OPENING
Wow.
The End.
Ok ok... I can’t leave it at that, i know... I know. I’m here againg to give you the low down on all the exciting NCW action that took place this past week, and man... was there a lot of it. Not only did we see the longest title reign in NCW history come to an end, we saw Zelda Knite after the match throw down the gauntlet and demand to be given a World title shot on the basis of being the first person to reach 75 points in the power rankings. To answer your first question, I’m sure you all have right now... No, I have no idea if she is going to get that shot or not. So please do not ask me, but I do hear that my father and the competition committee are discussing the issue.
Now lets move on shall we. Last week in the Knitelife to honor the pay per view Road to the Gold IV, we had our little poll of what match you thought was the best of the night and you NCW-ites certainly came through on that one. DDK versus Dave Holland pulled out the poll victory and there is no arguing it... it was the best match of the night.
This week we're going back to the PPV name change poll, and we're going to see what you think of "Breaking Away" in these early stages. Do you like it more than Mind Games? Would you have rather we kept Mind Games now that you know the new name? Maybe you just don't care. Either way, just let us know.
WEEKLY REVIEW
Wow.
The End.
.... So I can’t pull that joke twice huh? Ok, I guess I’ll just get right into it. The shows this week were fantastic. We had a ton of action of both Trauma and Collision that really sets the pace high this week to match them.
Trauma was a bit disappointing, there were some good matches between some good wrestlers but overall the show felt a bit flat. Like it needed some extra spice, like it needed some Kelly Knite thrown into the mix, I don’t know something. Maybe it was the fact that potato boy Joe Everyman was headlining the show? That very well could be it, we saw what happened to Suspense after Joe Everyman started main eventing that show... please don’t ruin Trauma for us as well JOE! Please!
Collision on the other hand.... was like a non stop roller coaster ride of awesome. The ups and the downs, the twists and the turns... just amazing. It looks like Blood Ties are starting to develop a bit of an attitude, and can we blame them? They look unstoppable as a team. We had Steve Awesome take on Charlie Velez in a classic match, Dave Holland and Adam Knite going one on one in a very close match and like I mentioned earlier we finally saw the Women’s World title go to a new owner. Congratulations to Emma Danielson by the way.
Overall, there is nothing bad you can say about Collision this past week, not a thing I tell you. Oh.. that whole thing with Zelda declaring herself the #1 contender. I don’t know... she makes a valid point, and there hasn’t been any wrestlers who have been a little bit close to her in terms of winning matches of late.... but this is Dave Holland we’re talking about here. This is the Hall of Famer... yeah I know she wrestled the original Hall of Famer to a draw... but that was a one time deal, her putting everything out there and the best she could do was stale mate him. It seems like a pipe dream for Zelda at best.
Regardless of what shenanigans went on, Collision was just superb. There wasn’t a single bad match on the card, there was a ton of action, and a ton of controversy, such as the Adam Knite and Jack manson fiasco that is still unfolding, so I have to give Collision a big rating here.. I’ve gotta whip out the “A+”.
THE FAB FIVE
A lot of wrestlers are deserving to make this list this week. I saw plenty of people stepping up their game and really putting on a show for the fans. This week I’m going to be going a bit unorthodox with this list, and really look deep into our top performers.
5:: Jason Blair:: He was given the task of, after winning the National title the week before, or taking on Ander Jacobsen.. NCW’s “Golden Child” as I like to call him. It wasn’t an easy thing to do, but he came in and overcame and followed up his impressive victory over Freakke with one over the young Jacobsen.
4:: Ander Carvetti:: He showed up to win on Trauma, it looked like nothing was going to stand between him and winning that match against Joe Everyman, even taking the most deadly, the craziest, most mind boggling move ever.. “The Knee Stinger” and kept wrestling. I don’t know how he could stand on those knees after Joe Everyman recklessly drove his body into them like that.
3:: DDK:: Coming off a title loss like that can be very hard sometimes, and sometimes it takes a few matches to overcome it, but DDK didn’t miss a beat. He got right back on that proverbial horse and defeated the incredibly talented Johnny Holliday for the win.
2:: Emma Danielson:: What’s that? I put the woman who ended the longest title streak in NCW history as number 2? Well for one thing.. she didn’t beat Zelda... she beat Roxxxie, the week after losing to my little sis, and for another... there is only one person who deserves this number one spot....
1:: Zelda Knite:: That’s right, this week we’re going with Zelda... in honor of that nine month title reign of hers that officially ended at an amazing 274 days. The first women’s world champion set a standard that is going to be near impossible for the women who come after her to match. During that span she defended that belt 10 times against 17 challengers. She is what every woman wrestler in NCW is going to try and be from here on out, a great start off to our Women’s division.
PREVIEW OF THE WEEK
First off I just want to say... I told you I was going to push for a match here soon. Sorry it didn’t come sooner as I had promised, but sometimes you just can’t help these things, and in an interesting twist, I believe this is the first time me and Adam have ever officially tag teamed for a match. Sweet.
