Plead, my children..
Plead with blinded eyes..
Plead with closed hearts..
Plead with tortured souls..
I hear your prayers..
I hear your cries..
And I am here to save you..
Save you from your monsters
Save you from your demons..
Save you..
From yourselves..
How many of you
Truly think you deserve salvation?
How many of you can say
You're sorry for what you've done?
Not just say it..
But mean it...
How many of you..
Think you can handle penance?
How many of you..
Think you can fight the Retribution?[/b]

{Karras stood on the balcony. Jason Blair was beside him, kneeling in prayer as part of his first steps in the path to god. Blairs mouth was moving, but no words were coming out. He seemed to finish, and his eyes blinked open.}
Jason: Finished, Father.
Karras: Excellent. What did you see..?
Jason: I saw... white.. and.. doves..
Karras: You have made more progress than I thought possible since arriving here. I see my trust in you was well placed.
Jason: Thank you, Father.
Karras: I think that is it for the day. Dinner should be ready soon.
Jason: Understood, Father.
{Blair stood up, and opened the balcony door. Coming face to face with Maria Williams. She was dressed in her normal clothes, like Blair was, not the robes she had been wearing.}
Maria Oh, Hi Jason.
Jason: Hello, Sister Maria.
{There was a slight grimace in her face, almost imperceptible. He stepped past her through the door, and she stepped out onto the balcony.}
Maria Father Karras...
Karras: Hello, Maria. Is there something you require?
Maria No.. I'm just.. wondering if I could leave for a while.. I'd like to head home.
{Karras turned to look at her, a pleasant smile on his face. Almost too pleasant.}
Karras: You are not a prisoner here, Maria. You are free to come and go as you wish. You will always have a place here.
{Maria looked torn. Almost paralyzed with indecision. A moment of silence passed, and Karras placed his hands on her shoulders.}
Karras: God does not forget his children when they leave the nest. Please come see us again, when you lose your way.
{Maria's eyes welled up a little, then she was against him, burying her head in his chest, sobbing quietly.}
Maria I miss my husband..
Karras: Then go see him, Sister.
Maria I.. I don't know if he wants to see me...
Karras: Then he is a fool...
{Maria clung to Karras tighter, and wept silently.}

I have.. trouble understanding you Micheal. On one hand, you seem genuinely concerned with the goings on of your father. And yet, on the other, you blindly walk away from it all you wander around aimlessly, acting like a court jester begging for a gold coin on a street corner. I suppose there's some name for this, some disease medicine would tack onto you just so they can place another pill down your throat. But that's really none of my concern. My concern is making you see..
Exactly how wrong you are.
You cannot appeal to a beast, for they hold no reason. You cannot ask for sympathy from a monster, for they know not the word. You cannot demand mercy or quarter from someone who would like nothing more than to end you, because it will never come. This is why you have not found peace, either will your family or yourself. Chris Diamond is no more. Not right now. He has lost himself in the darkness inside all men, and appealing to that part of him is a wasted effort. But do not worry..
I will save him.
For you. For himself, for the good of mankind. The kid games you have been playing are finished. Time to grow up and be a man Micheal. But do not fear.. I hear there is an opening in the circus for someone of your comedic talents. Maybe you should give them a call. And leave the real work to the professionals.[/b]
