Act 1: Do I look like the Italian Stallion?
BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ.
A slender hand smacks the alarm clock that was sitting beside the bed on the small nightstand. The alarm soon stopped buzzing, and we soon see Joanne turn over looking at the clock, and sighs. It was 4 am. She slowly made her way out of the bed, and headed for the living room, where she finds Rude dressed in a pair of sweats, with Reno dressed in his usual deep blue suit, on the couch. Joanne just sighs and stretches slightly, as the white tank top lifts slightly, revealing the lower part of her chest. Reno's eyes get big, as she lowers her arms once again, and looks over at Rude.
Joanne: Is this really necessary? I mean it's four in the mornin' and the sun won't be up for at least another two hours.
Rude: Do you think Tara and Freya are still asleep? They want to win this match just as bad as you do. Now here... Drink this.
Joanne looks at the glass and shakes her head. There in the glass had to be at least four raw eggs, and there was no way she was going to drink it without getting sick.
Joanne: Forget it. I'm not goin' to drink that. Besides I doubt Tara got any sleep considerin' that she's with Angel now.
Reno: That's right. Damn...
Rude: She's got Angel helping her get ready for this match, and you have me. He's an ex World Champion, and I am ex Golden Gloves winner. Ok it's not as great as the World Title, but it'll have to do. We're going to get you ready for this match no matter what it takes, so drink it.
Joanne: No... Cook them first then we'll talk.
Rude: You maybe my boss, but I'm your manager, now drink!
Both: DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!
Joanne looks at the glass and grabs it from Rude's hand, downing it, only to make a face and shakes from head to toe.
Reno: I can't believe she did it.
Joanne: That was awful. I'm goin' back to bed.
Rude: No you don't. Go and get changed, we're going for a run this morning. We're going to start you on a strict diet, and workout routine every morning until your match. We'll have you ready to take on Tara and Freya on Sunday night even if it kills you.
Joanne: Fine... I'll be back in a minute.
Joanne walks back into the master bedroom and sighs, turning on the small lamp that sat beside the bed. The clock read 4:15 am, and she sighs. She had never been up this early even when she was training for any of her other matches. She walks to the closet and digs out a black and white hoodie, and pants that match and tosses them on the bed.
Joanne: I can't believe I'm doin' this. I have never been put through this, but I know that after I'm done with this trainin' there is little hope that either you or Freya will be standin' after I'm done with you two this time around. I'm not goin' to back down, and I will not give you time to even lay a hand on me. Try to take me down and we'll see what happens.
Joanne tosses on the black and white hoodie over the white tank top that she wore, and put the dark pants on over the shorts that she wore, before heading out into the living room where the guys were waiting. She slips into a pair of high heels, and heads for the door, as Rude sighs.
Rude: You can't run in high heels. Get into your running shoes, and we'll get going. We're going to run to the arena and back.
Joanne: Are you kiddin' me? That's all away across town.
Rude: I know. Let's get going. Reno you drive behind her, and if she starts to slow down, you hit her with the car.
Joanne: You hit me with the car, and you won't have any balls left.
Rude: That's my girl. Get pissed, and with that, lets go.
Joanne puts the hood up on her hoodie and follows Reno and Rude out of the suite, leaving Scarpaci behind. The cold had set in bad, and a days rest was all he needed. The antibiotics that the doctor had given Joanne started to kick in, and she was feeling better then she had been the last two days. They head for the stairs instead of the elevator, and she runs down all the flights with Rude and Reno following behind her. They reach the lobby, and Joanne heads outside with the guys following behind.
Reno: You think she can do it?
Rude: She can if she wants to win that match on Sunday night. Go get the car, and we'll meet you at the arena.
Reno: Right. Be careful man.
Reno walks off to get the car, while Rude catches up to Joanne. The two of them run along the sidewalk, as the moon shines down on them, as they move through the quiet morning. The air had a chill to it, but it felt good against her skin as she ran The streets were silent, except for the newspaper truck dropping off the daily news on a few street corners.
Joanne:*Voice Over*Freya how far will you push yourself for our match? Will you just sit there and watch the promo's that I and Tara have done and hope for the best or will you do somethin' about it to gain the upper hand on Sunday night? I'm glad that Rude is pushin' me to the limit, because I know that I am better then you. When I stand in the middle of the ring on Sunday night, when you look at me, you'll see someone that has pushed their body, and mind to the limit to get another win over the likes of you. There is no way out of this match, unless you are willin' to give up before the bell even sounds, or don't show. That would be such a shame, because I want to see how long you can stand against me, before you hit that mat and beg to have it all end. I'm not one that shows mercy, and I plan on takin' you and Tara out and makin' sure that neither one of you gain another win, or get any closer to facin' Zelda once again. It will be my night to shine, while you two fade into the background once again to where you belong.
