I mean just because she has a little more experience she thinks she's better than I am? Ha! I would like to see her go through what I have in my career so far. Nearly killed in a match, almost dyin' on an operatin' table when they put my face back together, havin' my arm nearly ripped from my body, and yet here I stand, ready to face her on Friday night for the first time in the NCW. I'll be ready to take her down no matter what it takes.
Rude: That's it boss! You're a hurricane! Keep going!
Joanne goes full out switching up between right and left hooks, as Rude blocks and dodges as many as he can. She finally comes at Rude with a heavy hard right, as his eyes get big, he ducks, and Joanne's fist connects with Reno's face sending him flying back to the cement floor of the room. Joanne leaps over the top rope and rushes to Reno's side with Rude and Scarpaci following behind.
Rude: Reno you got knocked the f*** out!
Joanne: Reno! Reno speak to me!
Scarpaci: Damn sis, I don't think I've ever seen you hit someone that hard before. I think you broke his brain... at least what's left of it.
Rude: He'll be alright. He's been hit harder than that. Reno, how many fingers am I holding up?
Rude holds up his hand, as Reno starts coming to. His vision was a bit fuzzy, and his head was spinning.
Reno: 8...
Rude looks at his hand that had three fingers held up. Rude shakes his head, as they help Reno to his feet.
Joanne: Reno, I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to hit you.
Reno: I'm fine... Just make the room stop spinning please.
Rude: C'mon lets get you to the hospital.
Reno: Are you my mommy?
Rude: Yes. Your mommy is black. We'll get you fixed up. Are you coming boss?
Joanne: No, I'll stay here and get ready for our flight to Georgia tonight. Scarpaci go with them, and make sure they stay out of trouble.
Scarpaci: Sure thing sis. You going to be alright by yourself?
Joanne: I'll be fine. Now go, and make sure that he doesn't have a concussion.
Reno: Hey... Who in hell am I?
Joanne just sighs, as they head out of the gym, and head for the front door, leaving Joanne by herself once more. She turns off the TV and sighs standing in front of a sand bag that was hanging from the ceiling, and starts throwing a few punches at it, and avoiding as it swings back.
Joanne: Before you even say anythin' Tara, I know sandbags can't hit back, but you can. I've heard it all before too. I'm not good enough to stand up to you, I'm still young and you can take me down! Prove it! Show me that you can handle yourself against someone like me. I've been through a lot in my life, and this match is just another milestone for me. You see I'll be the one walkin' out of that ring on Friday night with my first win in the NCW. I'm not gettin' ahead of myself, because I know it's the truth. I'm goin' to fight you tooth and nail just to get the first win over you, and start my climb to the top once again.
Joanne hits the sandbag a little harder with a hard right punch almost sending it to the ceiling, and she smiles. She had a lot of strength in her upper half. Even her arm hard held out longer than she thought it would without having to worry about the pain killers that she took every once in a while. The herbalist that she had seen took a lot of the pain away, but the surgeries finished off what was left of the pain, and torn areas. She flexes her left arm and hits the sandbag once more before hitting it with a round house kick sending it the ground splitting it open.
Joanne: Tara if you're not careful, you'll end up on the mat, in pain and agony. But I want you to bring everythin' that you have to the ring, and show me why you think you are one of the best in this business. Show me you are not some has been, but show me the true bitch that lies beneath that sweet exterior. Give me a reason to step into that ring with you on Friday night. I don't think I have any more to say for now, but see you soon Tara, and good luck... You're goin' to need it.
Joanne just smiles, grabbing a towel off of the stool by the door. She looks back and sighs, turning off the light, and shutting the door behind her, as the scene fades to black.
