Act 1: A World Beneath the Floor
“If to dance is to dream, then you make dreams come true”
“If to dance is to dream, then you make dreams come true”
The scene opens on a quiet night at Du Lac Manor. The stars were shinning brightly over head, while the full moon cast its light over the massive estate. The camera moves up to the upper floors, and into the room that we have come to know. The room that belonged to Malice was quiet, and neat with the dolls sitting in their place, with the tea party tables set for the next morning for another tea party. Malice was lying in bed, listening to the others that were downstairs, as they prepared to go out for the evening to handle some sort of business.
Malice: Our match is drawing closer, and I have to say I really wonder if you know what you have gotten your selves into this week. You are facing not only myself, but my mother, and Cleo. After the loss last week we have trained harder then we ever have before, and are ready to face you again. Ashlie you don't when to keep your mouth shut, and that will be your down fall in no matter who you face in the NCW, and Ayla you have been beaten by us three times now, and yet you still want to walk into this match against us on Sunday night. Emma I have never faced you, but I have been told you are someone that I can actually respect for the things that you have done. You are a true competitor unlike Ashlie and Ayla from what Cleo has told me. But don't get me wrong Emma, I will destroy you this week, no matter how much I respect you. You stand in the way of us getting to Zelda, and bringing her down for good.
Malice smiles to herself, as a small knock against the floor startles her. She gets up from the bed, as the sound of the knocking gets a little louder. Malice looks down at the floor, and pulls back the rug that was in the middle of the floor, as the knocking stopped.
Malice: Spirits from beneath the floor, open now your magic door.
Malice taps her foot three times, as she says the words, only to have the floor slide open revealing a long staircase that went down into the darkness. She grabs a candle from one of the shelves and lights it before heading down into the darkness, as the Cheshire Cat appears beside her, as she descends the steps.
Cheshire Cat: Greetings Malice. Where do these steps lead?
Malice: I'm not sure, but we shall find out. Come Cheshire Puss, the night is fading away quickly.
They start down the long staircase that lead down into the darkness. The only light that was seen was from the candle that Malice held in her hands as they moved along.
Malice: *Voice Over* No one seems to think that we are dangerous, and that we are a joke among those in the locker room. You have seen nothing yet, and our time is coming when the Women in the NCW will see that we truly are greater then they. I never try to get ahead of myself and say that we are going to win a match, for outcome is always uncertain. Sunday I know that there will be hell, pain and suffering, and I, along with my mother and Cleo will be the ones causing it. I'm not afraid of people like you, and will do everything and anything that I can to gain another win.
Malice continues her way down the long staircase, as the candle flickers a little bit from an unseen wind.
Cheshire Cat: I think we're nearing the bottom of the stairs Malice. Malice?
Malice shakes from her thoughts and looks down at the Cheshire Cat and smiles softly, as they reach the last few steps before the bottom. As they reach the bottom of the staircase the shimmering of something shinny could be seen reflecting the candlelight. Malice moves towards the forest. The forest around her shimmers in the candle light, revealing the beautiful silver trees that were in full bloom. Malice looks around her and picks one of the leaves from the tree and places it in her pocket before moving on.
Malice: Such a beautiful place.
Cheshire Cat: It is Malice. It reminds me of the White Queen's palace in Wonderland.
Malice just nods as they continue to walk through the silver forest.
Malice: *Voice Over* Silver... Such a beautiful metal, don’t you think? It’s used in developing pictures, jewelry, and other precious things that one can find around the house... But to me it means a little more. Emma you have seen other women come and go from this place, and you still shimmer like the silver that these trees are made of. You are older than most of them here, and you have given your knowledge to those that would listen to you. The management has passed you over time and time again, and yet you still remain like the timeless silver that is around me. You haven't given up, and will not break nor bend to those that try and stand in your way. Your record isn't spotless but you are not tarnished like so many others that have come through here. I am not saying that you are old Emma, but you are wise, and have experience unlike the other two pretenders that you are going to be teaming with this week.
Malice stares up at the trees of silver and smiles softly, spotting something moving among the branches. A pure white dove coos softly as they pass by, continuing along the path.
Malice: *Voice Over* Do not underestimate me Emma. I may be young, but I have some experience and I have been taught by the best after all. I'll give you a fight of a lifetime, and will not go down, without dragging you through the fires of hell with me. I am not afraid of you or anyone else that I have faced, and Sunday night when you stare across the ring at me, you will see a ruthless woman that is willing to do anything to make her father proud.
Malice and the Cheshire Cat continue on along the beautiful path only to enter a forest made completely out of gold. Malice looks around and smiles breaking off another twig and places it in her pocket, as they walk along.
Malice: *Voice Over* Gold, the most precious metal on earth, that drive men mad when they have it in their hands, and die in search of it. Ashlie you remind me of the beautiful shimmering gold, in many ways. You see gold will shimmer and shine for only a short time, and then it tarnishes and grows dull, just like you will. You will shine and sparkle in the lime light for a little while, but after a while they will forget about you, and you lose your luster and shine, only to be tossed away. Sunday night you will see why you shouldn't say such things about us. Not only will you lose the match this week Ashlie, but also you will lose your head by those you have insulted and underestimated this week. You have faced Cleo, my mother and myself already, and you have won twice out of those three times. You couldn't even face Cleo last week without cheating your way out of it. She still gained the win over you, and yet you whine because you lost? You made yourself lose.
