I'm going to see this movie tonight, can't wait. I enjoyed the first film even if the human aspect to it was boring.
I'm mainly going because I'm a prop maker/designer and I love the creature effects of ADI, who built the suits and queen for the first AVP.
Has anyone seen this film yet? I've heard it starts off pretty slow. What did you guys think?

Hmm I dunno, I couldn't sit still during the first fight when the pred and alien came face to face, it was just like "... Finally". I managed to follow the action quite well.
Have you seen the trailers VD? There's more action in the trailer than the whole first AVP movie lol.

Yeah, Dante hits it on the head. The movie is...well...alright. You get your money's worth. Plus, it takes place like 50 miles from where I live.

Just got back from the cinema and I must say it was a really good film. I have no idea where my friend got the "it starts off slow" thing from because it was none stop action from start to finish!
I felt all the reference's to the first predator film was a bit cheesy because there was quite a few lol, but it didn't deter from the film at all.
My only complaint would be that the fighting in this was a bit hard to follow because it was really dark but I coped.
Spike, go see this movie. It outshines the first by miles.

I just got back from watching it, and I loved it.
There's a few flaws i could pick here and there, the main one being the darkness. Sometimes it's just too damn dark to see whats going on.
But I loved it right from Death #2 (You know what one I mean:p) I was like....oh, this is sick! (in the cool way)
Not an amazing film, but an awesome action sci-fi, the cgi and modeling was amazing....go see.
Plus, the Dark Knight trailer was one beforehand too, looks pretty spiffy.

Yeah there were a few flaws, the darkness pissed me off also. Did you catch the reference's to the Predator film? lol
But I agree that it was a great action sci-fi flick.
We weren't treated to the Dark Knight trailer. Instead we got CloverField. Didn't mind though, obviously lol.

I got the Dark Knight Trailer....it will PWN. I also got the "Pakipsie tapes" I know I spelled it wrong, and I'm too tired to look up how to spell it, anyone else get that?
I edited this for spoilers for those who do not want to be spoiled.
AVP-R could have been better, My only complaints were darkness, as everyone has mentioned, and why would they only send one predator, is he like the biggest, most badass predator ever? He had to be, cause the Alien/Predator combo thing looked pretty Bad ass. Also, why the hell are they gonna learn about the gun at the end? and what significance did that women play? so many damn questions! damn you AVP-R! for leaving feeling like I feel when I watch Lost.

Ricky I'll type what I know in white so it doesn't spoil anything for people who ain't seen it.
[white]Yeah that Predator was a kind of clean-up-gets-the-job-done pred. Takes no ****. And that women was part of some military force, that's how she knew how to drive that armoured car, and also the helicopter. Pretty stupid that she didn't once mention she was in the military, everyone just assumed she could do these things anyway lol. Right at the end when she is hugging her daughter and the camera starts rising, I was really hoping a chest burster popped out killing both her and her daughter, that would of been a cool and shocking end.[/white]

Well...for those of us who have the funky red and black skin, Manson just ruined the ending but seeing as nobody has said anything, I'm gonna assume I'm the only one who has it, lmao. My thoughts in white V I was hoping the soldiers at the end where hundreds of face-huggers, oh well. And I think they're trying to make the AVP films prequels to Alien(s) i.e. before we have space travel

Lmao I didn't know there was another skin to use.
Sorry dudes, just don't read my post before Spike's lol.
And it's not like I've spoilt the ending really, I just said "at the end". There's a bit more to it than that.
And you're correct Spike, these films are being treat as prequels to the first Alien movie.
