I have to say that I am partial to the Nature Boy myself... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Then Bret Hart......then Hogan....no matter how old and slow he got in his later years, he was the reason wrestling was really big... WHATCHA GONNA DO, BROTHER!?!?

you left out the people who really would do anything to entertain. terry funk mick foley and necro butcher would go wrestlemania quality for a tiny arena with 17 fans those are real entertainers. not to discredit the achievements of the men listed before i just believe they perform in a more safe inviorment making the entertainment value watered down considerably just my opinion but i think the funker is the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be and yes i did steal that from bret hart

The greatest wrestling performer is a tie between two people...bad thing is, they are both dead. Best two are Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit...yeah, Benoit, murder or not, he is/was still amazing.

I'd say for pure wrestling ability it's a tie between two men who fought a while ago. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. I'm talking of them both at their primes, about the time they put on that absolutely brilliant technical match-up. It's just a shame Benoit went the way he did and a shame Kurt's determined to kill himself by wrestling against medical advice. At least that's what I've been told.

Okay, I can agree with Benoit. His Japan stuff in the 90s was straight up awesome... actually, there was never a time where I couldn't sit back and enjoy his work. Fantastic stuff all the way.
But Kurt Angle? Pre neck surgery I would have been up there with you but since his first surgery, he has been so inconsistent it makes me want to cry. The only match that was great he was in since his first surgery was against Eddie at WM XX. Great match but everything besides that felt like the same thing. You all probably think I'm crazy but in the past four years, Angle has been a marginal worker for the most part. His matches against Samoa Joe were/are less then good. Only the second encounter was worth a damn. Not to mention the fact that why was able Joe able to carry Steiner to a very passable match when Angle and Steiner was pure crap.
Maybe I'm just bitter and jaded but Kurt Angle is the most overrated worker... barring 1999-early 2003. You can't honestly tell me Angle is a better worker now then back in 2001-2003 when he put on good to fantastic matches with nearly everyone on the roster. But anymore, he only tries to use three moves. German Suplex, Angle Slam, Ankle Lock. Don't get me wrong, the ankle lock is a good submission move but when Angle tries for it about ten times in a match, it devalues the move greatly.
So in closing... Benoit was near God status during his prime. His after prime, he could still work circles around 3/4 of the current wrestlers around the world. Mind you that includes all the fantastic puro workers most of you have never heard of and nearly all the workers in the US. I would have loved to seen Benoit vs. Bryan Danielson at any point. But it won't happen. We all gotta live with Benoit did.
But Angle... not even close to being the greatest of all time. Then again, it's all our opinions and everything but I just figured I share my two cents with the two best "workers" (Workers in quotation marks because of post 2003 surgery Angle till current) in the past decade as far as main stream goes.

I've watched wrestling since I was a child Adam, and Hogan sucked back then.
Maybe if you weren't so brainwashed, you'd realise that just because a bunch of faggots scream like crazy when his name is mentioned, and just because they make a lot of money off him doesn't mean he's a great wrestler at all....case and point? John Cena. So in your face dillweed.
To me the best "wrestler" in the last decade or so? It'd be along the lines of the Undertaker. Somebody who didn't mind putting people over, somebody who worked hard...and contrary to what people think Triple H was very much the same...come on, who else would put that waste of space, time, effort and money Goldberg over?
The "glory" days of Ric Flair are long over. In his heyday Flair and Hogan were awesome....nowadays? They're said pathetic old men clinging to their spots.
Wrestling needs more people like Taker and Funk...people happy to make new guys.

Am I the only guy here who has love for the greatest heel of all time, the God of Memphis Wrestling, Jerry "The King" Lawler? I have a 5-disc compilation of classic wrestling matches (Read: old matches with poor film quialty), and there's so much Lawler on there... you watch that guy, you'll see what a true heel is supposed to be. He plays the spectrum, he gets the crowd involved, and most importantly, he makes the face look DAMN good.

I think you'll find we are. It's just that our opinions differ from yours. Of all time doesn't exclude the past few years or the last decade so there's nothing to stop us from having the opinion that the greatest of all time exists within that bounds.
