This is the start of the new game I've been talking about.... n stuff...
Current Players: Mandas, lil AJ, Samuelwise Gamgee, Freakke, Ander, and Lex.
I'll accept more, but I think more than 8 would be too many so don't all sign up at once.
No, really.. please don't...
Anyway... game..
Premise:
It's 2377. In 2099, the world blew up.
Well not, literally.
But almost.
Only scattered pockets of humans remain, trying to survive in a world gone mad. The explosions that rocked the planet changed it radically, and people are desperate just to make it through each day. Climates shifted to form a vastly different landscape. Radation sickness and death are serious everyday concerns in some areas. The population is a mere fraction of a fraction of it's former self. Technology is an afterthought, and only ruthless cunning, fast reflexes and a whole lot of luck are treasures. Dare you trek into a world of madness, cruelty and pain? I hope so.
Welcome to hell.
Basically, the group belongs to an company of warrior-survivalists who travel, map and trade. Visiting different areas to discover radical mutations, weird tribes of people, and hectic life and death situations.
Ok, moving on.. going to lay this out for you in the same way I would if you were creating a character for the first time.
Whats the first step? Rolling the stats. There are six, pretty standard.
Strength, Speed, Vitality, Mind, Intellect and Charisma
Just a bit of updating on the names really. That and they do some unique things to this game, but I'll get to that later.
Strength: Basic, how strong the character is. How much they can lift and carry. I'm not big on number crunching encumberance, but if you try to drag the whole armory with you, I'm gonna have to No it. Also, bonuses on attack and damage.
Speed: Also basic, how fast you move, inherant quickness. Why didn't I just keep it Dexterity? Because I really hate spelling that word.
Vitality: Health, resistance to poison, disease and rad sickness, stablizing when crippled (0 HP or less), all standard stuff. Why didn't I just call it constitution? I hate that word too.
Mind: Mind represents your ability to remain calm under pressure. How well you deal with the horrific sights of the desolate lands. Basically, a high Mind stat, prevents you from panicking at a key time.
Intellect: Or Intellegence, whatever you wanna call it. Intellect is your ability to mentally understand the depravity and indifference of a wasteland. It helps maintain your sanity.
*in D&D these were the "magic" stats, but there's no magic in this game.
Charisma: Charisma is your personality. It helps in interactions with other people, and a little effect on your transactions. Also, it helps Soothe the panicked and rationalize the insane. (In case the two stats above fail you.)
The Max starting stat is 10, and they have a bonus of +1 for each 2 points (round up). I know you're saying, but that means theres no negative stats, and my reasoning for that is that surviving in a wasteland isn't easy and only the strong will survive. Plus, hey.. who likes negative stats?
1/2: +1
3/4: +2
5/6: +3
7/8: +4
9/10: +5
11/12: +6
And so forth. Any ideas or comments feel free to reply. More to come as I get the details fleshed out, so keep checking.
Except stupid things like pointing out that we're nerds. That gets you a week ban on the cbox. /abuse of power.