Malice looks at the trees of gold and softly smiles feeling the cold metal in her pocket, as they continue along.
Malice: *Voice Over* Ashlie how long do you think you can stand against us on Sunday night? How long do you think your so-called partners will help you try to defeat us? From what I can see, and what I know about you, it won't be long. You are a coward that hides behind words, and others around you. Ashlie you are nothing more than a pretender that has entered the world where legends are made, and broken. You are the one that doesn't belong here Ashlie, not us. Sunday night you will realize that I am right, and that you need to move onto something that suits you better.
Malice and the Cheshire Cat soon come out of the golden forest and into one made of diamonds. The tall trees were made of shimmering diamonds, as well as the leaves that hung from it. The diamonds shimmered in the candle light from the candle that Malice still held in her hands. She breaks off another piece from the trees and places it in her pocket along with the silver and gold that she had already collected.
Malice: *Voice Over* Diamonds are forever they say. Diamonds are forged deep within the earth in the heat of a volcano as it forms, and then dies, leaving the beautiful gem to be found. The diamond in the rough so to speak. Ayla you are the diamond in the rough. When you first arrived in the NCW you sparkled and you glistened among the rest of the women in the division. Your light was bright, and never cloudy, with no impure thoughts but now... You've lost your luster, and have become clouded with rage, and bitterness toward the entire world, all because you gave up the best thing you ever had. I know that you still blame Cleo for what has been done, but it's not her fault. She gave you everything you could possibly want in life, and you turned away from it. Ayla you have sunk into the depths, and haven't turned back. Three times we have beaten you down, and yet it still seems like you haven't learned the lesson. Sunday night the lesson will be beaten into you again, and hopefully this time you will learn that we cannot be stopped by the likes of you.
As they walk through the diamond forest she sees a young man dressed in nobleman's clothes, at the edge of the forest where a large moat sits. Malice looks down at the Cheshire Cat, and then back at the young man.
Cheshire Cat: I wonder what he is doing down here?
Malice: I'm not sure, but it must have something to do with that.
Malice points across the dark moat, to a large white marble palace with golden peaks on the roof. The young man turns startled as Malice and the Cheshire Cat walk out from the diamond forest.
Young Man: Who are you?
Malice: I am Malice. What are you doing here?
Young Man: I am here to rescue the three Princesses that have fallen under the monsters evil spell. Will you help me? There is a boat for us to cross the moat, but I don't know what to expect when we get inside.
Malice: I will help you. Come... We must see what has happened.
The young man steadies the boat, as Malice enters, with the Cheshire Cat following behind. She sits looking towards the castle watching the lights in the windows cast shadows of the people inside.
Malice: *Voice Over* Ayla, Ashlie, Emma bring everything you have to the ring on Sunday night, and see if you can stand against us. We will not back down from this fight. We are tired of the way we are treated, and seen. People see us a joke, and not a threat, but they are wrong. Sunday night we will not only show you, but the rest of the world that we will do what we set out to do...Zelda will fall no matter what it takes, even if we have to destroy each and everyone of you to do it.
They reach the opposite shore and they get out of the boat, as the young man disappears before her. Malice looks around her and sees his footprints along the ground and follows behind the invisible young man. They enter the castle and there in the ballroom were the three Princesses dancing with three handsome Princes. The music lightly played in the room as they continued to dance as Malice watched on.
Cheshire Cat: Do you see what I see Malice?
Malice: I do Cheshire Puss. The young man is going to get himself into trouble if he tries to stop them.
Cheshire Cat: Indeed he will. Just stay back and watch Malice.
Malice finds a place behind one of the large pillars that are in the room. As the young nobleman distracts the Princes a strange thing happens. The young and handsome Princes start to change into hideous monsters. The Princesses look at the beasts lost in a deep trance not moving. Malice looks at each one of them noticing they look like Ayla, Ashlie, and Emma. She smiles knowing that the Princesses were enslaved to the monsters, and would be their slaves for all eternity. The young nobleman tries to fight the three creatures off, but fails. He is shredded to pieces and falls dead on the floor before Malice. The creatures look at Malice, and bow slightly before turning away going back to the Princesses that wait for them. Malice looks down at the Cheshire Cat, and nods slightly before heading back to the moat where the little boat waited.
Malice: Isn't it funny how things turn out in life Cheshire Puss?
Cheshire Cat: What do you mean Malice?
Malice: It's just at the end of all fairy tales the Princes always get the Princess... Even if that Prince is a monster.
Cheshire Cat: Very true Malice. Come along Malice. Time is slipping away.
They make it across the moat, and once they reach the shore, Malice notices the forest of diamonds had changed into something dark and strange. The trees were bent, and gnarled and filled with snakes and other creatures as she made her way back through the once beautiful forests.
Cheshire Cat: I'm afraid that I must leave you now. Farewell Malice.
Malice: Goodbye Cheshire Puss.
Malice starts to climb the staircase once again. It was a long climb back to her room, but she soon makes it back to the top and steps back into her room.
Malice: Close door.
Malice watches as the door closes back once again, and fades away. She pulls the heavy rug over it, and stands in front of the window looking out at the glittering stars above.
Malice: Sunday night will be one filled with chaos, pain, suffering, blood, sweat and tears. The Dead Girls shall not fail; we shall only succeed this time around. No one is going to stop us... and I mean no one.
With that, Malice moves back towards her warm bed and climbs in, and stares up at the ceiling, as sleep finally starts to drift over her, as the scene fades to black.
