Furious.
That’s the only thing that can really describe how I’m feeling now; I’m furious that those two overgrown emo ****s Ex and Abel were able to break into my locker room and choke me out and almost harm Jaymie; I don’t know how nobody sees this and doesn’t help me.
So as I walk down this hallway, I make sure everybody knows how furious I am.
Luke: “Yeah, thanks a lot everybody! Nobody comes to help me out, right? See two large guys attack a guy and his girlfriend, and NOBODY shows up! Great work everybody, what you’re too busy watching that soap opera still unfold? Waiting to see if that Falcon guy is going to hit on another teenage girl!? Yeah, thanks a lot you lazy bums!”
Jaymie tries to shut me up by putting her hand over my mouth, but I still scream. I’m just too mad; nobody has even said a word to me since I stepped into this company, nobody wants to give a helping hand.
And if they do, they ignore me right after. Which is why I’m about to give my “manager” a call. Yeah, I’m going to lay into her good, tell her how I really feel; how she hasn’t said a word to me since we agreed to work together, how I’m a nobody. I almost break my phone dialing her number, and I swear, once this phone stops ringing I’m really going to lay it in her. Yeah, I’m thinking up some good disses to tell he right;
“Hi, this is Ashlie! Sorry I couldn’t pick up the phone right now, but just leave your name and your number and I’m sure I’ll call you back, bye!”
*beep*
Luke: “Yeah Ashlie? Yeah, this is me, Luke, you know YOUR CLIENT. It seems like you’re too busy messing around with that Joe Nobody to even call me or ask me how I’m doing, but that’s alright. You’re probably too busy doing stupid blonde stuff and acting DUMB. You know, ever since I let you become my manager I’ve done nothing but losing, so you know what? YOU’RE FIRED. That’s right, I’m firing you, you stupid tramp. What are you gonna do about it, send Joe Nobody to come fight me? I’ll give him a fat lip and remind him that he’s nobody again! You know what, don’t even waste your time because you’re not gonna hold me down anymore, so PEACE bitch and have a fun life!”
I just throw my phone to the floor, hoping it shatters to pieces…I was unsuccessful, but I still proved a point.
Who is Ashlie Ember anyway? Nobody, I know, so why did I even waste my time dealing with her? Because she had a pretty face, that’s it. I have a girlfriend, a girl I love, why should I have fallen for her tricks? Because I’m stupid, and she fooled me into thinking she gave a **** about me. She obviously didn’t.
I’m just so sick of people holding me down. From Ashlie to John, to even my own father, everybody is here to bring me down and make me look foolish, look stupid. None of these people ever gave a crap about me, they just wanted to ride on my coattails to the top. It’s just me and Jaymie, and that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
So if I have to break hearts, who cares? They’re just-
“Luke! Wait, Luke!”
I’m really not in the mood for this right now…I turn around and see it’s Mr. Jennings. He looks legit concerned, but it’s just all an act.
Mr. Jennings: “Luke, I saw what happened are you alright?”
He goes to place his hand on my shoulder, but I smack it away. Who is he to touch me?
Luke: “And you just watched? You didn’t come to help me out at all, you just watched for your sick entertainment?”
Mr. Jennings: “I ran once I saw it but I was too late. What’s wrong, Luke?”
Luke: “What’s wrong? You want to know what’s wrong? YOU. You and all of these people who have been holding me down, that’s what’s wrong. You like to pretend that you care about me, that you honestly give a **** about me, that’s what’s wrong.”
Mr. Jennings goes to touch my shoulder again, trying to calm me down but I’m not having it. I slap his arm away again and push him away.
Luke: “Don’t touch me! You’ve already taken enough from me, and for what? You don’t care about me, when I asked you to help train me I just expected to see you once a week and train, but what happened? I saw your old, washed up ass every day and I was wondering why…why would spend so much time with me. And you know what? I know why now, and that’s just so you can fix your old pathetic life. I don’t need you, but you sure as hell need me.”
I don’t see Mr. Jennings, the man who taught me how to lock in an armbar correctly, I see an old, pathetic man, who can’t let go of his past fame. His eyes don’t show me the man with the razor sharp confidence, no, it’s filled with tears of an old man who’s last days are coming. He is not the man who I looked up to as a father a few months ago…
Luke: “You’re nothing.”
I let the words resonate. Jennings doesn’t say a word, instead his old stupid beady eyes look down to the floor as tears drip down to the pavement. I grab a hold of Jaymie’s hand, and we walk away from this miserable sight, because to be honest, it makes me sick.
All of these people, the people who claimed to be my “trainers”, or my “managers”, or my “friends”…they make me sick to my stomach. They have all lied to me, or have used me to catapult their own careers. I don’t need them holding me down, I don’t need the sorry stench of loser on me…because I’m a winner.
That’s what Jaymie tells me every night. I’m a winner.
I don’t need to be surrounded by losers.
It’s raining this night, lighting seen in the background. On the balcony of a hotel room there is a figure; the shadow of a man staring down, rain drops hitting his body, soaking his skin. The lighting strikes, and we see it’s Destructor!...he doesn’t have that boyish charm anymore. His smile that we normally see is gone and it’s replaced with a more serious, determined look. The camera moves in closer so we can see Destructor! a little more clearly, who has turned his head to look at the camera.
