OPENING
I hope all you loyal NCW fans had a great holidays so far and I doubly hope that it just continues to get better. The most important thing though is that NCW put on a show for you enjoyment this week... ok.. it's not the most important thing, but just humor me will you. I'm sorry this week my knitelife isn't going to be the best ever, but I hope it does give you a bit of entertainment as a close off to the past year, 43 straight weeks of this column and I'm very proud of that, thank all of you for following me and forcing me to do this week in and week out.
Before we begin though, I'll just confirm the rumors, yes the reports of one Kyle Braddock... getting abusive with Zelda is true. The fans on the forums at NCW.com have been in an uproar over it, but that's all we can say for now... Zelda isn't going to press any charges so it seems to be a dead matter that she's just going to try and forget. However... lets all flame Falcon for being a jerk.
Wit that out of the way lets get straight to it, last week's poll. Well that was interesting, Steve Awesome according to all of you great fans is the lock of those men, which was a much tougher selection this time around, impressive. I can't say it's a bad choice and if I did I would be a filthy liar, so good job everybody because Steve is definitely one of the favorites for this match. He was runner up last year I believe, and this year he's promised to come back with a vengeance and win this thing, and it doesn't hurt that he just earned himself the 30th spot either. He has the advantage over every single other person in the match.
This week We're going to do things a bit differently for one.. I know what match you're most looking forward to, it's pretty obvious. So for the final poll of the year, I'm going to ask all of you what did you think of the NCW action you've seen over the past year. That's right, rate NCW's past year. We've had a lot of great shows this year and some huge feuds and events go down. We've seen Steve Awesome try and force me into slave labor, we've had the emergence of Zelda, we've even seen the transformation of Angel from the mindless monster to the General Manager of NCW. A lot has happened, what do you think about it?
REVIEW
I thought the Holiday show was great. We saw a lot of emotion from the people who won awards, we saw some very good matches and from beginning to end, the whole thing was just really good in my opinion. We got a new Champion for one thing, congratulations Homeless Harold you sick bastard, and we saw Steve Awesome win the 30th spot, then accept his Heel of the Year trophy.... congratulations jackass.
Overall I'd say It was one of the better weeks for NCW action, even if it was just one show, and it was only six matches, it was just fun and entertaining from the get go. Overall I've gotta give this show a very good B+.
THE FAB FIVE
5: Zelda Knite :: Roxxxie has a big streak of wins going into this tag team match and was impressing everybody who saw her wrestle. She didn't let anybody down, not a bit as she gave Z everything she should handle an more, However in the end it was Zelda and Senior Xtremo coming out on top.
4: Shane Hunt :: He won the Assault X-Mas match and earned himself a shot at the Tag Team titles with a partner of his choosing, it was a great win against some great wrestlers and he's being rewarded for it greatly. That was a lot of greats..
3: Velez and Venom :: The crazy team of Lex Sense and Joe Everyman has finally lost a match, many were wondering if they'd ever lose. The Young Guns though proved to be too much in this one.
2: Steve Awesome :: He won the 30th spot in the riot. It doesn't matter how he did it, he just did it.
1: Homeless Harold :: Joe Ragnal gave this match everything he had and he had this big monster on the ropes the entire time. I'm thinking this isn't the last we've seen of Harold and Rags, but in the end Harold did what it took to win this belt.
PREVIEW
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 6-0 :: That's right bitches! Every single match! Boo Ya! There were only six of them, but who cares I got every stinking one of them right!
OVERALL RECORD:: 316-180 :: OH YEAH! After almost 500 predictions I'm at 64% correct rate, I've gotta say I think that's pretty awesome.
Tag Team Match
Peachez and Kreme vs. Roxxxie and Zelda
:: Like I'm seriously going to predict that these two hoes are going to defeat the best Women's wrestler in the company and the fastest rising woman wrestler? Please. This match shouldn't even be close really. I don't see how there is any way that
Winners: Zelda nad Roxxxie
Grudge Match
Adam Knite vs. Jack Manson
:: Jack Manson is a great wrestler and is really one of NCW's cornerstones and signature wrestlers this company has seen since it's opened it's doors. With that said... so is Adam. This is going to be a battle between the of the biggest wrestlers NCW has ever seen. It should be a match to be remembered for years to come, I for one can't wait for it.
