[By hook or by crook, InFamous is your new nCw World Tag Team Champions. Jimmy Zane and Kristoff Liam Bates, with the help of Dominicus, aka Rob Diamond, suckered Nelly into this match only to keep the title belts around the waste of InFamous. A new resting place for gold to be sure, however, this week Jimmy and Bates have a tall task ahead of them in their first title defense.
INFAMOUS WILL TAKE ON PHILLIP BURNS AND FALCON AT A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
A bombshell to say the least, but that's what management wanted, right? They wanted a great Tag Team Championship match for the biggest show of the year. A match worthy of this special night. A match that will steal the show. You won't remember the World Title Match. You won't remember the National Title Match. You won't remember the XDivision match. Hell, you won't even remember nCw's first ever....
CASKET MATCH!
Oh no. When the stories are told of this night, there is only one match that will be on the minds and hearts of fans, wrestlers and historians alike. Only one match that will turn into fables father's will tell their children as bed time stories. Their eyes will grow wide with wonder as their father's spew forth the events of this night as if they were right there. The memories will be so thick they will have to swat them away from their faces. Their kids will listen with wonder and amazement and remember every word of it. And when they have children of their own, they will pass that story to them, and so on and so forth until that match....
IS INFAMOUS!
But I digress, good people of New Championship Wrestling. This is a match that will remembered for the battle all four men put on in the ring. It's a battle that could possibly go down as one of the bloodiest matches in recent history. There is no love lost between InFamous and Falcon, and Jimmy and Burns have a past. Although that past is several years old, it exists nonetheless. But this isn't about the past anymore. Not for Jimmy and Bates. This is about proving that they have no plans on dropping the tag titles this week. This is about the future, and proving that InFamous is the greatest assortment of superstars ever put together in the history of this company. The future looks bright for InFamous. I feel sorry for people like Burns, Falcon, Knite and the rest, they desperately cling to their fading spotlight. Because they all know in their minds and in their hearts that InFamous is the best thing to come along EVER. So sit back, put on your seat belts and get ready for a hell of a ride. Because Sunday will definitely be...
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!]
(The scene fades in and we see Jimmy Zane sitting by himself on some sort of patio. As the camera pans back you can see the skyline of New York City. Manhatten to be exact. He is overlooking Gramarcy Park, one of the only private parks remaining in New York. He looks out among the travelers walking on the streets a few stories below. Behind him, Joss appears with a couple of bottled waters and sits down next to him. He looks over and smiles at her. He takes the bottle and holds it for a moment, looking back out over the park. Joss breaks the silence.)
Joss - You are nervous about this weekend, aren't you?
Yeah, a little bit. I worked my ass off to get to this point where I can proud to wear championship gold. I don't want to let Bates or myself down and walk out Madison Square Garden a loser.
Joss - You won't, Jimmy. You are the best one of them all. Isaiah 40:31 says "but those who hope in the LORD, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint".
Yeah, well, it's hard to fly with eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys.
Joss - (smiling) What's that supposed to mean?
Nothing.
Joss - Are you sure?
Absolutely.
(Jimmy twists the cap off the water and drinks about half of it and sits it back down. He takes in a deep breath and rests his head in his hands. Joss gets up and stands behind him, rubbing his shoulders. He closes his eyes and tries to relax.)
Joss - You know, Jimmy, you just have to let some things be. Just go with the flow. Being so tense and wound up over it is only going to make your performance in the ring worse, not better. Just be yourself and you will be just fine. I know it in my heart.
You know, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said that "in life, man must be the hammer or the anvil". Sometimes I feel like the hammer. Raining down pain on whatever get's in my way. Then, some days I feel like the anvil. Tough as nails, and unmoving. Unrelenting. Then some days, I just feel like I am stuck between the two. Get hammered into the abyss by life with no visible way out of the darkness that comes during that time.
Joss - Wow. That's deep.
(Snickering) Yeah, I know. When I was on the road last year, I found a book of Longfellow in my bag. Not sure how it got there, or who put it there, but I just started reading it. The more I read it, the more I wanted to read. It's funny, it's almost like it was put there as a guide for my life. Since then, things have been up and down, but every time I feel like getting down, or wanting to quit and walk away, something from that book begins to echo in the recesses of my mind and I keep pushing forward.
Joss - Example?
Well, a few weeks ago I contemplated quitting. I felt I was going through a rough patch that I wouldn't come out of. I felt that everything was caving in on me and there was no escape. And in the back of my head I kept recalling this phrase from the book.
Joss - What was the phrase?
"Into each life some rain must fall." Meaning everyone will have bad times. I just thought about it, and pushed through the hard times.
Joss - That's deep, Jimmy. I mean seriously deep. It's like you are on a whole new plain of existence or something.
