The scene opens up in a room backstage at the Gwinnett Center, where all the lights are dimmed. Tara Fenix is seen immediately as the cameras open up, gazing right into the camera with a very stern look. It seemed that now has become her time to focus on her upcoming match…
Her voice breaks the silence, and her eyes fall momentarily to the ground in front of her. Before continuing, she licks her lips, and allows her eyes to meet with the camera lens.
Tara tilts her head slightly to the side.
She shrugs her shoulders, and leans back in the seat while still looking directly into the camera and her neck straightening.
Her arm lifted into the air as if to show the elevation of where she was, as high as she could reach.
She brought her arm back down, and placed both of her elbows onto her knees while leaning forward and rubbing her hands together.
A smirk finally crosses her face, while resuming speaking.
She takes a deep breath while staring off to the side of the camera and beginning on this short little history lesson for Joanne.
The smirk that was once on her face turns into a smile, and she brings her eyes back towards the camera.
Tara finally stands up from the chair that she was seated in, and brings one hand in front of her as she’s pacing back and forth…with her right hand out, she extends the index finger.
Her middle finger joins her index finger, and she wraps her left hand around the two fingers.
Now her left arm goes back to her side and she holds three fingers up to the camera on her right hand.
The count of three comes to an end, and she lets her arms out and shrugs her shoulders just once.
She laughs as she asks the question.
All of the humor, all of the joy, everything that was once happy and cocky in the spirit of Tara suddenly leaves as she gives just that same stern look that she gave at the beginning.

The scene suddenly changes and we are backstage at the Gwinnett Center, out in the hallway…a door at the side of the hallway opens up, as we see one person walking down the hallway. The former World Heavyweight Champion, Angel. Coming from the door is none other than the woman who was just speaking in her latest promo, and the former colleague to Angel, Tara Fenix. The first glimpse of Angel draws a smile from her, as she runs to Angel and greets him with a hug.
Tara: What’s going on, man, I’ve missed you!
Angel: Just thought I’d drop by and say hello.
They both end the hug, and Tara’s arms drop to her side as she swings them back and forth just a little before placing them against the wall as she leans back against it. Angel simply crosses his arms…a small look of confusion on the face of Tara, as she is still under the belief that Angel is the World Champion.
Angel: How are you doing?
Tara: Doing great…
A short pause follows this, as she isn’t sure if she should bring this up.
Tara: Umm…where’s your World Championship? Doc told me that you were the champion, and couldn’t wait to see you wearing that belt.
Angel can’t help but laugh, and walks down the hallway. Slightly displeased by the mentioning of the World Championship, recalling the events that occurred last Sunday, at Sovereign.
Angel: You didn’t see the show?
He says, while turning his head to face Tara. She simply shakes her head in response.
Angel: I lost it…at the pay-per-view.
Tara: Oh. Sh*t, sorry, I brought it up.
Angel: No big deal. Why aren’t you training for your match? You haven’t stepped foot into the ring since like…November?
It was Tara’s turn to laugh in response to Angel’s comment, and she took a couple steps towards him before placing her palms together, that devilish grin on her face.
Tara: You should know me better than that, Angel. I don’t need to get ready for what I’m going to do to this…Joanne Canelli…I don’t even have to know what she can do inside the ring. I just have to know what I can do. I can do anything.
Angel: Nice to see that you haven’t changed at all.
Tara continued to walk forward now, standing at the same step with Angel and both of them continued to walk down the hallway, continuing their conversation along the way.
Tara: Well, seriously, who does she think she is? She can get into the ring with a nobody that has no clue what he’s doing in the ring…and think she’s going to get ready by that. You remember what I did to get ready for my big match with Reeshi last March, right?!
Angel just shakes his head, and Tara’s voice lifts with excitement as she can recall it all as if it were yesterday.
Tara: I picked all my fights! For over a month…over a month, Angel, I was just going and picking a fight with anyone that was in my way. Reeshi…three times my size…and I beat him in the center of that ring. Something that not a lot of people can say they did.
Angel: So, do you really think that you’re going to take this new girl out so easily?
She scoffs at the question, but still replies.
Tara: I know I am. I know that I am going to get into that ring, show her just exactly what I’m made of…and I’m going to secure my very first win inside New Championship Wrestling by forcing her to tap out, or pinning her in the very middle of that ring. She has the nerve to say “good luck” to me. As if I need it. I’ll wish her luck…wish her luck on just bringing herself to drag herself out to that ring for a second match with another nobody, and maybe have things end a little better.
Angel: I hope you win. How has your family been?
While both of them are still continuing down the hallway, their conversation still carrying on, but the camera has stopped following them, the scene fades.
“You know…”
Her voice breaks the silence, and her eyes fall momentarily to the ground in front of her. Before continuing, she licks her lips, and allows her eyes to meet with the camera lens.
“I have been in and out of the wrestling ring for the last ten years, and never once. Never…once. Have I ever been asked whether I knew what it was like to stand on the other side of those curtains, hearing the crowd either screaming my name, whether they loved or hated me. I was never accused of not knowing what it was like. I’ve never been accused of being a rookie.”
Tara tilts her head slightly to the side.
“Why?”
She shrugs her shoulders, and leans back in the seat while still looking directly into the camera and her neck straightening.
“The answer is simple: I’m a f*cking icon! Ever since I put my first foot into that ring, people knew that I was bound for greatness. Women, around the world, looked up to me…they saw me as the biggest inspiration to ever come to our world. A savior. I was one of the women who paved the way for us into wrestling, by showing just how dominant I can truly be. A former World Champion. A former X*Crown Champion. I’ve defeated the likes of; Charlie Velez. Venom. Brad Kane. AJ. Reeshi. They may not be too happy about me bringing up the past, but this is what I have done --- because I’m not scared to step into the ring with them. Because I know I can bring the best out of them, just as they could bring the best out of me. I stood at the top of the mountain.”
Her arm lifted into the air as if to show the elevation of where she was, as high as she could reach.
“The very top…of the mountain!”
She brought her arm back down, and placed both of her elbows onto her knees while leaning forward and rubbing her hands together.
“You can explain it to me all you want, Joanne…tell me that you don’t know who I am, because we came up around the same time. I just happened to come up a few years more than your ‘illustrious’ eight year career.”
A smirk finally crosses her face, while resuming speaking.
“Smart. You’re not going to underestimate me. You shouldn’t underestimate me! Go back and listen to those people that I named, and look what happened to them the moment that they did such a thing…when I climbed and became the World Champion of the ‘other organization’, how many people underestimated me? When I stepped into one of the most brutal structures ever devised in a professional wrestling organization, and I walked out with one of the most decorated championships to ever arise; how many underestimated me? You had better not underestimate me. Because I will make you pay for it.
The mistake that you have already made is assuring all these fans, assuring your family, and assuring this world that you would…win. How many people have gone out to the ring and assured themselves, and assured the fans that they were going to defeat me? The list goes on, and on, and on. Do you have any idea who you’re getting into the ring with? Allow me to take you a little bit back into my history…”

