Act 1: How Doth the Little Crocodile...
The scene opens on a beautiful day at the Central Park Zoo. The sky was a bright blue, with the sun shinning brightly on the warm afternoon. Families came and went from the giant gates of the Zoo talking about the sights that had been seen or were about to be. We soon see Malice, Cleo, and Sothren walking toward the main gates, drawing a few looks as they pass. They get their tickets and head inside, as Malice looks around with a soft smile.
Cleo: Are you sure this is going to work Sothren?
Sothren: Of course it will. We'll head to the Reptile House, and let you wander through there for a while. By the time we come out, you'll be over your fear, won't she Malice?
Malice: Hmm? I'm sorry... I wasn't paying attention. I was taking in the sights.
Cleo: It's alright. Come along Malice, and we'll have a bit of fun today before we have to catch our flight to Omaha, and get ready for our matches.
Malice just nods, as they start along the main path heading toward the first animal enclosure. The penguins swam through the clear blue water of the tank they were in, causing the young children that watched to squeal in delight.
Malice: Such strange creatures... They are very cute creatures, but birds that are flightless just seem like such nonsense.
Cleo: Yes, the Gods have a sense of humor when it comes to creating such creatures.
They continue on along the path, passing vendors that were selling stuffed animals ice cream, and other things that one would find at a zoo. They reach the Tigers cage, and Malice just smiles watching the great creature pace back and forth. Cleo and Sothren don't notice that Malice is still standing at the Tiger's cage as they walk off heading toward the Reptile House. The area around the cages starts to spring up with lush green grass, and massive trees. The cages have disappeared and the animals roamed free among the wild lush wild scape of the jungle that had appeared. The tiger walks around her with long fangs and a smirk on it's face before running off. The Cheshire Cat soon appears alongside Malice and she smiles as she looks down.
Malice: Cheshire Puss... Where are we?
Cheshire Cat: We are in the jungle my dear. This is the place where the wild animals should roam free and not stuck behind the cement walls of the zoo.
Malice: I see. Well lets see who we can find that lives in this place.
They start down a long pathway that passes by a swamp. A crocodile sits at the waters edge, and Malice just smiles softly.
Malice:
"How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly he spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!"
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly he spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!"
Malice just looks down at Cheshire Cat, and sighs before looking back at where the crocodile had been, only to see that it had slithered into the water.
Malice: *Voice Over* Charlie I've heard your little speech, and I can't say that I'm surprised. I knew that you would spout off into a frenzy at all of us, and then you insulted me more so then the others have. I am more than what I seem. I am not some character ripped from a movie, nor am I some mental case as you put it. I am the daughter of one of the greatest men that have ever graced the NCW, and I will follow in his footsteps taking down anyone that stands in my way to get what I want. I've had enough of people like you. You should be ashamed of your actions, and know that no matter what it takes Sunday night I will be the one to put you down and shut that mouth of your for good. You will be the first to fall at my hands, and make no mistake... I will prove to you and the rest of the world why I am feared.
Her deep blue eyes seem to glisten in the sun above the jungle, as they continue down the long pathway. The sound of a bird singing could be heard somewhere in the trees around them, as they continued. A small colorful bird flutters in front of her and lands on a branch above the path.
Malice: Excuse me, but who lives here?
Taliorbird: There was once a human boy that lived within this jungle, but he is long since passed.
Malice: What happened to him?
Tailorbird: The great Shere Khan killed him when they fought. The boy didn't stand a chance against the great cat, but he tried to destroy him, only to perish himself.
Malice looks at the small bird, and then thinks back to the great tiger that had stood in front of her just a few moments before. The cat was beautiful, and had a deep gouge above one of it's eyes.
Malice: I see.
Tailorbird: But beware child, there are things here that are not what they seem.
Malice: I will take heed to your warning kind bird, but I must be on my way.
Malice smiles softly and continues on down the pathway, with the Cheshire Cat following behind.
Malice: *Voice Over* Tara you didn't even mention me in your last promo, and it makes me wonder why. Is it because you have nothing left to say to me, or is it that you know that you are already defeated? I hope that you will be ready to face me on Sunday, because I'll be ready to face you and take you out, making you wish that you were never put into this match against me. You see no matter what you do, you will not be able to stop me. I've been planning for this match all week long, and when we stand in that ring I'll look into your eyes, and know that you see me as a threat. I just wish I saw you as one.
