Lighting flashes in the sky while thunder cracks, causing a rumble on the ground. Rain is falling tonight, candles lit in the bedroom of Brad and Megan. Romantic music is playing lightly, the two smiling at one another. Megan gives him a kiss before they both raise up glasses and take a sip of wine. Sure neither of them care to drink much but at times like this, why not relax a little bit and enjoy one another. Brad leans back and looks at the ceiling, giant smile on his face. Megan gets out of her chair, sitting on his lap.
Megan: This is so nice. Sure it's storming out and everything but the...
She takes a moment to giggle.
Megan: Real thunder is happening in here. You and me and nothing but the meeting of our desires.
Brad brings his head back down and nods before kissing his wife's neck. Megan puts their glasses on a table, getting into the whole emotion that fills the room. Brad grabs her tightly, hugging her while still focusing on the neck area. Thunder is heard again, the lights starting to flicker.
Megan: I love you so much Bradley.
He stops for a moment, looking at his wife's eyes. So beautiful and so lovely.
Brad: I know you do. Though I probably love you more.
Megan: Impossible. I love you more then anything else.
Seems like these two are keeping this on like a giant status message on Facebook. No matter, the thunder striking again, the lights going off and on. Neither of them seem to care much, just snuggling together and gently kissing before it will ultimately progress into something else. Brad's hand begins to go south, Megan moaning gently.
Megan: Magic finger time huh?
Brad: Oh yeah. Magic finger time.
The two giggle but the door swings open with the frantic running of feet. This should've been expected, small children getting scared during a storm like this. Brad sighs, pulling his hand up from the nether regions. Megan gets off of his lap and goes to her chair. Lacey hops up on her dad's lap while Lilly goes onto Megan's. Sarah and Jennifer sit on the floor next to one another, all four of them really frightened.
Lacey: We're scared daddy!
Lilly: Lights went out mommy! Monster was gonna get us...
The two parents sigh before nodding their heads.
Brad: It's just a thunder storm. No monsters will get because they're scared of the lighting.
Lilly: But it grabbed Jenny!
Jenny is trying not to cry but it lets loose, she begins to wail away so very scared. Megan puts down Lilly, motioning for Jennifer to come over and get a hug. Jenny buries her head in Megan's shoulder, sobbing away.
Megan: Shhh, you're okay. Mommy has you now. She won't let anyone get you, okay?
Lacey: Can we sleep here tonight?
Brad: Yeah, I think we can do that. Mommy and daddy have a big bed so we can share it, okay?
Lilly goes and hops up, staking her spot. She helps up Sarah who curls up with a teddy bear in her arms. Brad stands up with Lacey and puts her on the bed. Jennifer is still crying not wanting to leave Megan's arms. Megan is singing into her ear, trying to get the toddler calmed down.
Brad: Wow, she's really upset.
Megan: I know, my poor baby.
Brad nods his head before leaving the room to grab more blankets and pillows. Along the way he passes Chris' room, noticing the door is cracked open, hearing sounds coming from the room. Moans like the kid is watching a porno. Brad smirks before going up to his door.
Brad: Quit watching that and go to bed.
He hears Chris yell loudly before he keeps walking on. Once at a closet, he grabs what is needed before turning around. Now standing outside of his room is Chris himself.
Chris: That was not funny dad.
Brad: And what'd I tell you about ordering that? Not until you're sixteen. Still too young to be watchin' that.
Chris: But you did!
Brad: And how many kids do I have?
Chris thinks about it for a moment, realizing that his dad's libido was probably warped by watching too much porn at that age though not his fault.
Chris: Right. Well I should get to bed.
Brad: Storm ain't scaring you?
Chris: Pft. I'll check on Ryan in a while for you. I imagine you and Meg... mom are busy with Lacey, Lilly and the twins right now.
Brad's walking lets Chris know his answer. Lacey has wandered out into the hall and grabs her daddy's leg. Brad chuckles starting to walk with her grasping onto it for dear life as the thunder claps again.
Lacey: Why is it so loudly?!
Brad: That's something only daddies know and they can't tell you under penalty of death.
Lacey: Okay...
Either she didn't get it or just wasn't listening, too busy trying remain brave. Brad finally gets back to the bedroom to see Lilly fast asleep with Sarah right next to her. Jennifer has stopped crying and is right next to Megan in the bed.
Brad: Got the blankets and pillows.
Megan: Alright. Come on in then. Try to find a space.
Lacey lets go and hops up onto the bed and waits for Brad to get in. He places blankets on everyone first, Megan included. He then lies down next to Lacey and shuts the lights off.
Brad: Alright girls, time to go to bed okay? If you don't get scared, daddy will give his brave girls a toy tomorrow.
He doesn't hear anything, everyone starting to fall asleep already. A slight smile is on his face, feeling pretty nice that his girls feel so safe in his presence.
"Last night as a night that I'll remember and hold in my heart for quite some time. There was a storm, a loud storm and my daughters knew that the moment they got into the bedroom that daddy would protect them from anything. It makes me feel like they can trust me no matter the situation and the love that they have for me is great. Such a nice feeling you know? There was a time in my life where I was hated by my own child, when I just had Chris.
I would neglect him much like you would imagine a wrestler would when he's on the road. It's a tough life. Though I won't make excuses. I was an ass and I feel like now is the road to my redemption for New Championship Wrestling. As much as I love my kids, as much as I love my wife, this road to redemption is what I need to do in this promotion.
I've had my ups and downs in this place and I think it's time that I really started to buckle down and begin my trek, my quest for glory and my way to not only matching that bastard Spike's name but showing people that he's the piece of crap of the two of us. I know I've gone through this before stating how this time it's real only to walk away a couple of days later but it seems like my chances of getting a job these days is getting smaller and smaller and if I don't make it work this time, I'm probably forced to go get a normal job.
The last normal job I had was working at a Subway. Not too much fun.
But that's beside the point. A Night to Remember was the night that I can really trace my problems to. My brother gave up on me and in turn, I started to give up on this company. If I couldn't rely on my own flesh and blood, why should I friggin' bother with this place. But now that he's moved on to some promotion where he gets his dick sucked on a daily basis by ego driven morons, I feel like now is the time to make my mark in this promotion.
No longer are the old demons from my past here. No longer is there a Lance Ryan to haunt me every step of the way. I feel as if I can walk through the valley of the shadow of death now. I feel like I can take on the world because the people of my past, the ones that really mattered, are long gone and forgotten.
At A Night to Remember, the Brad Kane that people have expected finally arrives. The guy that beat Angel will be here. That consistent wrestler who has been called one of the greatest strikers in the world will be a force in this promotion. I'm sorry to everyone else in the Showcase match but I need to beat you guys. I need to pin one of you in order to start that journey, start that road to glory and redemption.
The storm has passed now and it's time for the sun to shine. Pretty cliche right there but it's the way I feel. This is my time. This is the start of Brad Kane's legacy as a wrestler.
Oh and Doe, dude, calm down before you have a stroke. I don't need another Ace on my hands where I hear my own words thrown back at me. But did you not see my shoulder go through hell in order to beat Angel? Do you not know I have eight kids to think about and how I need to take care of them.
So I forgot about you for a damn second. Boo hoo. I even knew someone would get all pissy about it anyways. Looks like I was right so thanks for reassuring my faith in typical overreaction. Doesn't matter much though, you're still facing a man who is more focused on redemption then whatever your life story or problems are.
Peace."
