"She is out of our hands Tempestad...
She has walked willingly into the arms of darkness, believing he is something capable of giving her what she needs...
He is nothing more than a leech, sustaining his own existance at the cost of hers...
When she ceases to be useful...
When she ceases to believe his every lie..
He will abandon her to the vultures and wolves...
Left alone..
Left to die...
Pushed into a hole she cannot climb out of...
Pressed into service she cannot escape...
This is what will become...
I have seen it...
I'm sure you have seen it...
And there is nothing we can say to her...
Nothing we can ply against her...
Nothing that will save her...
She is out of our hands...
But not...
Out of our fists...
She enjoys watching me suffer does she?
She knows not what suffering I can endure...
Or for that matter...
The suffering he will endure.
I will destroy the plague upon this city...
By destroying the city itself...
Then... we can rebuild...
Paradise..."

{Karras stood at the pulpit, finishing his sermon. The chair next to him was empty, a very unusual emptiness that had rarely been seen. The congregation was quiet, reserved more so than usual, perhaps it was because of this emptiness, or perhaps he was just imagining things. Even so, he finished up with his usual repore.}
Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, "I'll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel."
Genesis 29:18
Karras: Love is not a measure of desire. It is not simply you're wishes to be with a person, or your desire to spend time speaking with them. Love is not something you can measure by how you feel. It is a whole hearted sacrifice of everything you hold dear. If you're a violent man, you have to be willing to stay your hand when it calls for it. Some people cannot. Some people continue to act for themselves, and craft excuses for why they do, using others thoughts and feelings as a mere tool for their own agendas. That is not love.. that is merely the lust...
For power...
Power above all else, power over another, over those you "love", over strangers. That's all it can be about. And that is not the path to walk my children. Stray down there too far, and it becomes a hopeless pursuit to find the light again. And those who cannot find the light again...
Must be purged...
{There was a quiet murmur among the people seated before him. This was a strange day. First the emptiness, then Father himself seemed to be more curt, more advocated to destruction than he had been previously. Lastly, there was a strange scar on his forehead, something nobody could remember noticing before.}
Karras: That is all for today my children, I shall see you back here next Saturday. Go with God.
Crowd: Amen, Father.
{Slowly the people began to file out, quiet whispers amongst themselves told what rumors they had heard, and what they themselves were speculating. Some of it true, some not, some outright grossly overexagerated fabrication, but they were not sure. A shy girl, name of Amanda, approached Karras as he collected his things.}
Amanda: Father?
Karras: Yes, my child.
Amanda: I couldn't help but notice...
{She paused, noting that he was staring at her with an impassive face, not the understanding look they had become accustomed to.}
Karras: Notice, my child?
Amanda: Yes.. that.. scar.. on your forehead..
Karras: Ahh yes, well, as some of you may be aware I have a second career as a wrestler.. such injuries are common, you see.
Amanda: Yes.. see.. that's what I wanted to talk about... Sister Desiree....
{Karras' eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly.}
Karras: What about her?
Amanda: Is she... ok..?
Karras: She is recovering from her Penance, my child. She will live, and hopefully, find God in the process, do not worry...
Amanda: I.. see..
Karras: Don't not give her another thought my child. I'm sure by next week she will be sitting back in her chair and you will forget this conversation ever took place.
{Amanda shirked away a little at the veiled threat, whether it was real or imagined, it was still there. She turned to go, stopping when she was a healthy distance away from him.}
Amanda: Just know Father.. I'm a fan of nCw.. and I know what you've done.. I'll pray for you..
{She turned back away from his chilling stare, and was gone.}

{No video. Simply audio.}
"Have you repented yet, Sinner?"
"You can kiss my ass you fu..."
{Her words were cut off by another scream. A different hiss, like one of seared flesh was heard. Desiree groaned, and her words came through clenched teeth.}
"I swear I'm going to get out of this.. and then.. I'll kill you.."
"You will do nothing of the sort. Believe it or not, I'm doing this because I love you.. and I will save you from the flames of hell..."
"You're a ****ing dead man! I'll cut your..."
{Again, she was cut off by a scream as another loud crack echoed on the audio. Then the sound of liquid hitting the floor...}
Drip...
