We open up in the hallway of a hotel, where a man from the nCw production crew is seen trying to set up the right background for whoever. He slowly tries to set up the lamp perfectly, as Charlie Velez walks onto screen, watching the guy do his work.
“Hard work?” Charlie says.
The production worker looks back at Charlie, nodding his head.
“Yeah, I mean I can’t seem to get the right angle so there’s more light on you.”
Charlie looks around, observing the area around him. He thinks to himself, hard by the way he’s rubbing his chin, and comes up with an idea.
“You know what, come over here.”
Charlie signals for the production worker to come over, and turns him into the perfect direction, back facing Charlie.
“Where do you want me-“the production worker begins to say, but before he could finish his sentence Charlie lifts up his boot, and shoves the man out of the picture. Charlie threatens to slap the man if he gets near him.
“I look good in any light you doofus!”
Charlie Velez begins adjusting his suit, before turning towards the camera.
“Now, before I start going on my rants about A Night to Remember, I have a few things to address, and a few people to verbally pimp slap, so this might take a while.”
Charlie Velez begins to clear his throat, and pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket. He begins to read from it.
“From this point, I will be giving my main responsibilities of Velez Industries to none other than my beautiful wife, Annette Velez. The move was to make more focus on my wrestling career, because to be honest to you people, I love my wrestling career more than I love the politics of the work industry. I mean, power is great, but I have more fun slamming heads into mats and cracking skulls with steel chairs. With that said, I want to point out to all the haters that couldn’t find me ‘believable’ that you have released something worse, something more destructive that you could have gotten before…now you get the arrogant, self loving son of a bitch that ran wrestling for years! Good job guys, you pissed off the wrong man. I mean come on, now you get the egotistical Charlie Velez, the Charlie Velez that will show off his six pack abs and wink to the camera to all of the viewers watching; you get the darker Charlie Velez, the guy who will do anything and everything. The Charlie Velez that will not be afraid to take pot shots at emo pricks who keeps mentioning his name in his promos, but couldn’t say it directly to his face.”
Charlie shrugs his shoulders, throws out the piece of paper, and whispers to the camera.
“I’m flattered Mr. Phoenix, but I have bigger fish in the sea to fry.”
Charlie shrugs his shoulders, mouths the words “sorry”, and then goes back to more important matters.
“But that’s the past, no more swimming in the money for me, talking about the money I makes, I think I’ve driven that point down all of your throats, there are more important matters. A Night to Remember, nCw’s biggest paper per view, the ‘big show’ as people like to call it, I finally get my shot. I get the opportunity of the lifetime, as I battle for the National Championship. I have to fend off two superstars though, the champion Xavier Cross and…my enemy turned family member turned enemy turned friend turned…yeah, Venom. A match almost guaranteed to steal the show, Charlie Velez finally gets his shining moment in the sun…but I tell you now I’m not going to burn out.”
“Let me look at the big picture here, my opponents. Xavier Cross, you’ve been a great champion. You’ve fought hard, you’ve done everything you could to keep the title, and blah blah blah blah blah…”
Charlie makes a face, keeps dragging out the “blahs”.
“And all that junk. You spend all your time talking about your past accomplishments, and your past times here and all the crappy stuff that happened to you before I showed my face around here. ‘Aw man I had bad stuff happen to me, but I overcame it!’ or ‘I win championships through heartbreak! Look at me!’ Serious, Cross, do you think these people care? Do you think about the stuff that happened to you in the past, how you fought through all this? Do you think we care about your dead wife and your kid? Cross, this is bigger than all of that, this is for the National Championship, something that I will take away from you, not just because I’m better than you but because…no, wait, I was wrong, it’s because I’m better than you. So your last match here in nCw will be full of emotions, the fans chanting your name, cheering you on. Screaming and chanting your name, and while you’re soaking in the cheers that are raining down onto you, I’m going to take advantage, and I’m going to slam you face down to the mat, and I’m going to pin you one…two…three…and I’m going to hold up your championship. And while the emotions are running through you and you walk to the back, trying to hold your head high for your final match just know that Charlie Velez is in fact better than you will ever be.”
Charlie shrugs his shoulders to be like “what else can I say?” and he goes back to talk.
“Now Venom, my brother in law, a long lasting friend. I love you man, I mean in a totally straight, heterosexual way. You know, like brothers and stuff. Hell, I love you more than I love my own brother. We’re going to do big things here in nCw, but listen to me Venom, we might be friends and we might be family, but this is my shot. This is my stepping stool towards the top of the nCw, and I’m going to do anything to prevent you from winning this match. We have a history, and yes, the bolts in my neck remind me of that every day. But just remember Venom, the last two times we stepped into the ring against each other, I have thrown you off a Tower, and then pinned you in the middle of the ring at the biggest show of the year. So in nCw’s biggest show of the year, can I do something similar, and get my hand raised in victory? The numbers don’t lie V, I step up on the big stage against you. The National Championship will be mine…”
Charlie Velez begins to think to himself, nodding his head.
“And then you can call me ‘The Nation’s Hero’ Charlie Velez. Yeah…I like the sound of that.”
Charlie nods his head, approving the words that he…just said. Yeah, that’s a good way to end a RP, with a stupid last sentence. Fade out.