Now onto the wrestlers who really matter... only one word can describe this card.. “SWEET”. Oh is it looking nice and to think probably one of the biggest matches, is going to be contested on our Web Show cast with Steve Awesome taking on Maniac. That right there should tell you good the rest of these cards is going to look, so you don’t need me telling you about them do you?
Ok, you twisted my arm. We’ve got the, mentioned above, match with me and Adam teaming against Jack Manson and Emma Danielson, I’d give them a nickname as I do pretty much every random teaming that comes through here, but with a last name like “MANson” and teaming with Emma... the jokes are too easy and I’m a bit classier than that. However, that match is only the tip of the iceberg here... we’ve got the entire Young Guns in action agaisnt Total Eclipse and Dave Holland, yes that’s right.. there is no female on the opposite group... I’m a bit worried for Zelda here... she could hurt more than her shoulder here. Either way though, the match should be spectacular with Charlie Velez and Dave Holland in the same ring again, three weeks after their huge Road to the Gold finals match.
There is some great action this week, and I’ve only hit on a few of the matches, we’ve got a flat out fantastic match with Falcon versus Alex Jones and DDK taking on Joe Ragnal. I mean there is just so much going on I cant’ even begin to go over it all. Make sure you tune in this week fans, because, I’m going to tell you right now, you’ll be missing out if you miss just a minute of this weeks shows.
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
Homeless Harold vs. Tempestad :: It’s a battle of the Xtreme masked wrestlers. What more do I have to point out here? It’s going to be very intersting because this “Harold” has torn through every single person who has stood in his way, the only question here is if the masked Tempestad can slow him down.
Kelly Knite :: Shameless self promotion... gotta love it. Anyway.. the original NCW female wrestlers, the first lady of NCW in wrestling action on Collision, and the only person to beat Zelda Knite.. Yeah you know you want to tune in to watch me, don’t be a hater.
Zak Warner :: Normally I don’t do t his for a wrestler making his debut, but apparently from what I’m hearing backstage, this is a pretty good one. So I’ll say keep on eye on him just to see what he can bring to NCW, should be interesting on that point.
Jason Blair vs. Chuck Moss :: The National title will be on the line in this match made by Sheriff Gib because of Jason Blair’s insubordination's and refusing to give Freakke a rematch. To make things really intersting, Freakke will be the referee for this match! Jason Blair maybe have made a big mistake with this one.
PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK’S RECORD:: 10-5 :: Got a few of the harder matches to judge wrong right there in a row, picking against Steve and Holland pulling one out against Adam were tough loses but overall it’s still a good record.
OVERALL RECORD:: 254 - 143 :: Still a great record if I say so myself.
TRAUMA
Xtreme Match
Homeless Harold vs. Tempestad
:: I have to go with the Hobo Hero here. Tempestad is a former 2 time Xtreme champion, but Harold is a monster.
Singles Match
Davey Ortega vs. Xavier Williams
:: Who wants this match more is the question. I hate to vote against “The Dude” but I have to, I have to go with Xavier Williams for the victory.
Singles Match
Gabriel Karras vs. Hugo Conway
:: Tough one to call because Karras has so much more experience and has title runs in his pocket. I really want to go with Hugo... so I’ll bite the bullet and say him.
MAIN EVENT
Singles Match
Trish Newborn vs. Roxxxie
:: Very tough one, both are looking good in their short time in the NCW’s ladies division. I’ll go with Newborn.
WEB SHOW- COLLISION
Zak Warner vs. Hexx
:: I never pick Hexx and I’m not about to start now.
Jason Evans vs. Hell's Keeper
:: Another one of those tough ones to call, I’m going with Jason Evans though because I’ve seen him more than I’ve seen this “Hell’s Keeper” person.
Steve Awesome vs Maniac
:: I’m not about to try and pick this. Ok Ok.. I don’t know, I’ll go with Steve Awesome by the flip of a coin.
COLLISION
Singles Match
Joe Everyman vs. Ricky Johnson
:: I never want to willing go with Joe Everyman, and on another note I find it feels like being stabbed in the eye with a hot fire poker to vote against Ricky Johnson, however, I have to go with in instinct here... Joe Wins.
Honor Match
Daniel S. Hunter vs. Lex Sense
:: This is hard because Sense is the number one contender to the Honor title, but Daniel S. Hunter has such a rich history in amateur wrestling. It’ll be tough for Sense but I’m going with him here.
UPSET OF THE WEEK
Singles Match
Joe Ragnal vs. DDK
:: Joe Ragnal is going to have to work his butt off here if he wants to beat the former World champion, but I think he does. He seems way more focused than usual, this guy is looking to make his mark here.
Mixed Tag Team Match
Emma Danielson & Jack Manson vs. Kelly Knite & Adam Knite
:: Like I’m voting against myself? I should probably not vote to try and stay unbiased I guess.
National Championshp Match
Special Referee: Freakke
Jason Blair vs. Chuck Moss
:: It all depends on Freakke, will he try and screw Blair? Will he try and keep the title on Blair so he can get a rematch? Will he try and give it to Moss so he can get a title shot... or will he just call it down the middle? I don’t know, so I’m going with the champion.