“Ex and Abel…the two giants who have been hell bent on giving me hell. The two of you overgrown piece of ****s have been a thorn in my side for too long, calling and harassing my girlfriend. You laugh it off…you make it seem like you two are given this right to mess with me, but you are sadly mistaken my friends. You live your life in this dark lifestyle, hoping to hurt and inflict pain on anybody you see and you have chosen me as a target. You want my girlfriend Jaymie Boone…but you can never have her. I will not let her go, I will hold her tight in my arm and you know why?
Because she’s the only thing I have.
I will protect her with my life, because I love that woman more than I’ve loved anything in the world. Abel, you have this sick fascination with her, but I am here to get that kick out of you. I am here teach you a lesson, and that’s that you don’t try to take another man’s woman. You know why? The man will do anything to protect her, even if it means hurting you. I’m small, yes, I weigh about as much as your right leg does but you have fired me up, you have made me furious to the point that I will not feel the pain you’re ready to put me through. I am furious, but I am also determined and nobody will stop me on my path. Abel, you’re a silent killer, but nothing will be silent this Sunday. I will make you scream, I will make you say things that nobody ever thought you can say, and they won’t be nice things. It will be you, asking for mercy. Pleading for help. You pissed off the wrong man Abel, and you brought your friend along for the ride.”
Lighting strikes again, but Destructor! remains unfazed. The little boy we saw a few months ago has grown up to become a man, and that’s bad news for the rest of the nCw.
“The Executioner. That’s an ironic name since that’s exactly what’s going to happen to you this Sunday. You will be executed. You will find out that the kid you were choking on Collision is not the same person you will face in the ring this Sunday. You opened up something new in me, you created something that you can’t control. I’m still the ‘fool in the green’, but under this costume there is a new man. A man who doesn’t have the weight of people holding him down, no, this is somebody new. Somebody that you’ve never seen before, and I promise you two that this Sunday the whole world will see what I can do to you.
The whole world will see me make you two my bitches.
Because you pushed it to a new level, you made it something worth fighting for. You brought her into this, you brought Jaymie Boone into this and that set me off. It made a new me. A new, reckless me who is not afraid anymore. Yes, I once feared defeat, I once feared the thought of you two huge giants hurting me, but you know what? That’s gone now. Because fear will stop me from saving her, and I can’t let that happen. I will not let that happen. Ex and Abel, you two don’t know what you did. You opened up a whole pyramid’s worth of problems come this Sunday.”
Determination is in his eyes. The thought of failing has not entered his mind. He is at one, he is at peace with himself.
“Nobody thinks I can win. They think just because I’m small and you two are big, or that I’m fighting two of you that my chances of winning are slim to none. Nobody thought I could become a successful wrestler either. They thought I was just some stupid kid wearing a mask trying to live his father’s dream, but you know what? I proved them wrong too. I proved them all wrong, and I will continue to do that until I am too old and broken to do it anymore. They laugh when they see me, but the moan and groan and feel pain when I beat them in the ring. There’s a laundry list of people who overlooked me and have lost to me. You two will be no different. The world doesn’t think I can do it, but I’m here to shock the world, make believers out of haters. I’ve had a tough life, I’ve raised myself. I had nothing…and now that I finally have something I will never let it go. You will have to pry her away from my cold, dead hands to take her away from me.
Ex and Abel…do you hear it? Do you hear the clocks ticking to your destruction? Do you hear them ticking away…as your doom draws closer? I hear them, I hear them before I go to bed every night. Every one of my opponents I hear a different clock for them…just…ticking away. Prepare boys. Prepare to be…”
Lighting strikes again, this time that determined look has turned into anger, you can feel it come out of his voice, as he screams over the sounds of thunder.
“DESTRUCTED!”
Slowly fade of the imagine of a rain soaked Destructor!...eyes filled with fury.
I meant every word I said. I do love Jaymie, and she knows it.
So while we sit on this bed, staring at each other, our foreheads against one another…ever slow kiss on her soft lips I can’t take my eyes off of her. I tell her every second I can…
Luke: “I love you.”
She whispers it back, not wanting this moment to ever end. We’re holding hands, her energy going through me and keeping me charged. If she’s taken away from me I don’t know what will happen…
…and I don’t want to find out.
Luke: “I never want to let you go Jaymie; I love you more with every waking moment every day. I never knew what love was until I met you.”
I’m shaking. Not because I’m scared, it’s because I can’t believe that I’m in this moment right now. I never thought I would find a girl like Jaymie, and I never thought I would do anything to keep her safe from harm’s way. I didn’t think I would be strong enough to do it, but here I am.
Holding the woman I love in my hands, ready to fight for her love. I am not nobody’s lackey anymore, I am not a spot monkey who gets thrown around, and I’m definitely not a punk kid who needs to be managed by somebody who doesn’t care. I am a man now…
And the woman that I’m holding close, kissing on her lips? She’s my inspiration, my reason for being. Without her I am nothing, a nobody…just…hopeless.
It’s me and her against the world.
So bring it on, ****ers.
That’s the only thing that can really describe how I’m feeling now; I’m furious that those two overgrown emo ****s Ex and Abel were able to break into my locker room and choke me out and almost harm Jaymie; I don’t know how nobody sees this and doesn’t help me.
