OPENING
It's time of the week for another exciting edition of the greatest show/column in NCW history, the one and only Knitelife brought to you every Tuesday by Kelly Knite. It's been a great week of NCW action and I'm here to bring you the lowdown on what happened and a preview of what's to come. There's a lot to get into this week, and I don't have a huge amount of time, so lets just get right into it shall we?
First off, we have to go over the poll from this past week where I asked you about one of the biggest stories going on in NCW right now. As you know Andrew Jacobsen and Steve Awesome have been going at each other over the issue of Steve sleeping with AJ's mom, and the situation has gotten even worse with Steve savagely beating AJ's father. Your poll results show that you all thought it was a stupid decision for him to challenge Steve and it would appear that you fans were right when you chose that it was an idiotic choice, because Jason Jacobsen is most likely still in a hospital bed after what Steve did to him.
Now this week we're going to go into a poll that revolves around the Riot match coming up at Time to Riot. I'm going to do a couple of these polls before the big show, I will pick some names at random and you will decide of those names who is most likely to win this Riot match. It'll be a fun little poll I think to see what everybody is thinking about this Riot match.
Now there is no more time to waste here, we had some very good action this week and we should just get right into it with my week in review section of this Knitelife.
REVIEW
::TRAUMA::
Well obviously I have to mention what was probably the match of the night when Roxxxie had her biggest win of her NCW career when she upset the favorite in this match, Emma Danielson, the former Women's World Champion. The show was fantastic... except Venom decided he had to come out and have his say on recent events. Yawn Venom... Yawn. Other then that the show was just very good, and that isn't a lie at all. Hugo Conway had another amazing upset with his victory over the former World Champion Xavier Williams. Conway has been very impressive these past two weeks and he's rising up the ranks faster than you could imagine.
The two tag team matches that ended the show were just fantastic as well. Sydney and Freya, known collectively as the “Gamer Girls” in another place.... despite the fact that Syd was a historic champion they faced a tough team of the Current Women's World champion and her #1 Contender. It was a great match and a huge return for Freya, she's been through so much and seeing her win, without Zelda screwing it up... it was fantastic.
Then of course...the main event... wow. I don't know what to say about this unholy duo of Harold and Maniac... I... wow. It's a sign of terrible things to come for NCW.
::COLLISION::
Collision was a fantastic show, very fantastic, amazingly fantastic... and I'm not saying that only because the Young Guns got smacked down into their places and not just because Sydney espcially got a little taste of her own medicine, but also because the matches and the show overall was just fantastic. The undercard was some grade A matches. Ricky Johnson and Tempestad.. those two or two of the best and most exciting wrestlers that NCW has ever had with their blend of High Flying and technical skills, they really put on a show to kick off the night, then Andre Carvetti again shows why he's considered the next big thing in NCW with another impressive win, this time against Todd Williams.
One thing I hated was that Jason Jacobsen match against Steve Awesome. That man had no business to take on Steve Awesome... I know he wanted to defend the claim on his wife, but it was useless.. Steve Awesome is a hall of famer, it was going to be a slaughter from the very beginning and now that dude my have his chest caved in. It was disgusting seeing what Steve did, Andrew tried to make the save but it was also pointless. The match wasn't a contest... it was disgusting and it honestly made me sick to see it. Speaking of making me sick... I'm glad those punishment matches for Falcon are apparently over. He took a beating last night in that tables match, I'm glad Angel is around to put a stop to that.
Ok... the end of the show was great with the huge six man main event and the tag team number one contenders match, but depite how fantastic those matches where, they don't compare to the huge announcement that was made... which I sort of ruined for those who haven't heard with my previous paragraph. Angel, with the resignation of Drake Tyson, has become the new General manager of NCW. He announced his leaving the ring, and his taken this new position, immediately laying down the law on what he expects around here.
The show was fantastic and ended on a huge note. Things for the next few weeks are really starting to take shape, and this show was instrumental in a lot of these revelations. Overall I have to give this entire week an A.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Tempestad :: He took on Ricky Johnson in what was a fantastic match. He deserves this spot for his great display this week.
4. Total Eclipse :: They took down the super team of DDK and Adam Knite, it was a tough match regardless of their dirty tactics, it became almost impossible with them, but thanks to Jack manson evening the odds Total Eclipse were able to become the number one contenders.