Singles Match
Alex Jones vs. Falcon
:: This is right up there in rivaling the Maniac vs. Steve match as the hardest matches to pick. Alex Jones is an amazing talent and he’ll be the world champion eventually in this company, and Falcon is the established hall of famer... going with Falcon... just barely.
MAIN EVENT
6 Person Tag Team Match
Venom, Zelda Knite and Charlie Velez vs. Total Eclipse and Dave Holland
:: ... and just like that another match that rivals the other two for hardest to judge. I make it a habit to not vote against Zelda, but this is pushing me to the very edge, espcially since Brad and Evan are in the match. I’ll go with the Young Guns, because they have experience as a team.
THE KNITELINE
James Bond, London
Who do you think will finally defeat Zelda for the world title?
:: You’re a little late there 007.
Charlie Smiles "Freakke", Strapped to my Bed in Ravenwood, PA
Do you think it'd be cool to bring a T-Shirt cannon to work when I'm declared 'fit'?
:: Sounds awesome to me Free-Ak. T-shirt cannons are always cool.
Chris Anderson; Dallas, Texas
What do you think Holland's chances are surviving Zelda Knite?
:: I honestly think they’d be pretty good... Zelda is like 100 pounds of nothing and Holland is a big time verteran in this business. Sure Zelda managed to wrestle Lance Ryan to a draw.. but there wasn’t a world title on the line in that match, and Zelda gave that one match everything she had. Holland would be too much. It’s Nature.
Joe Ragnal; San Diego, CA
I'd like to just state for the record, that I have made sure the guy from Istanbul didn't make anymore rumors up about me, and that I already have a girlfriend. I do not have any crushes on Kelly Knite, or anyone else on the nCw roster.
With that said, I'm glad the announce team enjoyed my costume on Halloween. Now, the question; what was your favorite part of the 300th episode, Zelda's announcement aside?
:: Ahhh.. I liked to think you had a crush on me, it was cute. Anyway, I think the biggest new from that 300th show had to be Gib forcing Blair into defending his title.
Dave T. Zombie, K-Town PA
I thought Women's and Tag Power Rankings were listed separately. Doesn't Zelda reaching 75 mean she just gets a shot at the Women's World Title, which she gave up to take this title shot?
:: Well Zelda didn’t really give up her title... she just didn’t do anything to stop the pin, even though it looked like she had plenty of time to, and well if anybody knew the answer to that question, then we wouldn’t be in this position right now.
Not Jayson Matthews
"Hey....you should say something about Awesome Love! It's a great show!.....this totally isn't Jayson Matthews. Ka-Plow bitch---I mean...*sigh* dang it!"
:: Awesome Love is the most useless thing ever. Like I said last week, do we really need another timeslot for Steve Awesome to declare how much he loves himself.
Jose, Texas
Now that Zelda lost the Woman's Championship and Venom failed to win the X Championship the Young Guns do not have gold in there grasp for the first time since they came together publicly. Do you think the other wrestlers here in NCW have just figured them out now or is it just a case of you can't win them all?
:: You can’t win them all in all honesty. They’ve been nothing short of dominate at times here in NCW and I don’t see anybody figuring them out, it’s just sometimes you lose. Happens to everybody.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: I can’t believe what I’m seeing in this world title picture... we have two Youn Guns demanding shots, claiming that they are deserving. I have no idea if Zelda is going to get a shot, or what Velez has in store to try and gain his like he promised my father. It’s going to be crazy.
:: I love getting matches, I love wrestling... I wish I did it more. Who knows mayber I’ll throw my name into the women’s division “proverbial” hat and actually try to win that belt... or maybe not... we’ll see.
:: DDK continues to prove his absolute craziness in his “Bang!ing” of Jack Manson as he confronted Adam Knite about his actions at Road to the Gold, then running off. I don’t know what DDK was thinking, but dude needs to back out of people’s business... or maybe... no.. no way.
:: Did you see Holliday’s fall? I was scared for him it looked horrible and it seems like he’ll be out for a while, then again that’s no surprise not after that fall.
:: In case you haven’t heard the news.. Spike Kane, just like that has been released from NCW. There are several rumors going around, ranging from failing a drug test to getting into a confrontation with management backstage. I’d like to stress those are rumors, the official reason given to me by my father was a simple disagreement over contract terms.
:: Former NCW star Jimmy Zane, an X-Division and Tag Team champion, has recently announced his planned retirement from wrestling. There are no other details, but he certainly was one of the more colorful characters to ever grace NCW.
:: It has been announced on the corporate site that this week NCW has signed wrestlers Jim Reigns and Stephanie Sullivan... I don’t know much about Reigns, but Sullivan is a very accomplished womens wrestler in several companies, her addition to the roster should be a huge boost to the women’s numbers.
:: Thank you everybody who made the 300th show, not only possible, but a huge success. It was a fantastic show and couldn’t of happened with your support.
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for you this week. I really hope you enjoyed the read and I hope you come back next week. Until next time...