(Jimmy picks his head up and looks at Joss. Her serious face goes to a huge smile and they both start laughing. He turns in his chair and grabs her and pulls her into his lap. The scene fades as they laugh and he kisses her sitting in his lap.)
..::LATER THAT EVENING::..
(The scene fades in and Jimmy is at Madison Square Garden preparing for one of the pre-show interviews that is required of most of the performers on the show. He is in his dressing room psyching himself up. The door opens up and the camera crew comes in and begins setting up. Jimmy turns around and looks at himself in the mirror. He goes over everything that has happened so far leading up to the biggest show of the year. He breathes a deep breath and relaxes just as the notorious Chad Lights walks in.)
Chad - Jimmy! Good to see you buddy!
(Jimmy rolls his eyes as he turns around. The shine from his newly won tag team championship belt glares against the overhead lighting. Jimmy extends his hands and shakes Chad's. His stomach turns inside as he does, he can't stand Lights. The guy is a sniveling little weasel who is only out to kiss management ass and make Jimmy and the rest of InFamous look like idiots. Jimmy sits down and Chad sits opposite him. The camera guys indicate they are ready, so Chad jumps right in.)
Chad - Hey folks, Chad Lights here with one half of the newly crowned Tag Team Champions, Jimmy Zane. Now Jimmy, you guys picked up the belts in controversial fashion last week, and seemingly as punishment, you will be defending them this week against Phillip Burns and his surprise tag team partner, Falcon.
Wait a minute? Controversial fashion? We won the belts fair and square, Chad, or were you not paying attention? We got the pin and the win. The 1..2..3! That's why we are the world champions, buddy.
Chad - But Lord Dominicus' tag team partner is also your stable mate. He turned on Nelly, costing them the tag titles.
Hey, we can't help what goes on with other tag teams, Chad. Stablemate or not, Rob is a competitor and doesn't lose on purpose. I don't care what you saw, or what you heard, we won those titles on national TV. Plain and simple. So either call it like it is, or don't call it at all. Got it?
Chad - OK. Well, what did you think about Falcon joining forces with Burns to face you guys this week for those titles.
I didn't think much of it at all, Chad. You see, We kicked the crap out of Falcon a couple of months ago. We don't care if he has come back as nCw's crusader or just an asshole with a score to settle. What we care about is walking out of Madison Square Garden STILL the World Tag Team Champions. I am sure when, and if, you talk to Burns, he will tell you about all the times he beat me a couple of years ago. Now, he did beat me, that's in the record books, and I can't dispute that, however, it was years ago. He hasn't done anything substantial since Angel carried him all that time as the tag team champs, and how long ago was that?
GIVE ME A BREAK!
These guys have never teamed together before. Bates and I are a well oiled machine. We are two of the most dangerous competitors in this company when we are solo. When paired together, we are the unstoppable force that will impose its will on anyone and everyone who gets in our way. I don't care if its Falcon and Burns, Ozzie and Harriet, Laurel and Hardy, Blondie and Dagwood, or even Abbot and Costello.
Chad - Abbot and Costello?
Yeah, you know who's on first?
Chad - Who?
Right!
Chad - Who are you talking about?
The guy on first!
Chad - .......
Nevermind that, Chad! Why the hell are you trying to sidetrack this conversation? Damn, man!
Chad - Let's get back on track. You say that InFamous is the Unstoppable Force. But what happens when that Unstoppable Force meets the Immovable Object of Burns and Falcon?
YOU GET BURNT CHICKEN!
(Jimmy stands up and pushes Light's chair over backwards and then turns and spins the camera to focus only on him. He then looks dead into the camera and continues.)
Listen up, boys. This isn't some game we are playing. This is serious business. This is for the nCw World Tag Team Championships and I will be damned if I am going to let the pair of you come in and take them off of me and Bates. You can have your vendettas and scores to settle and whatever the hell else you want. The bottom line is, it took us forever to get this gold around our waists and we aren't ready to let them go just yet.
NOT BY A LONG SHOT!
You see, I have been hooked on this book I found a little while back. It's a bunch of quotes by this cat Longfellow. He seemingly has a saying for every part of life. One of my favorites is "If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody". When I really think about it as it applies to me, my life, and my career, I think it means that the louder and harder I knock on that door of success someone is bound to wake up and hear it. Someone is bound to wake up and notice the talent they have right in front of them. My time is coming and there is nothing either one of you can do about it. And when Bates and I dispose of you two and walk out still the nCw Tag Team Champions, it will be just another notch in our belts. And once again, in front of the world, you will be beaten by Kristoff Liam Bates and a ....
2ND GENERATION WRESTLER...
A 5 STAR ATHLETE...
AND SOMEONE WHO IS 10 TIMES BETTER THAN YOU!
(Jimmy leans in real close to the camera.)
DO YA HEAR ME KNOCKIN?
(Scene fades to black.)
