“Look before you leap, for snakes among sweet flowers do creep” Proverbs
The scene opens on the dimly lit Reptile House in the New York Central Park Zoo. The habitats are filled with snakes and other creatures that not many people brave to see. Two familiar faces are soon seen making their way along the pathway inside, looking at each creature before moving onto the next. Cleo clings to Sothren's arm as they look at the snakes, feeling their cold black eyes watching her as she stood in front of the glass. She shivers slightly as Sothren looks down at her and smiles slightly, feeling Cleo's grip tighten just a little more.
Cleo: Thank the Gods that they are behind the glass.
Sothren: They are... Well at least all of them but that one.
Cleo looks down and sees a snake on the ground that had some how escaped from its habitat behind the glass. She screams and leaps into Sothren's arms as he laughs.
Sothren: Just kidding. It's not real. It's just a rubber snakes that I picked up earlier.
He sets Cleo down, and she smacks him for what he did. He just laughs as she picks the thing up, and tosses it at him.
Cleo: I hate you.
Sothren: No you don't. Now we need to focus on your match against Ayla. I think she's finally lost her mind over this whole leaving her thing.
Cleo: She made her choice Sothren, and I made mine. I ignored her calls for a reason... I didn't want her to suffer any more than she already had, and yet she blames me for her very rapid decent into hell. Besides I don't need her now. You've shown me what I was really missing within. It was the darkness that I needed once again. I had forgotten what it's like to revel in the screams of my opponents, when I put them through hell and back, when I break them and leave them to wonder where they went wrong when they faced me. Ayla is no different now. If she wants pain I will give her pain, and make her suffer even more than she already has.
Sothren: That's my girl. You and Malice are going to win your matches this week isn't that right Mal...
Sothren turns around and Malice isn't there. He looks at Cleo, and then down the hall behind them, not seeing the young woman anywhere.
Cleo: Where is she?
Sothren: I don't know. I thought she was right behind us.
Cleo: So did I. We better find her, before she wanders off to far. Where did you see her last?
Sothren: The Tigers.
Cleo: That's been over half an hour ago. I hope she didn't wander off to far. I mean you know how she gets.
Sothren: I know. She's one jellybean short of a jar, if you know what I mean... and that's saying something. She's creepy even by my standards.
Cleo nods slightly and sighs looking over at one of the cages where a large anaconda sits.
Cleo: We better find her then. Come on.
Sothren: Why don't we take the time we could be looking for her, and have a little bit of time to relax. She's a big girl, and she knows that we were heading in here. She'll find us.
Cleo: I know... Fine. If she does get lost, it's on your head, not mine.
They continue to walk along the pathway through the many cages on either side of them, and lets her thoughts wander.
Cleo: *Voice Over* Ayla you're still blaming me for what happened? Of course you have to find someone to blame for your current state don't you? I showed you love and it wasn't enough for you was it? I defended everything that we stood for, while you doubted us, and yourself. I continued on, and pushed forward without you at my side. I've grown stronger ever since that night that we fought, and Sunday night you will see first hand how truly strong I have become. I'm not going to stop until I hear you screaming from the pit of snakes, when you will breathe your last. I will make sure that you suffer every bit as I did when you left my side, and the pain and the suffering that you feel now, will be nothing compared to what I'm going to do to you on Sunday night.
Cleo walks over to one of the habitats and look at the creature within. It was that of an Indian Cobra, rearing up. She looks at the creature behind the glass and smiles softly, looking back at the camera.
Cleo: *Voice Over* The Cobra, one of the most deadliest creatures in this world, was once worshiped, and feared by all those around it. It was a sign of protection, but also the potential to be dangerous. You see the snake accompanied the deceased on their long journey to the underworld, to make sure they would arrive safely on the Western Banks of the Nile. However, a rearing female cobra was worn in the Pharaoh's crown guarded both the Pharaoh and the country that they ruled over. I both fear and respect the serpents that will be placed into the pit on Sunday night, and know that if I am bit, I will not got alone. You want to be with me, then you can die with me, and be trapped forever in the depths of hell.
Sothren taps her on the shoulder, and Cleo snaps from her thoughts and smiles softly.
Sothren: Are you alright?
Cleo: I'm fine. I was just thinking that's all. Any sign of Malice yet?
Sothren: Not yet. I'm sure she'll catch up with us.
Cleo: *Voice Over* Ayla I hope you're ready to face me on Sunday night, because I know that I'm ready to end everything between you and I. If that means that you must die then so be it. As you lie dying remember that I am a Goddess and I will always remain as such. I am the Golden Queen, the Queen of Kings, The Golden Goddess, the Queen of the Nile... So what does that make you? See you soon Ayla.
Cleo just smirks, as they round the corner and sees Malice standing with her hands against the the glass of the python habitat. Malice looks over at them and blushes softly knowing that she had wandered off not telling them.
Cleo: There you are. Are you ready to go?
Malice: Yes Cleo.
Cleo just smiles and sighs, as they head out into the late afternoon sun, with her head still filled with the thoughts of the match yet to come on Sunday night, as the scene fades to black.