Joanne smiles to herself as she sees the sky starting to lighten up. It wouldn't be long before the sun was up and another day in the city would begin once again. She runs a little bit faster as she pushes herself a little more, taking deep breathes as she does. Her feet hit the pavement with more speed, as she keeps running trying to keep with Rude, as the scene fades to black.
Act 2: It's My Time to Shine
The scene reopens on the arena where Reborn will happen in just a few days. The sun was just starting to come up over the horizon and the sound of heavy breathing could be heard, as the camera pans to show Joanne and Rude running up to the main doors of the arena. She soon stops and leans against the railing that went around the building. The run had worn her down some but she still had a lot left in her. Rude leans against the railing as well as Reno pulls up behind them, and hops out.
Reno: You guys ok?
Joanne: Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little winded. Damn that was a great run.
Rude: You did good boss. We just have to head back now that's all.
Joanne: Shame... I wanted to get in and check this place out before Sunday night, but it's alright. Let's go.
Rude just nods, and starts running once again, as Reno hops back into the car following Joanne and Rude once more. Joanne's thoughts begin to wander back to the match on Sunday night once more, as she continues to run.
Joanne:*Voice Over*Tara you must be thrilled that you finally confessed your love to Angel, but have you forgotten what's really important? I think you have. Our match is on Sunday night, and all you can do it play kissy kissy with Angel. Love is somethin' that always seems to get in the way of such important thin's and then you get soft. From what I've seen that's gone on between the two of you so far, you are startin' to become soft. It's a shame really, I wanted to face you while you were strong and willin' to be beat the holy hell out of someone. You're gettin' soft and that means you won't be at your strongest, and it should be simple enough to take you and Freya down. I've fallen for guys time and time again, only to be burned. I hope that happens to you, even though I could care less to what happened between the two of you... I know that it would cause you to be your usually pissed off self, and give me the fight that I want on Sunday night. I want to see that look of hate in your eyes when you look at me, I want to see that rage that you have, but I know that's goin' to be impossible since you started to become a little pussy b*** that wants nothin' more than to spend time with your sweet Angel.
Joanne continues to run, as the sound of her cell phone is heard. She comes to a stop and answers it, as Rude looks back at her, with Reno pulling to the side of the road, and waits for them. She looks back at Reno in the car, and then at Rude, before she leans against the railing that lined the road.
Joanne: Hello?
Voice: It's me.
Joanne: Davis... I'm glad to hear from you. I was startin' to get worried. Where are you? Never mind... You never know who is listenin'.
James Davis: I'm safe, but I got a call last week that I think you need to know about.
Joanne: I'm glad to hear that you're safe, but what was the call about?
James Davis: Vincent is dead. He tried to tell me who was behind the attempt on your life, but... They killed him before he could tell me, but I have a feeling it's someone that knows you. I'm just not sure who.
Joanne looks over her shoulder, at Reno and Rude, and sighs knowing that they wouldn't do it. But there had to be someone that wanted her out of the picture.
Joanne: Hell that's nothin' new. There's always someone out there that wants me dead. I have a feelin' whoever it is that's tryin' to kill me will make himself known before to long. Keep yourself hidden and make sure that you are not followed.
James Davis: Don't worry about me. I'll be fine.
Joanne: Alright. I'll see you soon.
Joanne hangs up the phone, and looks at Rude, with a sigh. She had to watch her back now, and make sure that everyone around her could be trusted. She had seen her mother die, because her father had trusted one of his bodyguards a little to much.
Rude: Is Davis alright?
Joanne: Yeah... He's in hidin' and he's safe for now at least.
Rude: Good. He's a good guy, wish we could help him take out whoever tried to knock you off.
Joanne: I know. But he can handle it... I know he can. C'mon I want to get back and get somethin' to eat.
Joanne puts the phone back in her hoodie pocket and starts to run once more, with her thoughts racing.
Joanne:*Voice Over*Tara Sunday night will be your downfall, and I will be the one that stands in the middle of the ring, with my hand raised in victory with another win under me, and just another step closer to facin' whoever has the Women's Title at the end of Sunday night. I just hope you'll be ready to face me once again, and be willin' to lose, because I'm not givin' up without a fight. Everyone seems to be bettin' against me, and sayin' that I'm the underdog in this match. I'm goin' to prove everyone wrong and show the world that I will do anythin' and everythin' to stop you and Freya, so I can win this match. Bring everythin' that you have on Sunday night, because I know I will, and I will not stop until I get what I want. We are the Mafioso, and we get paid to kick your ass! See you soon ladies.
She starts picking up speed, and passes Rude. He stops in his tracks and just smiles as he watches her run. Rude knew that with his training she would win the match on Sunday night. He runs at a decent pace trying to keep with Joanne, but is still left behind as they near the hotel, as the scene fades to black.
