OPENING
Welcome NCWites, I know you've just been waiting for this all day, all week perhaps and there Is no longer any need to worry because here I am ready to bring you that exciting Knitelife action that you can't ever seem to get enough of. We had some great action this week that I truly hope everybody enjoyed because it was flat out exciting and quite honestly... dare I say.... fantastic.
We had our huge RiOT match that determines the number one contender to the world title and features almost every wrestler on the roster, and just like last year it didn't disappoint at all. We set a few records, topping what happened last year. Andrew Jacobsen almost goes the distance from the #1 spot and Shane Hunt eliminates eight other men. Then not to gloss over it, but Zelda sets another milestone in NCW's women's wrestlling by being the first woman to compete in this type of match. Overall everything was fantastic from Time to Riot.
The poll from last week was over you fans rating NCW's past year, and it really brings a huge smile to my face to see how highly you all thought of this year. The poll was a landslide of overwhelmingly positive reviews and I'm very happy about it, because we came out of that poll with a 9.4 average... WOW! I can't fathom that, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words. I just hope that we can make this next year even better!
This week's poll is going to be about the Riot math and what you think was the best moment from said match. Was Falcon's winning it the best? That's probably the favorite choice, but what about he secret entrances of Ace and Trent Helms? What about Andrew jacobsen's lasting over an hour? There are a ton of ways to go with this, so what do you think was the best single moment from that match?
REVIEW
I don't know where to begin really since the Riot takes up most of the show, so I'll try and keep this brief really, because you all know how awesome that match was and I don't have to repeat it to you. However... there were some great moments during this match, namely seeing Falcon win. I think he's a big flaming jerk right now for punching Zelda, and a lot of people share that opinion but it was still great seeing a man who put so much work into something come out with a victory. Not many people can say they put so much effort into one single mach like he did... it was nice seeing him victorious.
We had a Women's title match that I told you before it happened that it was going to be outstanding and something to watch... aren't you glad you believed me? Those two ladies really took each other to the limit the other night and I have a feeling they aren't done yet. These two women are going to be at each other's throats for a while I think, and I also think we're about to see Roxxxie stake her claim at that title as well. The women's division is looking like it's going to be good for a while and Sydney hasn't even thrown her hat back into contention yet.
Other then that we had a crazy, demented, scary buried alive match that had me on the edge of my seat and we saw the final showdown between Adam Knite and Jack Manson which were both great matches, and not to mention that opening women's tag match. This show was just good from top to bottom. The under card did a great job of building things up, and getting the fans worked into a frenzy for the Riot match, most notably by crowning a new NCW world champion.
THE FAB FIVE
5. Venom :: He entered the RiOT match fifth and was able to last all the way to the very last two. He would be hire on this list if he handn't A: Stolen my gimmick of doing commentary during his owne match and B: if he hadn't taken so many breaks.
4. Andrew Jacobsen:: He gets this spot for entering that match first and lasting to the top five... amazing how much this man put into that match. He would be higher up if he had gotten a few more eliminations.
3. Shane Hunt :: You remember what I said about Jacobsen and eliminations? Well this is why Shane Hunt is above him. He was also one of the first two men in the ring, but he now holds the record for most eliminations in a riot match.
2. Charlie Velez :: He finally did it, he finally captured that world title he so desperately wanted. Now maybe he'll shut up about that past federation he was in, you know... since he's an NCW World champion now.
1. Falcon :: He earned this when he won that Riot match, he might be the scum of the Earth right now, but he won that match through it all, and eliminated all three Young Guns that entered. Impressive really.
PREVIEW
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 8-2 :: I went 4-1 in my top five picks for the Riot and I only got the Karras vs. Maniac match wrong. I think this was a great way to end the year, I whet out with a bang in my final two weeks 18-2... very good if I say so myself.
2010 FINAL RECORD:: 324-182 :: YES! I never broke 200 in the wrong picks category! I officially ended the year at my 64 percent correct picks percentage. Very good stuff, and lets how I start off the new year the same way.

WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: Destructor! :: Destructor is returning to NCW action, shouldn't that be enough for you? He made his return to the ring at the RiOT and is looking to again make his way up the NCW ladder. He left due to a broken heart thanks to Jaymie Boone, but now he's back and he appears to be Zelda Knite's best friend... maybe that's his motivation?
:: Chuck Moss vs. Venom :: As a sort of consulation prize, NCW brass has decided to give Venom a National title shot due to his efforts the other night in that RiOT match. This should be a good one, Venom came a hair from winning the National title once before, but in the end Charlie Velez captured it, now it's his chance to redeem himself.
:: Hunt and Star :: Shane Hunt won a shot at the tag team titles and the former X-Division champion Paul Star has returned to be his partner in this match against the Rat Pack. It's going to be a great match. Hunt proved himself to a lot of people not only by winning this shot but by also eliminating eight other men in that Riot match. You won't want to miss this.
