"And so it happened. The mere mortal beat the God of New Championship Wrestling. The man who has been in and out of this promotion more then anyone else defeated the Angel that everyone spoke of with such fear in their eyes. Angel I tried to imply not to underestimate me but yet I think you did. That look in your eyes when I saw you tonight in the middle of that ring. You had that look like you've already won.
Wasn't the way you wanted to go was it?
Such is the life in wrestling, am I correct? I mean people like you try to cast down on others because we might not have been around as long as you have, that we haven't gathered the accolades like you have. So now you have to go into your World Title match with yet another loss on your mind, wondering deep down if you really are as great as you say you are.
Not so much fun when you're on the wrong end of is it?
But enough about you. I noticed that the A Night To Remember card came out awfully quickly which made me a little happy, I hate having to wait a day or two to know who I face. I like to get a little more prepared when its a pay per view, more so when it's one of this magnitiude. A Night To Remember, the name itself gives me goosebumps, pumps a little extra something through my veins and it just gives me a feeling of knowing that I've accomplished something just to get on the show itself.
This show, in the historic Madison Square Garden just has that feeling to it that it'll be something special. From that main event to the opening Wired match, every single match is a treat and an honor to view or be apart of. I know I'm sounding really lame right now but I just feel the best I have in a couple of years. Really since my first set of twins with Megan were born.
I think I've finally came to grips that I can't be Superman. That I can't be worrying about them back at home and trying to accomplish my dreams, the ones I have left in this business anyways. That one small realization has finally set in and I think it's for the better...
"Though I'm not too sure if anyone else will think the same as I do right now. There was a time in my career where I wasn't such a lame wad. I used to be a guy who would show up on time every single week and give it his all night in and night out. I used to be a model wrestler for others to look up to. But the past two years, I've been one of the worst in the world at showing what I can do.
In the simplest terms, by beating Angel, I think I've gotten my swagger back. Just by beating someone like him, I feel like I can do anything again. I don't feel overwhelmed, I don't feel over matched nor do I feel like I've lost a match before I even stepped foot into that ring. It's so easy to talk a big game like I would but I never could back it up. The one time I doubt myself, the one time I openly admit I'll get beaten by a better man, the opposite happened.
In those three seconds that it took for me to pin Angel, I got it all back in an instant. Yeah my shoulder is hurting right now but there wasn't any serious damage done to it. I'll be perfectly fine in time for A Night To Remember which might not bode so well for the five men that'll be stepping into the ring with me to open the show, to set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Against these five men, we'll be competing for something quite valuable. A title shot, for any title whenever we would like to use it. That glorious open contract that allows the holder the right to have a title match whenever they want it. Think if someone used that shot right after that triple threat World Title match and walked away from A Night To Remember with the championship. Think of how someone's career, like Jason Blair's could change just like that.
Someone like DDK getting a shot at whatever he would possibly want, though I would venture the Xtreme Title in his mind. The guy is crazy and always has been. I remember him from back in the day. I remember you DDK, you and your brother. How I wasn't ever able to beat either of you in those xtremely hardcore days. Such a stain on my career that I wasn't able to pin either of you.
A shame that your brother lost a battle with a bottle of pills. I'm sorry, that was rude of me, we all have our problems and it really was a shame that he passed in the manner that he did. But I think we can all take something and learn from it. Everything in this life is something we can learn from. Though I'm not too sure in your state of mind, DDK, that you'd be able to learn anything at all.
I wish I knew more about you people but I just don't have a clue other then that Jason Blair turned on his long time friend Mike Machado some time ago and has struck out onto his own path. I wish him well but you just don't mess with a man like that. The mustache is so much mightier then we are Jason. You evil, evil little man!
Isn't Chris Payne second generation? Quite an accomplishment but for the love of all that is great in the world, don't go running around calling yourself a five star athlete. We have enough of that as it is.
Pretty sure I'm forgetting a couple of people right now too but I'm sure they'll yell at me for forgetting who they are. Sorry but I'm just a little out of it right now gents, my shoulder and all. So, at A Night To Remember. We'll see who gets that contract for any title shot when they want it. I'd like to think it'll be me but I'll just wait and see.
Hey, that kinda rhymed, awesome."
