( We open to the hustle and bustle of a local Gold's Gym. Everywhere you look are people running, walking, lifting, pressing, and just plain getting down and dirty and sweating. As we move past the tread mills and over to the heavy lifting area we see the focal point of today's promo, Rayne. She's laying on a bench press, moving the bar up and down, 45 pound weights on either side of the bar. She groans a little as the bar goes up for the final time then rests on the hooks. Rayne sits up and wipes the sweat from her brow as she glances up at the camera. )
Rayne: You fancy yourself a Goddess, Cleo? I like that, in fact, I love that, because come tomorrow night I'm going to be the reason you fall from Heaven and come crashing back down to Earth.
( Rayne stands up off the bench and grabs the first weight and re-stacks it. )
Rayne: But enough with the cliches, unlike yourself, I didn't sit down and read from the "Heels Guide to Talking Trash." Seriously Cleo, everything you said, every last word of it, right down to the meaningless threats and random promises to end my career, I've heard somewhere else, from someone else, and trust me bitch, I proved them liars too, just like I'm going to do to you.
( She walks around the other side, grabbing the other weight and puts it back in its place. )
Rayne: I really don't care what century you crawled out of or where ever it is you think your name carries weight, but Friday night, in that ring, I'm going to out you for the talentless wack job that you are. You think these fans or the girls in the back are fooled by you? The only one listening to you is Ayla St. James, and honestly, no one gives a rats ass about the opinion of a slut.
( She walks over now to where the dumb bells are and grabs a 30 pounder and takes a seat with it. )
Rayne: Honestly Cleo, bring everything you've got, if you truly are a goddess, and I doubt that, then fire a lighting bolt right up my ass and kill me here and now...
( She pauses but no lighting bolt. )
Rayne: Otherwise I'm going to do what it is I do best, what I've done for two damn decades on the independent circuit, and I'm going to bitch slap your smug ass back to reality and plant you flat on your back, because sister, It Can Rayne All The Time.
( Rayne turns and focuses on the weight in her right hand as she begins a set of curls. As the weight comes up, she exhales and continues to speak. )
Rayne:Emma Danielson.
( One. )
Rayne: I respect the hell out of you girl.
( Two. )
Rayne: Your not afraid to tell it like it is and I like that.
( Three. )
Rayne: When I hear you say you want to wrestle, honestly, I get a little excited.
( Four. )
Rayne: I've been doing this a long time.
( Five. )
Rayne: Twenty years.
( Six. )
Rayne: And every time I encounter a woman like you, it's always a damn good match.
( Seven. )
Rayne: I know I don't have to ask you to give me everything you got, you know you don't have to ask me. We're professionals, this is our passion, and I don't think either of us are ever going to stop wrestling until we physically can't get out of our wheel chairs to do it, and even then, who knows?
( Eight, but this time she puts the weight down. )
Rayne: So it's like this Emma, your going to try and beat me, I'm going to try like hell to beat you, but regardless of how that goes, lets make damn sure one of us beats the living hell out of Cleo, because I've got to tell you, I've been here two weeks and I've already fallen head over heels in hate with her.
( She grabs the weight again and lifts it for nine. )
Rayne: But promise me something Emma, next time, lets make this little shin dig a singles only dance and maybe throw in a few weapons, because girl, I wanna see what the Queen of Extreme is all about. Good luck.
( Ten, she switches arms but doesn't start right away this time. )
Rayne: It seems like Roxi is always last on everyone's list and the entire roster almost unanimously agrees to think of her as an after thought. Not me Roxi, consider this me saving the best for last. Because out of everyone, you are the most dangerous person out there. Your husband is perhaps the most accomplished wrestler in the company, he's also your trainer, and that alone means you have all the potential in the world to come out there tomorrow and shock us all by winning the match.
( She smiles. )
Rayne: But potential is a funny thing Roxi, because if you don't utilize it, if you don't grab it by the balls and make it your bitch, it amounts to nothing. So far in nCw you've done nothing, proven nothing, and managed to make a reputation for being a failure. You could be the Women's Champion, you could be standing on top of this company, you could, if you really wanted to be, the best damn wrestler out of all of us. Thing is, for all your potential, you don't believe in yourself. You have doubts about your abilities, about your skill, about your heart. You don't think you deserve to be here, you don't think you can match up, you don't think you have what it takes and I feel a little sorry for you Roxi, because you have everything you need at your disposal, you just fail to use it. Friday night, when we're across the ring from each other, I'm going to shake your hand, I'm going to wish you a good match, and then I'm going to do everything in my power to bring the wrestling god out of you, because I know it's there Roxi, and I want to face it head on.
( She begins to curl with her left arm now. )
Rayne: The wrestling world waits with baited breath for Sunday Nights and Collision, but I promise you one thing, tomorrow nights Friday Night Suspense is going to be host to the greatest women's match this company has ever seen...
( Rayne pauses with her arm curled, snarling a little. )
Rayne: As well as the night a Golden Goddess went from reigning in Heaven to serving in Hell.
( Rayne continues to curl as the scene fades to black. )