3. Freya :: Freya has been through a lot, recently haven't a miscarriage, she decided the best way to deal with the pain was to come back to the ring, it was a great win for her and I'm happy to see her pic up that victory.
2. Roxxxie :: She had an amazing week, despite the fact that Mystery Man has been hounding her thoughts, she came out and found a way to stay focused and pick up the victory. It was a huge upset against the former Women's World Champion.
1. Hugo Conway :: Another week, and another huge upset, this time he took on his toughest opponent to date.. a former World champion in the form of Xavier Williams. Hugo Conway is rolling right now folks, that loss to Joe Ragnal at Breaking Away, did not slow him down in the slightest.
PREVIEW
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 6-7 :: Ouch.. took a hit there, made a few illadvised choices, but I guess I can't be too down on myself
OVERALL RECORD:: 304-174 :: Exactly 130 up and I cracked that 300 correct picks barrier! Come on, give it up, you know I'm awesome.
::TRAUMA::
Tag Team Match
Adam and Kelly Knite vs. Senior Xtremo and Roxxxie
:: Yes, that's right you read it here folks, I'm getting back into the ring for the first time since I was drove off the top of that steel cage and me and the love of my life will be taking on a masked man who totally isn't Spike Kane and a woman who looks like she's ready to take off with that last win, in Roxxxie. It's not going to be an easy match, but I think we can handle it.
Winners: Adam and Kelly
Non Title Singles Match
Ander Carvetti vs. Chuck Moss
:: This is going to be the best match on Trauma. The National Champion taking on one half of the tag team champions and the current hottest star in NCW, Ander Carvetti. It's going to be fantastic and it's hard to vote against the hot hand, so I have to side with the young Carvetti.
Winner: Ander Carvetti
Singles Match
Stephanie Sullivan vs Emma Danielson
:: Trish Newborn will be here on Commentary for this big match between the woman she beat for the Women's title and her #1 Contender. This is going to be a fantastic match. 1 for Sullivan to stake her claim and prove she is women's title worthy, and for Emma to get back on the right track.
Winner: Emma Danielson
Main Event
DDK vs Shane Hunt
:: Shane Hunt has by far his biggest match in NCW thus far, he's taking on the former world champion, and the master of “The Bang!”. It's going to be a fantastic match to witness, but it's going to be tough job for Hunt to bring down a competitor like DDK.
Winner: DDK
::COLLISION::
Singles Match
Trish Newborn vs Freya Kane
:: Stephanie Sullivan returns the favor of Trish Newborn on commentary for her match in this big time match. Freya wants to work her way up to that Women's world championship... and this match will go a long way in doing that. I don't know if she can handle this much pressure right away, but she sure will try.
Winner: Freya Kane – Upset of the Week
Tag Team Match
Total Eclipse vs Lex Sense And Joe Everyman
:: Well Lex Sense and Everyman were able to beat Falcon in a handicap match, but this is going to be a much tougher situation with the Tag Team #1 Contenders Total Eclipse on the other side of the ring. This should be a good match, but I don't see how Sense and Everyman can match Total Eclipse as a team.
Winners: Total Eclipse
Triple Threat Match
Ricky Johnson vs Jack Manson vs Steve Awesome
:: This is going to be the best match of the night without a doubt. All three men are former National champions, all three men have been an intrical part of NCW's history since they've arrived. It's going to be epic.
Winner: Steve Awesome
Tag Team Match
Falcon and Zelda vs. Todd Williams and Crystal Hilton Williams
:: Ha ha ha ha ha Sydney has to actually wrestle this match! This is great, she has to team up with Falcon to win or she'll get fired, that's great. I'm already loving Angel as the general manager for making this match and ending the Falcon beatings.
Winners: Falcon and Sydney
Tag Team Grudge Match
Homeless Harold and Maniac vs. Joe Ragnal and Gabriel Karras
:: Oh man... the first teaming of Harold and Maniac.. the doom team of death. I don't see how Karras or Ragnal even come close to standing a chance here, not with these monsters breathing down their throats.
Winners: Harold and Maniac
Singles Match
Dave Holland vs. Venom
:: Did I mention that I love Angel already? Really? Giving Venom the World champion as punishment... that's fantastic. I'm going to love seeing Venom get his douche ass handed to him. This is going to be great.