Winner: Adam Knite
Women's World Championship
Trish Newborn vs. Stephanie Sullivan
:: This is a toughy... Trish on one hand took NCW by storm and has in a very short time rose to the top of the women's rankings, however I've been told that one Stephanie Sullivan has never lost a singles match in her entire career. This should be another one of those matches like Adam versus Jack Manson. It's going to be intense.
Winner: Trish Newborn
Buried Alive Match
Maniac vs. Gabriel Karras
:: These two have been in a vicious cycle lately, they haven't been able to separate their hands from each other's necks. If I was picking any match that could possibly upstage the the World title match or Riot... this would be it because it's going to be bloody and it's going to be brutal and it's going to possibly be a bit scary when we see one man buried alive.
Winner: Gabriel Karras
NCW World Championship Match
Dave Holland vs. Charlie Velez
:: The possible final match between these two. It's been a brutal battle with these two that each and every time has come down to the wire on which wrestler would come out on top. It just might be the most electrifying match on the card, and that even includes the RiOT. I don't now what these two men have left for each other, but I expect surprises and I expect them wrestling until they can no longer walk. Velez wants to finally have that World title around his waist, he finally wants to be a the holder of the biggest prize in wrestling... can he finally secure that win and put his place in history?
Winner: Charlie Velez
MAIN EVENT
The Riot Match
:: This is going to be amazing if last year is any indication. I suspect we're going to witness a historic match, something that we'll never forget because there are 30 men here who are intent on winning this sucker at all costs.
Winner: I'm going to pick five people (Venom, Steve Awesome, Falcon, DDK, Rob Diamond) they are the ones I think who will win this thing. I'm going out on a limb and I'm picking Rob Diamond as the overall winner for an extra point.
I'm not going to do a “What to Keep an Eye” on this week, because honestly.. just look at the card, it's pretty obvious what you're going to be keeping an eye on, I'm not stupid.
KNITELINE
Chris Stevenson; Las Vegas, NV
After having a great competitive first year for the nCw Women's division, do you see anyone from the past year who aren't in the company right now to come back? It's about to be the one year anniversary after all since it had been formed. If so, who would you like returning?
:: I don't see anybody coming back at this moment, however if I had a guess on who would be the first to return I'd say either Ashlie Ember or Tara Fenix would be the most likely. I guess I'd like to see Tara Fenix return, I give her a lot of crap, mainly just because her and Zelda always seemed to be going at it, but she is a good wrestler.
Mark Donahue; Hershey, PA
Kelly, have you and Zelda officially made up now? I noticed you've been there for her after this whole incident with Falcon. Speaking of that, what are your thoughts about it? I mean, this is a guy both you and Adam trusted with her and he does that? Wow.
:: Yeah, we're doing the loving sisters thing again. I'm still pissed that she would attack me like that after I put so much faith in her, but I guess I can get over it for now.. maybe we'll settle this later... and I think it's just a despicable thing to do. I don't care what Zelda has done, but he shouldn't be touching her like that, no matter what. He stepped over the line, even if she asked for it.
Edward Coleman; Bangor, Maine
Doesn't Xavier Cross have a world title shot that he earned in a Mini Riot? What's up with that?
:: Shhh, we don't mention that name around here. He's gotta come back and stay consistent before we can even think about him cashing in.
Amanda St. Claire; St. Louis, Missouri
Have you ever found out who that Mystery Rioter is and if you have what do you think are his chances on winning the match?
:: Oh, I know who it is, in fact with the recent firings of Evan Andrews and Brad Kane, I know there is going to be a second.... that's right SECOND secret entrant! I know who they both are and I'm not telling. I think both men have very good chances on winning this thing if they put their minds do it.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Zelda is officially no longer a teenager on the 30th, enjoy it.
:: You can really see who is stepping up in an attempt to win this Riot match. Right now it's about six or so people who you can see are really wanting this win.
:: When the New Year comes around it'll make it officially a year since NCW started our Women's Division. It's been a cool ride and we've only had 3 champions the entire year. Not bad, lets hope it continue to does well.
:: Speaking of the New Year, my resolution is going to be to try and stop being so bitchy. I know it's going to be tough, but I'll do my best.
:: Please tell I'm not the only person who turned it on to the 24 Hours straight of the Christmas Story movie and kept the TV on that channel for all 24 hours.
:: Thank you everybody for making this another exciting calendar year of NCW action. I'm looking forward to a great 2011 and I hope everybody else is to, We could of never gotten this far without your support.
Until next time....
