{Back in the hotel, the champ is passed out asleep. Mike Honcho cant seem to rest though. He is troubled by thoughts of his long lost mustache. He had sworn to help his friend in the face of all opposition, both private and professional but without the lip sweater he had no moves in his arsenal.
Burns' phone vibrated with a text. Honcho looked at the screen and noticed it was Belle, the hot waitress lady form earlier. “Hey you. Listen, I’m going in to work the night shift for my friend Lisa. Stay by your phone, K? Tod has been telling me he is coming to see me so I may need your help again.”. Honcho gets a scowl on his face. He remembers the fight earlier and his small role in it, just barely. Give him a break he was eating a 6 pound steak.
He knew what he must do. He took out the trusted “Margin” navigational system that Falcon had given to him and took the keys to Philip's car. He had no idea how long it would take to get to a mythical place like North Dakota but he was on his way.
Meanwhile, back in the hotel, Philip is oblivious to his car being commandeered by Mike and sleeps away. His mind races with thoughts of finally getting his hands on Curtis Canyon. As if what happened at Picture Perfect wasn’t enough, he just had to be underhanded during their tag match on Collision as well.
Even though the championship committee gave him a new belt since DDK was refusing to give up the old one, he never felt that it was the same. Sure, it weighed the same amount and was made of the same materials. But its the little things that make it what it is. There was a small blood stain on the leather from Spike Kane, a scuff from where Angel's daughter played with it when her dad was finally home, or the smell of perfume form all the hot ladies Steve Awesome was undoubtedly around. Those are just a few examples of what makes that belt the nCw World Championship and not just A world title. Maybe it was silly to put so much stock in a legacy when he had already won it and could still be called the champion but he didn’t care.
When it comes time to face the devil known as DDK, Burns will have the advantage of passion. There is a great difference between a man who wants a championship so badly he would steal it and a man who wants it so badly he would sacrifice years of his life to build his career around winning it. Philip had evolved and come a long way since his time as a no-nonsense brawler in PWW. The craft and technique built into his work shows some similarities to Lance Ryan, Adam Knite, Angel, and Falcon. All these men are former World Champions and all of them had something to offer when he picked their brains.
He learned to manipulate people and work the system to get what he wants from Adam, He learned when was the best time to let his rage lose or not from Angel, and from Falcon he learned not to take himself too seriously. This traits helped form him into a complete package of a competitor worthy of the belt.
In the Car Honcho presses a button on the Margin navigational system. Although he is still in Texas it says North Dakota is just down the road on the right. He makes the turns and suddenly we lose sight of him.}
Belle: Get away from me Tod! I’m trying to do my job!
{Back at the local restaurant our friend Tod is terrorizing Belle again. He tries to hug on her and grope her. He just doesn’t understand what a breakup it I guess. The manager Gene tries to intervene.}
Gene: Now sir you have got to get out of here. This is a place of business. You cant be in here causing problems when we have customers.
{Tod turns to the very small, fat Gene and peers a hole through him.}
Tod: Why do you say these things when you know I will beat you for it?
{Tod suddenly picks up Gene and throws him through a giant window. On the other side Gene is caught by a shadowy figure. Al we see its a red and blue jumpsuit. Mike Honcho steps from the shadows clutching the manager and puts him down. We can clearly see Mike mustache, exactly where it should be.}
Belle: Its the magic man!
Mike Honcho: Excuse me General, care to step outside?
Tod: General?
Mike Honcho: Yeah, isn’t that the rank you attained in the douche bag army?
{This infuriates Tod who runs after him only to be beaten badly. Honcho hip tosses him onto the pavement outside and delivers an atomic leg drop. Tod is down for the count but Mike delivers a Magic Trick brain buster on Tod's own car for good measure. You call tell its his car because of the “Kneel before Tod” vanity plate.}
Gene: Thank you Mr. Honcho!
Mike Honcho: No need to thank me mister manager. Were all part of the same team!
{Mike gets in Burns' Impala and speeds off.
Later that morning Mike arrives back at the hotel and Burns is awake watching TV. Mike walks in the door and Phil sees the mustache.}
Philip Burns: Mike... is that?
Mike Honcho: Yes. Yes it is Phil. I realized than the fans of nCw need me more than you do. You are doing just fine without me. I have to be the magic man. For them. And for myself.
Philip Burns: I’m happy to hear that.
Mike Honcho: How does breakfast sound, champ?
{They arrive in the small diner where Mike had been beaten up the night before. Burns goes to the bathroom right after they walk in. Mike walks up to the bully Earl who had busted him up yesterday and taps him on the shoulder.}
Mike Honcho: you’re in my seat Holmes.
Earl: OH yea, tough guy? What you gonna do about it?
{Mike head butts the trucker right in the face and and then punches him in the stomach. He then sets him up on the bar and slides him all the way down until he flies off the end and lands on a pinball machine, shattering it. Mike pulls out 500 dollars and hands it to the man behind the counter.}
Mike Honcho: Sorry about the damage. No get me some Tab Cola and an omelet!
{Burns comes out of the mens room and steps over Earl. He looks up at Honcho in panic.}
Philip Burns: What happened? You kick their asses?
{They share a laugh and sit down to have their morning meal. Earl and Tod have both been conquered today. Only one more mouthy piece of crap left. Phil never takes his thoughts off his match with Curtis Kanyon. Its the triple cage, the most dangerous match he has ever been in. The potential for injury is tremendous. But Phil knows he will will without underhanded tactics, a crooked referee, or a friends help. That’s what it takes to be World Champion.}
