OPENING
Welcome NCW fans to another exciting edition of my Knitelife column that I know you've all come to love and look forward to on a weekly basis! We've seen a ton of action this week and the excitement to Metamorphosis is growing every week with every match, and every backstage face to face is growing more intense by the day. It's a good time to be a fan of NCW wrestling, I'll tell you that.
This past week on Trauma and Collision... wow. So much is going on in NCW right now that I barely know where to begin really. This week we'll be having a lot of Number One contenders matches to reward all the wrestlers who have been working hard and putting in a lot of effort into this company as of late. So many people deserve some of these shots but you have to narrow it down and pick the people who have been really catching your eye. Congratulations to everybody who has been thrown into these matches.
Our poll last week of course was kind of to honor Trent's coming back to NCW on the commentary by asking about our three person commentary booth, and it seems like for the most part you guys really like it, which is a good thing, since we had no intention on changing it! HA! But seriously, I'm glad the change has been received so well and I'm still honored to be the lead commentator now. I hope all you NCW fans continue to enjoy the hard work that goes into doing it every week.
This week's poll is going to honor our current Tag Team champions, they are alrady putting those titles on the line and might not be champions for long so I'm going to put this poll out there just in case they break apart and we don't get to see them anymore. What do you think is a good name for their tag team? That's right, you're going to name them.... you're going to feel what it's like to be in my shows naming tag teams!
REVIEW
:: TRAUMA ::
So Trauma... what do I say about a show like that? It was very solid. Nothing spectacular other than a live “Gun Show” but really who is tuning into Trauma just to see Venom running his mouth like he's somebody important? Nobody, that's who. Well except maybe Young Guns fans, but really do we care what those kind of people think? I didn't think so.
Anyway, we had three fine matches with the main event being a real gem. Emma and Crystal as a result of winning that match have found their way into a Women's title number on contender match, so congratulations to them, like I said, hard work pays off around here. It's still disgusting to see Homeless Harold running amuck around here and he just can't help himself, he had to go and ruin what should have been a fantastic opening bout. Somebody is going to put an end to this monster's reign, sooner or later, but I can guarantee it won't be soon enough.
:: COLLISION ::
A very good show in Collision we had... Why did I just Yoda that up? Anyway, the matches where great, despite another appearance of Spike Hexx and now the addition of Happy Kane. The matches were all very close and really showed just how much these wrestlers have put into this company as of late.
Ander Carvetti, DDK, and Paul Star probably stole the damn show with their match, all three men just took their game to another level but in the end it was Ander showing just how much heart that little guy has by pulling out a victory. He fought his butt off and despite the size disadvantage came away a winner, it was truly an amazing match and probably the highlight of the show.
We saw Maniac and Rob Diamond, the feuding brothers again just turn the heat up on this sibling rivalry with Maniac directly targeting Zelda now and not just using Desiree to do his bidding. This is just not going to end well, Rob barely had time to celebrate his win over Destructor! Before Maniac decided to ruin it by threatening Zelda.
Then of course how could I not mention the Main Event where FINALLY Joe Everyman picked up a huge win! I don't know about what it is with him teaming with Lex Sense but it's doing wonders for him as he's certainly picked up his game lately, even in losing efforts. I don't feel comfortable enough to start picking him to win matches again.... but he's doing well. Overall the shows were great this week and I really enjoyed them, a lot going on here and it's only getting better.
FAB FIVE
5. CRYSTAL HILTON :: It was definitely her biggest win in NCW thus far. Crystal has seen a lot of success in other wrestler federations but has yet to really transition that to NCW so far, but this was a huge step.
4. ROB DIAMOND :: Rob had a tough match against everybody's favorite superhero wannabe in Destructor! A match that turned kind of personal during the week as both men argued over Zelda, it was a strong showing for both, bu in the end it was Rob taking home the win and the girl.
3. ANDER CARVETTI :: Like I said above, it was a tremendous effort from the little guy, his 5'4” frame took a lot a punishment in this match but he just kept coming back for more and managed to run out of the arena with a victory.
2. TEMPESTAD :: It may have taken a slight helping hand from Andrew Jacobsen, but it was a huge victory for Tempestad... HUGE. Not many people can say they've faced Steve Awesome and walked away victorious but now he can.