She takes a deep breath while staring off to the side of the camera and beginning on this short little history lesson for Joanne.
“Over at the other organization, the event was called ‘Supremacy’. A title that suited me perfectly, because it was just the beginning of where I was finally recognized as being superior to everybody that stepped into the ring with me! My return to the ring, after a hiatus…I wish I could go further back into the earlier times. The day that I became the Phoenix Champion, held it for a good month, lost it…won it back five days later after being assaulted. The day that I became the first woman to hold a Hardcore Championship that was held by fifty previous owners. I wish I could. Let’s get back to the point, though.”
The smirk that was once on her face turns into a smile, and she brings her eyes back towards the camera.
“November…2006...the return of the Frozen Phoenix, and her rise to ‘Supremacy’. Since that day I have won forty-five matches…have had seven defeats…and three draws. I have not even hit the double-digits of losses! Do you really think you’re going to put me one step closer to hitting those double-digits? Girl, you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your whole plan.”
Tara finally stands up from the chair that she was seated in, and brings one hand in front of her as she’s pacing back and forth…with her right hand out, she extends the index finger.
“Going out there with the experience edge? I took that from you.”
Her middle finger joins her index finger, and she wraps her left hand around the two fingers.
“Going out there as the woman not afraid to bleed? I took that from you.”
Now her left arm goes back to her side and she holds three fingers up to the camera on her right hand.
“Going out there willing, and ready to do anything that it takes to win? I took that from you.”
The count of three comes to an end, and she lets her arms out and shrugs her shoulders just once.
“What do you have left?”
She laughs as she asks the question.
“Are you going to pull the whole stunt of how your family is all about wrestling? Wait, you’ve all been spending too much time on Mafia Wars. Wrestling is in my blood, Joanne. Doc…myself…and even our baby sister has been training to eventually step into this ring. This is my life. This is our life.
Will I underestimate you, Joanne? I don’t think I will. Like I told my brother; I will get into that ring this Friday night, and I will treat you like I have treated everyone before you. Like I will treat everybody after you. Anything can happen. I know this, and you should know this --- if you don’t; learn it. There is the glimmer of hope that you might get the best of me.
Don’t take the thought of me treating you like everyone else as a compliment, though, because I am going to go out to that ring…and I won’t underestimate you. I will embarrass you.”

“Time for the words that we’ve all been waiting for: I will beat you. Yeah, we’ve all heard that from every single wrestler to ever step foot into the ring, whether they had good sportsmanship or whether they were like me, and knew that they were better; we’ve heard it. Guaranteeing the victory! You did it yourself. I guess you have been around the block enough times to know that you’ve got to go out there thinking positive…I want to keep that mindset after I beat you. Prove yourself to be different from so many others in the past; the people that walk away when they realize they can’t beat me. You’re just not going to beat me.”
