OPENING
Here I am fans, back again for another edition of my exciting, my world famous, Knitelife column. I hope you enjoy the show and remember to accept no imitators and always come back to where it began NCW’s original column, NCW’s best column.
It’s been an amazing few weeks of wrestling and this Road to the Gold tournament all comes down to this... the final match, who will get the shot at DDK’s World title? Who will be crowned the new Road to the Gold champion? It’s very exciting I know, i can barely contain myself here. I really hope you fans enjoyed the action this month and I’m really sorry that other aspects of our shows have been kind of bland during this, it always is this time of year and we sincerely apologize for it but we also hope that the tournament really made up for it. We think it has.
Anyway, to the polls right? Anyway, this past week I gave you the twist in the polls and let you decide on what pay per views you’d like to see retired and replaced with something fresh and new, plus giving you the option of saving Mind Games... which you failed to do. Anyway in a lindslide you picked both Transgression and Metamorphosis, which I’m really glad you picked Transgression, I never liked that name. It seems like Meta slightly edged out Tranny, but we’ll see which one gets changed, or maybe both. Anyway... good bye Mind Games... we hardly knew you.
This week’s poll we’ll do something that we did not so long ago. We asked what youngster in NCW did you think was going to be the first to win a championship. I believe the majority vote winner was Destructor and Freakke was the one who actually accomplished it. Anyway, we’re asking it again. Who do you think will be the first of these men/women to win a title in NCW? Should be an interesting response.
WEEK IN REVIEW
We had a very solid week of wrestling folks. I really hope you managed to tune in and catch the action. From Trauma to the webshow, to Collision everything we very good. Trauma had some great action with the women’s world champion on the card, with the Road to the Gold match between Ricky Johnson and Charlie Velez, and even seeing our National champion Freakke in action teaming with Jason Blair (his RTTG4 opponent) against the Rat Pack team. Trauma was just clicking for me, I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was but overall it just had a great vibe this week and I’m really looking forward to seeing it go further and continue to grow into a show that could possibly be on par with Collision.
Now, speaking of the big show... I was kind of disappointed in it. I mean, the action was there and the great NCW wrestlers were on display but something just wasn’t jiving. The show felt like it could of done better on the production side, a few slip ups here and there. Overall it was that solid NCW wrestler you’ve come to know and love. We had great matches like Knitington winning yet again, against Joe Everyman (who was doing a lot of trash talking about how he got the pin in his last tag team match) who got thumped. We had DDK gaining yet another win over an NCW wrestler booted from the Road to the Gold tournament, continuing to prove just why he holds that belt and finally of course Dave Holland wins again, this time against my pick of the liter, Evan Andrews. I was a bit disappointed in my boy, but hey, he made it to the semi-finals and turned a lot of heads.
Anyway, it was some good shows. There was some great action, and I can’t really say too much bad about anything right now. I just hope we keep this up and have another great week this week.
THE FAB FIVE
5:: DDK :: He again looked to challenge the Road to the Gold competitors and again gained another victory over them. This time against Alex Jones. He’s proving with every win just why he’s at the top of the NCW ladder. Also... ha ha... you’re still not number one jerkass.
4:: Adam Knite :: Will Washington may have gotten the pinfall, but everybody knows who won that match for the team. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Adam wrestle like that, he was wrestling with pure confidence and a bit of arrogance. I like it... it might be trouble for NCW thought if Adam keeps it up.
3:: Rayne :: Won that women’s Battle Royal on Collision and really made her bid to be the next challenger to the Women’s championship. It takes a bit of luck to win a battle royal or similar match sometimes, but she didn’t rely on that, she went out there and took that match.
2:: Dave Holland :: He beat a great young (to NCW) wrestler and my personal pick to win this tournament. He wrestled a great match and is only one competitor away from another shot at that NCW World title.
1:: Charlie Velez :: He defeated the most decorated wrestler in NCW history by defeating Ricky Johnson and continues his ripping through the NCW roster with win after win. He just might be our next NCW champion, but he has a hard fight in front of him in Dave Holland.
PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK
Frist let me get this out of my system... ROAD TO THE GOLD FINALS!! THEY’RE FINALLY HERE! It’s all come down to Dave Holland and Charlie Velez. They’ve both beaten three of NCW’s best wrestlers. It’s going to be an amazing event and if it is like last year’s final match, it’s going to be one to remember.
Other than that, we still have some great match ups, almost like a pay per view card on Collision. I don’t even have to tell you how interesting this Andrew Jacobsen and Falcon match is going to be. I know they are on friendly terms, I know Falcon says he doesn’t mind Zelda and Jacobsen being friends, but you know deep down he resents it, deep down he has those feelings of doubt, and Jacobsen has openly admitted how much he envies Falcon, how much he wishes Zelda were his.... oh man.. what a match. It may not even be the most interesting match on the show either, not with a first blood match between DDK and Evan Andrews in the second chance challenge, not with Steve Awesome teaming with Ayla St. James to take on Burningman (Ember and Everyman). Collision is going to be one to remember for a long time to come folks.
This... this doesn’t even mention Trauma either... Father and son, Maniac and Mike Honcho teaming to take on the Rat Pack, possibly the next big tag team name in NCW. Maniac and Johnny Holliday had a fiercly close constast the last time they were in the ring together and this match should be just as exciting. We have the Young Guns team... Venom (love your take on my column by the way Venom... don’t know why You’d think I’d be upset over it.) and Zelda Knite to taking on Alex Jones and AnnaBella La Rogue. Then there is even Christina Vyper takin gon Rayne to open the weekly action up. Wow.. that’s all I can say.
Amazing shows this week, I really hope you tune in and catch them, there is going to be some great action.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Dave Holland vs. Charlie Velez :: Why am I including such an obvious match? Because look at it like this. These two men had easily the two hardest schedules when it came to their Road to the Gold opponants. Velez had TWO former World champions and followed that up by facing the man who had the most title wins of any man ever in NCW. Holland had Maniac... one of the toughest crazyasses to ever to step into a wrestling ring and then went up against the current National champion. Just look at what Velez has had to go through to get to here.... that’s amazing people.
:: Andrew Jacobsen vs. Falcon :: Ok, I described this above, but this needs some repeating. These two men are friends and allies. These two men have stood up and defended NCW against the threat of Steve Awesome and the front office and they often claim how much respect each other, but for months now there has been one thing that seems to be causing this underlying sense of tension between them, there has been one thing that everybody asks them about... that blue eyed princess. I think the punches are going to be a bit rougher this week, I think the holds are going to be a bit tighter and I think there is going to be a lot of unspoken frustrations coming out.
:: Trish Newborn :: There is looking to be a bright future in store for this young competitor. She may have lost that battle royal last week but she along with the likes of Christina Vyper have really shown a lot in this women’s division in a very short amount of time. Keep an eye and see what she can do, you might be surprised.
:: Lex Sense :: He got a big win in his debut match, now can he keep building on it? He’ll have a tough time since he has equally impressive youngest Hugo Conway to contend with. This could be a surprisingly really good match, could steal the show on Trauma.
PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK’S RECORD:: 6-5 :: I can do better, but I guess it wasn’t terrible.
OVERALL RECORD:: 226-133 :: It’s still as awesome as always. Now I’m 7 away from being 100 up in the win column.
TRAUMA
Singles Match
Christina Vyper vs. Rayne
:: I'm going with Rayne solely because she's been doing it longer. She's got the edge I think.
Singles Match
Maniac and Mike Honcho vs. Ander Carvetti and Johnny Holliday
:: I don't see how Maniac and Honcho can work together. They are father and son, but they are not on the nicest of terms.
Singles Match
Lex Sense vs. Hugo Conway
:: A very tough one, I think Hugo is getting ready to turn the corner here, but I think Lex gives him a run for his money.
