The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE is set to release a "Top 50 Superstars of All-Time" DVD and the following list of names has been revealed for the disc:
1. Shawn Michaels 2. The Undertaker 3. Steve Austin 4. Bret Hart 5. The Rock 6. Harley Race 7. Ricky Steamboat 8. Andre the Giant 9. Rey Mysterio. 10. Roddy Piper 11. Eddie Guerrero 12. Triple H 13. Gorgeous George 14. Randy Savage 15. Curt Hennig 16. John Cena 17. Ric Flair 18. Dusty Rhodes 19. Edge 20. Jerry Lawler 21. Lou Thesz 22. Terry Funk 23. Hulk Hogan 24. Bruno Sammartino 25. Chris Jericho 26. Ted DiBiase 27. Fabulous Moolah 28. Freddie Blassie 29. Randy Orton 30. Pat Patterson 31. The Iron Sheik 32. Jimmy Snuka 33. Mick Foley 34. Kurt Angle 35. Buddy Rogers 36. Gorilla Monsoon 37. Junkyard Dog 38. Billy Graham 39. Jake Roberts 40. Big Show 41. Jack Brisco 42. Sgt. Slaughter 43. Kane 44. Nick Bockwinkel 45. Jeff Hardy 46. Dory Funk Jr. 47. Bob Backlund 48. Rick Rude 49. Batista 50. Killer Kowalski
Who in the hell wrote this list? What is the criteria?
First and foremost, how is Shawn Michaels no.1? I get that it's the "top 50 WWE superstars on all time" I take it as meaning they made a big impact or had a great career in WWE alone. If this is the case, Harley Race should be nowhere near as high as he is, since he was only in WWE for like 2 years. And why would Hulk Hogan be 23rd? Shouldn't he be much higher? and Rey Mysterio no. 9? Are you serious? Really? Duck tape?
Thoughts?

Lol like they'd give the number one spot to Hogan when he's in another promotion.

Two words; Chris Benoit. Seriously. Yeah, he did some terrible things, but the list isn't about that. If it's just wrestling, just stuff in the WWE, he needs to be on that list, and within the top 10 too. They need to stop this bull**** their doing with him. And how is Jeff Hardy on it, but not Matt Hardy?

Because Matt never did anything of note during an extended singles run while Jeff did.

In fairness, that may just be a list of the top 50 superstars... there may not be a set order to it yet or ever. I'm saying this since I haven't seen the material where this information has come from and I'm thinking it may not be wise to release the order "before" the customers are allowed to purchase the material.
I'm thinking that may just be the list of names appearing on the DVD.

Who cares the order really. It is a great list of names and it should be a great DVD of highlights. I personally try not to even pay attention to lists like this when they're put out by a company who employs the people in question because there is always bias. The thing that actually impresses me most about the list is that HHH isn't higher.

has anyone else noted that CM Punk hasnt been seen since his little knock on HBK? Punk has been hurt for a while, he's not going to be back till like the Royal Rumble at the earliest.

I agree Hogan should be higher, definitely top ten at least. But I can agree with that top 5. Shawn Micheals is the bees knees in my book.

They listed cena at 16, if it was in order of the best wwe would have thrown him in the top 10 if not top 5. I'm 90 percent sure it's in no specific order.

I am more interested to see a similar list but from 20 years ago. To see who was replaced by the Hbk's and the Takers, HHH etc