:: Lex Sense vs. Alex Jones :: Alex Jones gets a shot at one of the most controversial champions we've ever had in Lex Sense. He won the belt thanks to a DQ and he doesn't fit the stereotypical mold of an “honor” wrestler, however he's proven that he knows what he's doing in this ring, can the NCW veteran and borderline leged be able to take the strap off his hands? You'll have to watch that and see, because I think it's going to be a great match.
THE KNITELINE
From Dakota Fanning, Reno, Bb
Hey Kelly is it true that you are from a different planet because you are out of this world on commentary[/i]
:: No, I'm from Earth... even though Trent once tried to get me to "ride his spaceship to planet helms"... I never took him up on that offer though.
Tyson Black, Orange County. CA.
In recent weeks Trent Helms has been popping up around NCW, do you think he's planning his come back?
:: I'm not saying a word.
George Lucas, SF, CA
Man, how bad ass was A Time to Riot last night? I mean seriously, it was a light saber battle away from being completely epic. Wait, that wasn't' my question. How awesome were Venom and Falcon in that match last night? There battle was like a scene from a scfi flick. They fought all over the arena and put on one hell of a show. Wait, that wasn't my question either. My question is this, do you think Charlie Velez can match his run as National Champion with the World Championship? It seems like a lot more people are going to be after him now.
:: First.. it was amazing. Second.. they were incredible and third.. yes I think he can, but it's going to be very hard with everybody gunning for him now.
Ken Anderson
From... GREEN BAY... WISCONSIN... UH!MISTER... ANDERSON!
*Ahem* My question for you Kelly is, without being a complete bitch about it, what do you see Joe Everyman doing now that 2011 is finally upon us? Or, better yet, what would you like to see him do this year?
:: I'd like to see him die.
Ok.. seriously.. seeing him with a good tag team, maybe stick with Lex Sense? I think it'd be good for him and less pressure. he seems to always underachieve when there is a lot of pressure on him.
Bill Billington; Billericay, England
Hey Kelly. I remember when Paul Star was around early last year, and he was wrestling alone at main event standard. With that in mind, I want to ask this question. If Shane Hunt and Paul Star fail to win the tag titles this weekend yet work well together, do you think they should continue wrestling as a tag team or concentrate on singles competition again?
:: I think they should stick to it. it'll only be their first tag match together I believe, no reason to give up on something after one loss to the champions. Work and come back stronger.
Trent Helms
Oh snap sorry Kelly I throught this was Zelda phone but on another subject I think my wedding invite was lost in the subspace highway
:: You were the best man... you forgot?
[November 16, 2009]
{Outside it's a cool Autumn day as Adam and Kelly stand in the middle of a beautiful hedge garden, there are white streamers attached to fake white pillars scattered around with a huge audience seating in white chairs, looking up at the couple who stand there holding each other's hands in their own as the preacher talks to them. He stops, and holds his hand out to Adam. Adam turns back and is handed the ring by his friend and bestman, Trent Helms. He takes the ring and slides it on Kelly's ring finger as he speaks.}

"Since apparently there's an automatic rematch clause for anyone that loses in a World Title match, is it safe to say that we'll get Velez vs. Falcon vs. Holland at Metamorphosis? I mean...it's only fair that Holland would get a rematch considering Charlie got 3 tries. I hope Charlie wins though. Once he retains the belt I challenge him to enter the All Valley Karate Tournament."
*From the Distance*
Guy: "Put him in a bodybag Johnny, yeah!"
Johnny: "I'll get to it when I get to it Glen! Jesus!"
*Hangs up*
:: There isn't an Automatic Rematch clause built into every contract we make in NCW.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Steve Awesome is master of this RiOT matches... finished second last year and third this year. He is getting so close... yet walking away just with that shot out of reach.
:: So who was surprised by the mystery entrants in the Riot? We saw Ace, Senior Xtremo, Zelda Knite, and Trent Helms all make unannounced entrances into the match.
:: You should of heard the reaction that Trent Helms got last night... and he's going to have an even bigger announcement on Collision this week. Hee Hee.
:: So last year a man who choked his wife wins the Riot, and this year a guy who punches his girlfriend in the face does.... is spousal abuse a requirement for winning one of these things?
:: Andrew Jacobsen... that kid... what is this... two hours he's spent inside a Riot ring? You'd think he likes it or something.
:: I love seeing DDK give people flying BANG!s, it's so cool... even when it's my little sister on the receiving end.
:: Trent Helms being the Riot and eliminating Joe Everyman? It was like a GD dream come true.
Well that's all I have for this week. I hope you enjoyed the column and the shows and I'll see you here next week!
Until next time..
