A lot of people seem to be wondering why I am not the NCW Women’s World Champion, at this very moment. Wondering how I wasn’t able to defeat Zelda for that championship, with all the odds in my favor…
This is what others were asking.
I couldn’t keep that smile off my face, though… pleased by the result that happened on Collision. Pleased because I am not the Women’s World Champion. It was a match that I could, in no way, win. Whether my arm was raised as the winner at the end of the bell or not. I would not have felt like a champion if I won it under those conditions; and I didn’t have to. Zelda won. The story goes on.
The only thing that had me frustrated to a small extent was having to re-earn what was already mine. The number one contender spot for the championship.

March 29, 2009
*Inside of a private hospital room, the lights are dimmed as we see that Tara Fenix is just staring up towards the ceiling… her breathing is steady, but we can see all the wounds that she carries from the war that she had just gotten out of. At the very corner of her eye, she can see a figure standing in front of the door - she figures it to just be the doctor, so she turns her head to face the window. Still able to see the figure through the reflection on the window. The door creaks open, and her eyes suddenly go wide as she lifts her head as much as her strength allows her, and when she looks back at the person that had walked into the room she finds that her eyes did not deceive her.
It was Angel.
Angel walked into the room very slowly, a small smile on his face while he pulls a chair over to the edge of the hospital bed. He crosses his arms across the edge of the bed, and Tara does her best to move but is unable to… even Angel puts his hand on her to try to keep her settled.*
Tara:
“When did you get here?”
Angel:
“A while ago. I saw your match… congratulations on the win.”
*Just hearing Angel say that made her smile.*
Tara:
“Thanks. How come you came here?”
*It was at this question that Angel seemed to be puzzled… his head lowered for just a moment before he lifted it back up and stared right into her eyes.*
Angel:
“I wanted to see you.”
*Her eyes never left Angel’s, and she longed to be able to reach her arm out for him… her hand moved very slightly, but she was too weak to be able to lift it. Angel noticed, and let his fingers glide up just to her forearm.*
Tara:
“I’m glad you came.”
My eyes were closed, and I just sat up at the end of the couch, my legs up to lay across the couch a bit. The voice of Angel brought me back to where I was, though. Here, and now.
Angel:
“You okay?”
At the question, I smiled and just nodded my head. I turned my head towards him, so that I could see him, and he came over and just sat next to me on the couch. My legs were behind him, so I turned to face him completely so that I could be more comfortable.
Tara:
“I’m fine. Are you, though?”
I could tell just by his body language that he wasn’t, but he still nodded his head. I didn’t want to make him tell me when something was on his mind… his eyes glanced towards mine every once in a while, but it seemed that he was trying to avoid eye contact.
Tara:
“Are you sure?”
Still failing to make eye contact with me, he answered.
Angel:
“Yeah.”
I sighed. There was no way that I could force him to tell me what was on his mind… I reached my hand forward, and took his hand to hold it with mine, which caused him to slowly turn his head. I smiled at him, which finally allowed him to smile.
Angel:
“Sorry about your loss.”
Tara:
“Why?”
Angel:
“I know how much you want the title.”
Tara:
“Not under those circumstances. I want to face Zelda when she’s at her best… believe me when I tell you, Angel, that was not my last opportunity. I’ll get my chance by beating all these other women this week. It’s just a matter of time. Are you ready for AJ?”
My question seemed to get to him… he nodded his head very slowly, and his eyes were still on mine.
Angel:
“I’m ready to get Hayleigh back.”
Tara:
“You will.”
This Sunday will be my third time in a match that will be fought for the number one contender spot for the NCW Women’s World Championship. Hopefully, just hopefully… it will mark the second time that I become the number one contender.
Something that I feel that I didn’t really… lose… from the very second that the bell sounded when I was victorious over The Cat Lady, to become the number one contender, I became excited for the chance. For the opportunity to face Zelda Knite in a rematch! It didn’t happen, though. Rob Diamond decided to throw his power around and try to get Zelda to lose that championship by screwing her out of it - this is her opponent speaking. You tried to screw her, Rob. Resilient as ever, though, Zelda was able to keep that title around her waist… she was able to walk out with that belt around her waist.
The point is that I didn’t get the rematch that I wanted. The fans didn’t get to see the rematch that they wanted to see…
And that number one contender spot was ripped away from me.
No problem. I have no problem getting back into the ring with the rest of the women on the roster, and determining who is going to become the number one contender. I have no problem going back out to that ring and earning it back… At Picture Perfect, I will be walking out as the number one contender. This time, though, I will not let my opportunity go to waste… it won’t be wasted in some match where someone else gets their way weaseled into it. It will go one way.
ONE ON ONE.
That’s looking a bit far ahead, though. This time, I’ll be getting into the ring with three women that I’ve never heard of… Maria Williams, and Megan Kane. I could go on with all of you about why none of them are going to win, and what they do too much of. Malice watched too much Alice in Wonderland, Megan Kane is too focused on sex than the actual match. Yeah, yeah. One of you said it. We don’t need to hear it again.
I’m not going to waste your time.
Instead, I’m going to say that I will be the one walking out with this victory. I will be the one walking out as the number one contender… because I’ve done it before. Because I know what it takes to get to that spot. Many of you know that I’m not going to take shortcuts to get there, because I won’t, but I know that I’ll get into that ring… and I’ll give everything that I have to get back to that spot. And get to the top.
It’s the only place for me.
For these newcomers that want to come in and start talking their trash, though… I encourage you to keep talking. And keep pushing your way to the head of the pack. One of these days, you may get there.
You just may beat me.
And… just for you.
You just may become… me.
This is what others were asking.
