I agree, I think it's a knee jerk reaction to the Gasol trade by the Lakers, and a move that could now move the Jazz up into the Suns's spot from last year.

Here's the thing:
Shaq at the 5 and Amare at the 4 makes them MUCH better defensively, and doesn't kill them on offense. For this year, it's the best move to help them defend teams like Lakers (Bynum/Gasol) and Spurs (Duncan/anyone) since Amare can't really defend guys bigger than 6'9" and Marion is a better weak side defender than he is straight up guy. So for D purporses, this is a good deal for Phoenix if 1) Shaq comes back healthy and 2) He is invigorated by the chance to get a 5th title like he was in 2005.

maybe but on the same token the suns are going to have to totaly change up their offensive style they are not going to be running and gunning as offten anymore and thats what made them into a very effective team. edit Shaq's uni already onsale |

Steve Kerr wanted this to happen. Who is PHX's GM or something higher up. He and the coach have been clashing on styles for a while now. Steve Kerr wants to get Barbossa involved in more mins and samething with G. Hill
