Mind you, this has some TNA references in it. so be forwarned.
Today, it just struck me how people are.... well let me get into it.
1st subject: Randy Orton
So, Randy Orton won the big one at No Mercy. It was bittersweet at best. After we were all robbed on Orton beating Cena in the ring, It took Orton two matches to beat HHH. I would have bought it if Orton actually looked like a guy who was going to win, but I really bought HHH at the champ, just because he bangs Steph on a nightly basis. Plus Vince really doesn't care about the fans anymore, But Orton came out looking really bad in my opinion.
2nd Subject: Kane
It's becoming pretty obvious to me that Kane isn't going to have any sort of World title push anytime soon, this was brought about by his LOSS to Finlay in the street fight, and the Undertaker's return, and simple motioning of him wanting the belt back. I watched the street fight on SD a few weeks ago, and I didn't see Kane from even 2003. Kane from '03 would have burned Finaly or crushed his lynax. But instead, He grabs the steps, gets a celtic cross and is pinned. I mean, Come on. I think Kane should go Neutral, just stop giving a damn. Hell, even a year ago, Kane tried to GOUGE OUT The Big Show's eyeball. That's the ruthlessness Kane needs, but since his big bro is back, I smell a heel turn, because Khali is the only true Main Event (shudder) heel they have on the show. Finaly is upper-mid card, but I wouldn't main event him on a weekly basis.
Subject 3: A.J. Styles
What happened to this guy? I mean before Cage, Angle and Sting, A.J. WAS TNA. Now he's Christian Cage's goofy sidekick. They have nothing for him to do, putting him back in the X division might help, but to me, it would seem like a step backward. A.J. is a main event caliber guy, why not have him go over against Sting, or Joe even. Let's make him a legit threat to Angle. And get him away from Cage. A.J. should be on his own.
Subject 4: Carlito
So close, yet so far away. Carlito earned many cool points with me when he beat Cena in the middle of ring on Raw. But it all went to waste, much like when Shelton Benjamin beat HHH two weeks straight. Carlito went from looking like the next contender to the WWE title, to losing a Triple Threat match for the IC title at Summerslam, then losing to HHH at Unforgiven. I doubt he'll be in any title hunt any time soon, since Orton seems to be hogging the no.1 contender spot dispite the fact that Carlito has done what Orton hasn't: pin John Cena.
Subject 5: Petey Williams
This is the biggest loser of the team Canada split. (aside from A1 but he didn't impress me anyway) Robert Roode made out pretty well. Eric Young is a cult hero. But the captain? Petey used to be the ****. He was an X division standout, a threat the X division title any time he was challenging for it. Now he's a glorified jobber. losing to Roode and putting over guys like Andy Douglas. Petey still has the coolest finisher in wrestling, but quite frankly, he never gets to use it. He's basically an updated Shark Boy, but even Shark Boy wins sometimes.
Subject 6: Christopher Daniels
Daniels return and subsequent challenge to Sting had him poised to makea run at the TNA world title. But not only did Sting win, but in only 6 mintues. Daniels best opportunity passed him by, and insted of Challenging Sting again, or even going at some other top-tierguy (Daniels/Cage=Money) Daniels fell back into the X-Division where Black Machismo is running wild. Daniels could be another top contender, but he needs to make his own opportunity, and not wait for Jarrett or Angle to give him one. Hell Challenge Rhino, he's not doing anything.
Subject 7: HBK
HBK came back last Monday, and it suprised a lot of people, but with John Cena now injured, Raw needs another main event guy, with all the Jericho talk, it was a good move to bring back HBK to the spotlight. Jericho reportedly has singed with WWE, and there are going to run that "Save_us.222" promo forever, just to keep us guessing on when Jericho is returning. HBK was a big swerve to keep us watching. But it is good to see him back, and he makes more interesting matches. (See: Carlito)
& Subject 8: Raven
Raven is by far the coolest gimmick excluding one Dead Guy. Raven has not gotten back into the ring, after a long lay-off trying to get seretonin off the ground. Kaz defected, but Matyr and Havok are still around. They do present a tag team threat, so I wouldn't count them out, as long as Raven is with them. But Raven has gotten back into the ring, and will be in Monster's Ball against Dustin Rhodes, Abyss, and Rhino. If Raven wants a sot on TNA's two hours everyweek, he needs to win this match. The problem is Raven's success may be the end of seretonin, but if he fails, Seretonin may flop anyway.
Those are just my thoughts.
Next time: Who I would put in the "New Four Horsemen" if I were running WWE, Plus, Why TNA DESPERATLY needs a Mid Card Title.