Triple Threat Match
Freakke vs. Nero vs. Chuck Moss
:: You have to go with the National champion in a match like this.
MAIN EVENT
Mixed Tag Team Match
Zelda Knite and Venom vs. AnnaBella La Rouge and Alex Jones
:: I can never vote against Zelda, every time I have she's won.
COLLISION
Three Way Match
Trish Newborn vs. Emma Danielson vs. Kris Titan
w/ Zelda Knite on commentary
:: I think Newborn finds a way to upset Emma here, she's looked really good so far in NCW.
Singles Match
Joe Ragnal vs. Jason Blair
:: This is a very tough one to decide, but I'm going to side with Blair just because he's been so good lately.
UPSET OF THE WEEK
Singles Match
Falcon vs. Andrew Jacobsen
:: I don't know.. I just think Jacobsen wants this really bad. He wants to show something to Zelda, he wants to prove something here.
LOCK OF THE WEEK
Mixed Tag Team Match
Steve Awesome and Ayla St. James vs. Joe Everyman and Ashlie Ember
:: Like Joe Everyman can beat Ayla? Let alone Steve. Easy win.
Grudge Match
Angel vs. Doc
:: Doc has been on a bit of a losing streak and I don't see him recovering against Angel.
First Blood Match
DDK vs. Evan Andrews
:: I'm going with my boy Evan Andrews again, he'll redeem himself here.
MAIN EVENT
ROAD TO THE GOLD FINALS
Dave Holland vs. Charlie Velez
:: I hate voting against Velez here but he's just gone through so many tough opponents week after week. Just how long can his magic last?
THE KNITELINE
Randy Dersh; Istanbul, Constantinople
I heard rumors that the current X Champion's had his eye on you, which annoys me because of who he is. Ever taken thought of dating someone like that?
:: If I weren't married? Might, he's cute and he's funny. It's a good thing he ditched that blue hair though... that was lame.
John Smith; London, England.
Whats the difference between The Kniteline & The Gun Show?
:: Well beside the obvious his is a show and this is a column, mine is a lot better. Sorry. It's true. But I love V's show.
Raymond Scott, Long Island, NY
Wasn't Destructor! supposed to be making a comeback soon? Has he forgotten about us Destructionites already!?
:: I sure hope he hasn't forgotten about him, we need more destructor around here.
Dave T. Zombie. K-Town PA
Why hasn't nCw confined Mike Machado to a rehab center? The guy is like three Hot Pockets away from going postal on that poor innocent microwave.
:: We keep DDK around and he's addicted to crystal meth I think, so what difference does it make?
Venom - Atlanta, GA
Dear Kelly,
I am a long time reader and this is my first time writing in. I was just curious, has your own Sister-in-law ever called or wrote in with a question for your show? I know she covered for you one week and caused some controversy, but has she ever written into your show like she did for the Gun Show? Just curious
Yours Always,
Venom
:: You do realize by you writing in, you've just... wrote into my show right? If it was a big deal that Zelda wrote into your show and she's just my sister-in-law, how big is it that I've actually had you write into mine? Think about it.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: I can’t believe Evan Andrews has to face DDK in a First Blood match just because how the spin on a wheel went. That’s crazy.
:: How many people are going to copy my show format now? They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess.
:: I said I was going to get back in the ring a couple of weeks back, but some jerk blocked me from doing so. I’ll get back soon, and you’ll see some more exciting Kelly Knite action.
:: How interesting is it going to see Mike Honcho and Maniac teaming together? The only father and son wrestling tandem in NCW, it should be something to see.
:: I hear there is already a new name picked out for the former Mind Games pay per view. I’ll have more info for you next week on my special Road to the Gold edition of Knitelife.
:: Joe Everyman got beat down by Knitington. It was fun to watch, almost as fun as that new drama on NCWtelevision about those two weirdos trying to be private detectives.
Well that’s all I’ve got for this week, I hope you enjoyed it and until next time....
Kelly Knite.
