“So I said, you can watch the tape of my match with him but good luck finding it because no one records webcasts.”
We open up on the Young Guns sitting around a card table joking around. They’re all chuckling at Venom’s own joke about himself being stuck on the webcast when his phone rings. Venom raises his eye brow as he looks at the caller ID.
“It’s my mom, just a moment.”
The guys talk amongst themselves while Venom talks intently on the phone and abruptly hangs up and stands up from his chair.
“I’ve gotta go. Charlie, how fast can you have the jet ready for me?”
Velez “When do you need it?”
“Twenty minutes ago.”
Doc “What’s happening? What’s wrong?”
“My sister-in-law is in the hospital, I have to get to Atlanta right away.”
Velez “Go, they’ll be ready by the time you get there.”
Charlie picks up his phone as Venom runs out the door and we fade.
We open back up on the inside of an empty plane. It’s dark as we fly through the night sky and the only light on is the light above the seat of Venom. He sits there with his head leaned foreword in his lap. He takes a deep breathe and looks up into the camera.
“Williams, I don’t have a whole lot to say to you about your big response to me. I don’t have a whole lot to say to your big response because you really didn’t say anything. You aren’t a man of many words; I’ve noticed that from the little of you that I have watched in the past. I have an obligation though, to verbally trash you as much as I possibly can, because for the second month in a row I’m charged with being the last man to try and add to the PPV buys by main eventing the web show.”
Venom shakes his head.
“Some people would be upset buy this. Some people would whine and cry that all there hard work didn’t get them onto the big show. Me, no, I’ll be alright. I don’t mind taking a back seat so that a few of the lesser known stars can use this time to shine. I don’t mind wrestling before the curtain drops so that men like Karras, Evans, and Tempestad can get a chance to showcase there talents. I take great honor in knowing that I am charged with the job of being the last man in line to try and serve up a few last minute pay per view buys so that those guys can entertain and possibly gain a few more fans.”
“I also take it as a great honor that Leonard Fox is giving me the opportunity to prove something. Not only to prove that what I’ve done in the past is not just BS and that all the hype surrounding me coming into this place was deserved, but the chance to prove that the NCW ring is in fact a better place with the Young Guns here.”
“You see, there is a “revolution” of sorts going on right now in NCW, and it is not the first time. A small group of people have begun to form to try and slow down Mr. Fox’s super group of F.off and the Young Guns. Like I said, this isn’t the first time, in fact, on of the times this happened my opponent was the World Champion in the middle of it. So I’ve been charged with the job of proving that the only reason he was champ was because there was no one there to take it from him.”
“I took a look back at the past Williams, and I seen what they were all talking about. You only gained that title with the help of that ‘revolution’ and then you lost it to Jack Hammond of all people who lost it to Ace. Not exactly what you would call a great run of champs. Hammond keeps appearing and disappearing and the Ace, well he's gone for good. I know people hate when I do this, but in my World Title run I beat Ace in record time and squashed all opportunities he would ever have at main eventing and then I come here and beat Hammond in my first match. So your World Title run is not only tarnished by the ‘revolution’ helping you out but with the fact that you gave up that title to Hammond. I don’t even know why they keep referring to you as a World Champ. Earlier this week I said I would destroy your legacy, but after finding all this out I don’t feel like I have to, your legacy destroys itself. All I have to do is get rid of you once and for all.”
“Mr. Jones we are now approaching our destination.”
“I guess that means that’s it for now. I’ve got more important things to ramble on about an opponent who doesn’t even have enough honor to win a championship cleanly.”
Venom buckles up and we fade.