The sound of loud screeching and screams could heard coming from the left of where Malice stood. She looked down another path, and started down it soon coming across a golden temple. A large group of monkey's danced like they were crazed as blood dripped down from the stairs from something that had been freshly sacrificed to some unknown God that dwelled within the temple. Malice walks closer to the temple, as a large black and white haired monkey jumps down from the top of the temple and screeches loud in her face. She smacks the creature and it backs down from her.
Malice: That was very rude of you.
King of Monkey's: Forgive me daughter of Eve. You startled us.
Malice: You are forgiven my dear creature. What a marvelous place that you have to live.
King of Monkey's: Thank you daughter of Eve. Would you like to stay a while, and dance with us?
Malice: I'm afraid I can not. I must be on my way.
King of Monkey's: Then be on your way daughter of Eve. Do not let us keep you.
Malice watches as the larger monkey walks away, and turns on her heel heading back down the path that she had come.
Malice: This is a very strange place indeed. Monkey's dance on a temple of gold, while a wild tiger wanders.
Cheshire Cat: It seems to me, that everything here lives as one.
Malice: *Voice Over* Ashlie once again you have proven that you are a spoiled brat, that cannot keep her mouth shut about anything. You want something that you cannot possess and Sunday night I will make sure that you never gain anything that you want ever again. This Sunday will be my night to shine, and to gain my first victory over you and the others. I don't fear you because you are and never have been a threat to anyone, and Sunday night I will prove that you are nothing more than a spoiled child, that cannot stand against someone like me. You throw insult after insult at me, and yet I do not care what you say. I know who I am and what I can do, but you don't and I know that terrifies you beyond all reason.
As she makes it back to the path she had been on, the ground begins to tremble slightly. Malice looks down at the Cheshire Cat, and wonders what was coming their way. A large brown Indian elephant soon appears coming down the path and stops when it reaches them.
Hathi: Now there is something you don't see everyday... What are you doing here my child?
Malice: I'm searching for someone. I think I lost them somewhere on the trail. Have you seen anyone else?
Hathi: No I haven't. You are the only one that I have come across.
Malice: Thank you kind creature, but I must be on my way.
Malice goes to walk on, as Hathi places his trunk in front of her and smiles softly.
Hathi: Let me take you to where you need to go my dear child. The snake Kaa will know the ones that you seek.
Hathi bends down as Malice climbs up onto the creatures back, and is soon lifted high above the ground, and making her way through the jungle once more.
Malice: *Voice Over* Maria you are still nothing to me. I have tried to take you seriously but I cannot. You think your husband is the greatest man that has ever lived, but you are so very wrong. The greatest man in the world is the one that I call my father. What have you ever done, that makes you stand out? You've lost almost every match that you've ever been in, and now Sunday night you have will stand in the same ring as me. Do you really think that you stand a chance against someone like me? None of you have even taken me seriously. But that will be your downfall. You underestimate me, and when you least expect it, I will strike you down.
Malice looks around the jungle as they come to a stop in front of a very large tree. As Malice looks up into the higher branches of the tree, she sees a large coiled snake with its head rising up, and starting to move down the tree. It reaches the ground, and looks up at Malice with black eyes. Hathi kneels down, and Malice slides off his back and walks toward the coiling creature, as Hathi walks off.
Cheshire Cat: Be careful with this one Malice. I don't know if we can trust him.
Kaa: You can trust me my dear feline. You have found me with the help of the great creature, and now I will help you. I have seen the two that you seek. Follow me.
Malice: Thank you serpent.
Malice follows the snake down another long pathway that jetted off from the main path, going deeper into the jungle around her.
Malice: *Voice Over* Megan you have yet to say anything to me once again. Maybe it's because you have enough respect for me to remain silent and show me what you can do in the ring instead. I have yet to prove myself to you and the others, but I will soon enough. Sunday night will be my night to take my first win, while I leave the rest of you destroyed in the middle of the ring.
Kaa soon leads Malice to what appears to be a glass window. On the other side she can Cleo and Sothren walking along through the Reptile house. She looks down at Kaa and puts her hand on the glass, and smiles to herself, only to find herself on the other side of the glass when she looks around. Cleo and Sothren look at her and wonder where she had been. She looks at the python that sat behind the glass and whispered "thank you" to the creature before turning back around to face Sothren and Cleo.
Cleo: There you are... Where have you been?
Malice: I've been right here. The Python... he... never mind...
Cleo and Sothren just look at each other, and start to walk back to the entrance of the reptile house, as Malice looks at the camera.
Malice: Remember girls... It's a jungle out there.
Sothren: Malice come along.
Malice: Coming uncle.
Malice looks back at the python once more and smiles softly before walking to where Cleo and Sothren were waiting for her. They all head out back into the late afternoon sun, as the scene fades to black.
