You talk..
And you talk...
And you talk..
But still you do not understand.
God can destroy entire cities..
But would he do so to kill just one man?
Or even a handful?
Never.
You're so naive it is rather comical.
What would you expect him to do?
Blow up the arena?
Blast our travel planes with lightning?
Destroy our hotels?
I truly hope you do not think that.
I gave you more credit, honestly..
I'm sorry I did not spell out..
Each..
Single..
Syl...
A..
Ble...
For you, Chris.
You think you have to be right because most of the world shares your views.
Most people think Jesus was actually born in December.
That he was actually ressurected on Easter.
Hell, most people couldn't pick out certain countries on a map.
So if standing apart makes me different.
I would much rather be alone.
Than be one of you.

{Karras was standing outside the church, or what was left of it. Flames had destroyed what was once a house of God. Karras didn't feel too bad about it, it was just a building, it could be rebuilt, things could be replaced. He was simply thankful that nobody was hurt. Then again, Chris was not stupid. Arson was one thing, murder and manslaughter another. A member of the fire department made his way over to Gabriel.}
Fireman: Definitely arson, Father. We found accelerants spread on flammable items.. no way this was an accident.
Karras: I see, thank you.
{This news was no surprise to Gabriel. And his face didn't change expression. The fireman seemed a little taken aback by the lack of reaction, but didn't press.}
Fireman: Any idea who's behind this? Do you have any enemies?
Karras: All men of God have enemies, my child.
Fireman: Well.. yea.. but anybody specific? Some place to start our investigation?
{Karras was silent for a moment. The Arson investigator was about to ask again, when Karras uttered a single word.}
Karras: No...
Fireman: None whatsoever?
Karras: No. I'm sorry, but there has never been a problem at this church.
Fireman: Well, if you say so.. we'll look into the locals, see what we can dig up. But this town is rather quiet.. so I'm not expecting much.
Karras: It is quite alright, my son. Buildings can be rebuilt, this will not deter me from being the presence of God in this area.
Fireman: Right. Well, good luck to you then.
{The man walked away. No sooner than that, Amanda appeared behind Karras, almost like a spectre in the night.}
Amanda: Pity...
Karras: It can be rebuilt...
Amanda: If you're still here to do it...
Karras: Oh, I will be..
Amanda: There was a time I would have agreed with you...
Karras: Oh.. and praytell what changed for you?
{She turned from him, heading back to the darkness of the night.}
Amanda: For me, Father.. nothing...
{Karras watched her go. When she was out of earshot, she whispered.}
Amanda: But you... are alone..

This isn't an argument about semantics Chris, this is exactly the same as it has been for us.
You, clinging to whatever scrap of half truth, exageration or insinuation you can get a hold of just to try and be right.
Me, telling you the unvarnished truth.
Sure, God has destroyed whole cities. But think about this Chris.. We are His Children. There comes a time where we have to take responsibilities for ourselves. A time where we have to grow up and stop relying on our diety to come handle all the things we wish we could just sweep under the rug. That's your problem Chris.. you use your mask, the darkness in your heart and the evil in your soul as some kind of justification for the things you do, and yet at the same time you try to tell me that my entire purpose is lost because of some technicality of twisting two thousand year old words. Seems to me..
You'd rather not take responsibilties yourself.
Chris wasn't responsible for hurting people, Maniac was. Chris didn't burn down my home, Maniac did. It doesn't matter if the mask is on your face or not, it's always the focal point of how you present yourself these days, isn't it Chris? Always using it to deter people from seeing who you are.
A man, who hurts, who's bitter, who's angry at the world.
You can take everything from me, my friends, my followers, my home.. but it will not deter me from fighting against you. God is going to aid neither you or me. He will have no hand in this, because He knows like I do...
It's time for you to grow up Chris.
Stop playing Monster...
And take responsibility for being a man.

{The following is hand cam footage. It is in the rectory of the church, before it burned. Maniac stood in the room, presumably alone.}
Maniac: Oh, and to what do I owe this pleasure...?
{Barely edging into the frame was Amanda, in her black robe. Her hood covered her narrow face, but the smallest hint of a smile played on her dark lips.}
Amanda: I've come to offer you a proposition..
Maniac: And what would that be, exactly?
{She stepped more into the frame, casting a look back at the camera. She had been the one to set it up, and she was checking to see if it was working.}
Amanda: Let's just say... I don't like being on the losing side...
{As she walked toward him, her robe slowly slipped off her shoulders, falling to the floor. She was nude underneath.}
Amanda: And you look to me.. like a winner..
Maniac: And I'm supposed to be tempted by this?
Amanda: I'll do anything to be on the winning side...
Maniac: Anything?
Amanda: Anything.
{Maniac made a subtle gesture, a simple nod of the head. And suddenly a ivory statue of the Saint Christopher came into view. It crashed down on Amanda's naked back, streaking it with blood as the statue shattered into fragments. Stepping into frame, holding the pieces of the statue, was Desiree.}
Maniac: Thank you, Des.
{Desiree giggled. Not the cute tee hee like girls do, some kind of twisted snicker from someone out of their mind.}
Desiree: Oh, don't mention it.. I hated the bitch anyway...
{Maniac leaned down to speak to Amanda, even as she was struggling to shrug off the pain.}
Maniac: Your first mistake.. was thinking that I could be bargained with.. your second.. was thinking that I am anything like him.
{Maniac and Desiree stepped out of frame.}
