Why do you resist the inevitable Jack?
Why do you continue to fight me?
You know I’m right, I’m always right, I’ve never strayed from the truth to anybody on this roster, I’ve never bared false witness, what I’ve done time and time again is come out, tell you the situation straight and then went on with my business. I have no problem with you as a person Jack, I never have... what I have a problem with was your coming in here and getting immediate fanfar, getting people to act gaga over you and forget that you were and forever will be a complete flake on the NCW’s legacy. You made your claim at greatness by becoming the first ever National champion, and you’ve been content with where you are in this business, you’ve been happy being in the second level of wrestlers. Why should us in the back who have bled and almost died for this company sit back and watch you take our spotlight? Why should we stand back and let you get all the praise from Leonard Fox and his stupid asshat crew of yes men? Why should we not come out here and take back what is rightfully ours? Why should we not demand that we be noticed, that we be the ones getting the spotlight time?
So why do you fight this Jack? Do you contend that you actually deserve all the fanfare you received? Do you actually think that you’re worthy of all the attention and praise that was thrown at your return? If you do, then you are by far a crazier sonova... than anybody ever gave you credit for. See, your little stake on NCW history is nothing more than just an afterthought, sure you’ll go down as the first National champion, an accolade that I nor anyone could ever take away from you, I won’t even try, nor will a try and say it’s a meaningless accomplishment, because it isn’t. You did some good things, yeah.. so what. You haven’t done nearly enough to stake your claim on the likes of a hall of fame induction or a world title run. Your accomplishments have been... shall I say... Ordinary?
I’m the alpha and the omega around here Manson, the beginning and the end, it all starts with and it all ends with me, the king, the ruler, the best wrestler this company has. Like I told you before, If you want to break through in this company, then I have to allow it to be, then I have to make it so. What you did... just walking in here and acting like you were all special all of a sudden, trying to get your name back out there into the spotlight was grade A horse crap. See... and this thing isn’t just about you, it’s about everybody like you, all the people who think they can have everything in this life handed to them, everybody who thinks that just by being a name you can walk into a company and be granted every title opportunity you want..
Not here...
not anymore...
Not with me around...
{The scene opens up to find Adam sitting behind the steering wheel of the car on the way to somewhere, the destination is unknown at this point. We can see Kelly sitting by his side with her arms wrapped around him in an embrace and rests her head on his shoulder. She looks out the window and perks up a little, smiling to herself as Adam can’t see her.}
Kelly: So...do you think she’s really quitting?
Adam: Probably.
Kelly: You don’t care?
Adam: She’s a big girl and I was never huge on her doing this in the first place, what do I care?
Kelly: You’re not mad at me?
Adam: You’re my wife, I’ll side with you over my sister.
Kelly: Awww how sweet!
{Kelly wraps her arms as best she can around him, squeezing as hard as she can as she hugs him closer to her body. She has a big devilish looking smile on her face as she embraces, which slowly fades from her face as she closes her eyes again. However, it’s not long before she perks right back up, she lets go of her hold around him and sits up in the seat, as if she senses something amiss.}
Kelly: Adam... I’m sorry.
Adam: Kelly I said I don’t care about what is going on between you and Zelda. You are both grown women, you can handle yourselves. If she chooses to continue fighting then whatever.
Kelly: I just feel like something is bugging you, you sure nothing is up?
{Adam takes a deep breath, obviously not feeling like he needs to answers these questions coming from his wife, but whatever... he’ll indulge her. Adam turns his head and for the first time looks at his bride for the past year.}
Adam: Just have my mind on other things Kel.
Kelly: Manson?
Adam: Of course.
Kelly: Welll what’s wrong? Not worried about losing are you?
Adam: Hell no, why in God’s name would I worry about something like that? No, just thinking about this match, thinking about everything I’m fighting for. Wondering if I really want to be going down this road again, wondering if it’s even worth it. Look at the people like Manson and the Rat Pack, they’re more of them coming every week... more of them invading this company and acting like it’s their personal stomping ground without any regard to those that came before them....
Kelly: Well, isn’t it a lot like the Revolution, you always said it wasn’t wrong because what you were fighting for in the end was worth the effort involved.
Adam: I guess....
{Adam’s thoughts trail off as he stares at the window. The house comes into view and Adam takes a deep breath, he is clearly not ready for what is about to happen. He turns and looks at Kelly.}
Kelly: Well we’re here.. this should be fun..
Adam: Be nice. It’s Thanksgiving.
Kelly: Hey, if she says one word to me, I’m going to slap her.
Adam: Kel.
Kelly: Gah... fine....
{The car comes to a stop and Kelly steps out and goes to the back door to grab Ryleigh from her car seat, as Kelly tends to that Adam stays in the driver’s seat for a second, he stares out the window, looking out into the sky and we fade away.}
So many people think they deserve everything handed to them, think they are owed accolaides and honor for no reason other than they demand it. I see you as one of those people Jack, I see you as somebody who feels they are privileged, that they should get whatever they want. Is that wrong of me? Just to assume something about somebody else? No, because I saw how you acted, I saw the way you milked this whole return of yours, like a crack whore looking for one more hit, on more high, you soaked up all the cheers and all the praise and went all out in your acting like you were important. You can’t deny that fact, you can’t say you didn’t play to the crowd and really got their fickle little emotions going.
Look at the way you delayed the announcement for weeks. Making sporadic appearances and occasional promos. You wanted everybody here to put their whole attention on you and you only, you wanted it all and got all the attention you wanted, it’s just you didn’t count on one person taking notice, you didn’t bet on your attention whoring ways would work that well, because I showed you... showed you that it wasn’t going to be tolerated anymore. You got my attention Manson, and believe me... it may very well be the worst mistake you’ve ever made. Thank you for that though Manson, because thanks to your actions it opened up for me a perfect opportunity to restake my claim at my throne, it opened a path for me to get back to the top of NCW, a golden opportunity to prove that I am still here.
Just remember this Jack, when the smoke settles and it’s all said an done, that you brought this on yourself. You opened the door and I took advantage, you wanted all theis attention, you wanted everybody to focus on you... well that’s exactly what happened, in the end.. this is exactly what you wanted. Just remember that, this is what you wished for...
This is what you wanted.
You're welcome.