Winner: Dave Holland – Lock of the Week
Main Event: Death Cage
Charlie Velez vs. Alex Jones
:: Another of Angel's great ideas. As a little bit of payback Angel booked his close friend Alex Jones against Charlie Velez. Alex Jones is somewhat of a veteran of this kind of match, he and Angel almost killing each other before. This is going to be a tough one for Charlie methinks. However, Velez is good enough to win any match thrown at him, still in the end I have to go with Alex.
Winner: Alex Jones
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Charlie Velez vs Alex Jones :: I mean really... it's a freaking Death Cage match on Collision! This is going to be one of those matches that just makes you go wow and it's coming to your TV screen live on Collision. These two just may kill each other, and you know how much random death brings in the big rating numbers.
:: Venom :: Why? Because he has the chance to gain a victory over the current World champoin one on one. This is a golden opportunity for Venom, one that he can't pass up. I think he's going to come out firing and full strength, going all out to win this match, but will it be enough? Who knows.
:: Falcon and Sydney vs. Crystal and Todd Williams :: This is going to be great because Zelda has to wrestle the match, she has to go all out or she gets the can. You know that means she'll have to cooperate with Falcon in this attempt at being the other Husband-Wife tag team in NCW. Can she work as a team with the man who broke her heart and possible her sternum? We'll see.
:: Shane Hunt :: Why? Because he is facing the former World Champion in the Trauma main event. This is a situation to really make a name for yourself. Shane Hunt has the perfect chance here to really grab some attention from not only the fans, but by NCW's management as well.
KNITELINE
Jack Wilson, Seattle, Washington
Was it just me, or did Xavier Williams really look like Todd Williams this past Saturday on Trauma?
:: Hey, that sounds like racist talk. I'd just like to point out that is wrong and NCW does not approve. You sir are a jerk.
Bryan Meltzer; Venice Beach, CA
Which one of the Rat Pack do you see winning singles gold first?
:: Seeing as how Carvetti and Holliday are the current tag team champions, I'm going to go with Roxxxie.
Dave T. Zombie, K-Town, PA
Its not a big wrestling question but what are your views on Christmas? Personally, I'm kind of sick of it already and its still a few weeks off.
:: I love Christmas.. it's a great time of year to be with family and get presents, and all that great stuff. Plus I love those animated christmas movies. Especially the one with the Miser brothers. Adam and Sydney on the other hand kind of hate it.. since that's around the time their mother passed away.
Jonas Slaugher; Ocean city
Now that Angel is GM how does this change the landscape of NCW?
:: I don't think it'll change a whole lot, except that you want see so much of the Young Guns running rampant around here.
Senseless Lex Luger
Somewhere in Connecticut
For the second week in a row, Lex Sense and Joe Everyman have been put together as a tag team, this week against a respectable team. What are your thoughts on this pairing?
:: That they're are stupid and worthless? It includes Joe Everyman.. what else am I supposed to think.
George Adam, NY.
What are your thoughts on nCw's progression as far as women are concerned. Going from having none bar Kelly to full fledge, and often intimidating womens division.
:: I hate to say this.. but with the way Zelda kicked off this Women's division, I think she gave it a huge boost of credibility. Nobody could stop here, women were stepping up left and right, giving it everything they had to try and be the one to defeat her. It's become high competitive and you've got to love that.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Have I mentioned that I'm loving Angel as the General Manager already?
:: All joking aside, it should be interesting to see how Falcon and Syd work as a team. I think they can handle it, Falcon is a professional and Z has her career on the line.
:: This thing between Steve and Andrew has went from horrible.. to tragic. I don't see how anything can fix this right now.... Jacobsen has so much to fight for right now.
:: I'm in the ring again.... you know you love it.
:: I still can't believe that Homeless Harold and Maniac are a team... what in the hell is going on around here?
:: I don't know if you've given this any thought but... Total Eclipse versus The Rat Pack is going to be huge.
:: I also can't believe the rumors about this mystery person who is apparently stalking Roxxxie... this is going to be a bad situation real soon.
:: There isn't going to be a Trauma Christmas week, but we are going to be putting on a Collision show. It should be a good show.
Well That's all there is for me this week, I really hope you guys enjoyed this despite the fact that I am feeling a bit wore out right now and had a tough time getting this up.
Until next time,
Kelly Knite
