You still do not get it, Chris.
I still see through you
I can see right through you.
That mask does not give you power..
That mask covers your humanity.
It covers the fact that you lie..
Monster? No..
Man.
You've hurt..
Haven't you?
Back..
Neck..
Knees..
Muscles..
All worn and torn from your years in the ring.
You think the mask makes all those just.. go away?
I think not Chris.
But it runs deeper.
The mask covers your emotional pain.
The fear of being alone..
The hatred of the people who don't love you like you want them to...
The pain of ruining other peoples lives for nothing..
All of it...
For someone talking about me hiding behind my religion..
You do enough hiding that you should know the difference.

{Gabriel was kneeling before the altar. His eyes were open, and he stared ahead, unseeing what he was looking at.}
Karras: If I'm supposed to let her go.. why does this hurt so...?
{Karras closed his eyes, and shook his head, trying to block out something. He was interrupted by Amanda.}
Amanda: Having doubts, Father?
Karras: About what I must do... no..
Amanda: Then why the tear?
{Karras realized a tear had started to fall across his cheek, and wiped it away.}
Karras: Is it wrong to shed a tear for a fallen friend?
Amanda: Fallen? No, she turned from you.. willingly.. all she needed was an excuse..
Karras: How can you say such things?
{Amanda shrugged.}
Amanda: Because it was true. You saw it. She did not fight him, not even one bit.. a half second, no more... and she gave in.
Karras: And you would not have?
Amanda: I cannot turn from you Gabriel, as I am not bound to you. I am merely an advisor.. but now that's she's gone..
{Gabriel was standing now, and she stepped to him, pressing her body closer to his, unnaturally close.}
Amanda: I can take her place.. if you like...
{A simple gesture with his shoulder, and it created some distance between them. Amanda looked more annoyed than hurt, and shrugged her shoulders again.}
Amanda: As you wish, Gabriel... just know that you can only give in so far...
{She turned and started away.}
Amanda: Before you actually have to...

It's amazing how you can find new ways to say the same things. Oh, God doesn't exist.. God's not real.. My God is better than your God... the same old arguments I've heard my entire adult life. And yet, you fail to understand things as they are. Here, let me try to explain this in a way your simple mind can understand.
God is like the President, and I am a regular soldier.
When a nation goes to war, they do not send the leader. He does not enter the battlefield. Therefore, using that fact as the basis for your fallacies is simply rubbish. I've never told anyone that God was coming, or that He was going to smite them in a blaze of white light. But you think I did, because the sound of your own voice drowns out anything anyone else says. But that's fine, Chris. I don't have to try to be you, to beat you.
But beat you I will.
Because the righteous wins in the end. The light always banishes the darkness when the battlegrounds is cleared of debri. Each thing you take, each thing you destroy, each thing you corrupt, only brings the executioner's axe closer. Even if it is not me, it will be someone else. There is always another hero, waiting for his chance to slay the demons to make his own mark. Or perhaps it could be your very partner? How long do you think Harold will play second fiddle to you, or you to him? One of you is superior to the other, and it will only be a matter of time before we find out which one, and thus the decay will begin. Your future is already pre-determined Chris, your inevitable downfall will one day be at hand.
I'm just speeding it along, that's all.
Bury me, if you can...
Kill me, if you dare..[/b]