1. JOE EVERYMAN :: Well Joe Everyman, I'm going to tell you... “Good Job” you better take this compliment and do something with it and not let everybody down again. You get a National title shot, don't choke!
PREVIEW
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 7-3 :: Another solid performance... not as good as my first two weeks where I really rocked the predictions with two 10 correct predictions but it's still pretty good and I'll take it.
OVERALL RECORD:: 27-7 :: Almost at 30 correct already and it's only been three weeks of action and I'm really digging that under 10 wrong picks. I'm getting really good at this!
Trauma
Singles Match
Chuck Moss vs Bushido /w El Dragon
:: Chuck Moss has been in a rut lately and can't seem to escape it, therefore I have to pick against him simply because I just don't know if he can work his way back out of this
Winner: Bushido
Singles Match
Trish Newborn vs Portia Roberts
:: Protia Roberts is young and hungry, but she lost last week and this week she has an even tougher match against Trish, tough draw for the new girl.
Winner: Trish Newborn
Winner is the #1 Contender for the X Championship Match
Rob Diamond vs Tempestad
:: Tempestad is coming off a win against Steve Awesome which is a huge boost for the ego but I don't know if it's enough to send him past Rob Diamond. I'm going to have to pick Rob here just because that guy has a way of winning these matches.
Winner: Rob Diamond
Collision
4 Way Dance for the #1 Contendership for the Honor Championship Match
Destructor vs Senor Xtremo vs Chris Gardner vs Todd Williams
:: This is a hard one here.... if the REAL Spike shows up, he's obviously the favorite, but Destructor! Is no push over and this Chris Gardner guy has been really impressive lately. I'm going to go out on a limb and call this an upset of the week...
Winner: Chris Gardner – UPSET OF THE WEEK
Winner is the #1 Contender for the Tag Team Championships Match
DDKnite vs "Spike" Kane and "Brad" Kane
:: Oh come on... Like I even have to tell you who i'm picking here? My husband and his friend or fat spike and a fat clown? Well that was easy.
Winner: Adam Knite and DDK
Winner is the #1 Contender for the Women's World Championship Match
Emma Danielson vs Crystal Hilton vs Roxxxie
:: Emma has been here before, she's proven that she can be the women's champion but she has some stiff competition here this week. Crystal and Roxxxie are both hungry for their chance at this title.
Winner: Crystal Hilton
Winner is the #1 Contender for the National Championship Match
Ricky Johnson vs Jack Manson vs Joe Everyman
:: God I really hate matches like this, I so want to pick Joe Everyman and say he follows up his impressive win with another one, but I just don't think I can.... oh hell.. I'll give you one more chance Joe Everyman! Don't you let me down this time!
Winner: Joe Everyman
Tag Team Championship Match
Shane Hunt and Paul Star* vs Ander Carvetti and Mystery
:: This is no fair, I don't even know who Ander's partner is going to be! Since I don't know, I just can't pick him to win because for all I know he could try and put Roxxxie into the match and she'd get curb stomped by Hunt if she did.
Winner: StarHunter
Six Man Mixed Tag
Andrew Jacobsen, Steve Awesome and Zelda Knite vs Maniac, Homeless Harold and Desiree Taylor
:: Damn... Jacobsen and Awesome teaming together against these monsters and Desiree?! This is a wicked match and it's going to be a tough one to call.... I just don't know if Awesome and Jacobsen can work together... and that's going to be a huge disadvantage even with Zelda on their side.
Winner: Maniac, Harold, Desiree
Main Event
Charlie Velez vs Venom
Special Referee: Falcon
:: I don't know how to call this one, and I don't know how Falcon is going to call the match. I do know Charlie is the world champion and he's beaten Venom here in NCW before. I'll just have to trust my instincts here and pick Velez to win this.
Winner: Charlie Velez
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: CHARLIE VELEZ vs. VENOM :: Well as I always say I tend not to put Main Events here because they are obvious choices, but this week I just can't help it. This is a match between best friends, between brothers in law I believe, and it's with Falcon as the referee! This is going to be very interesting... will Falcon's plot to tear the Young Guns apart work? We'll see, but I don't think so.
:: JOE EVERYMAN :: Is he going to choke away another golden opportunity or is this where he finally steps up and stakes his claim? He has a chance to becoming the first four time singles champion if he can make it past this match and Venom.... pressure Joe Everyman... pressure can you prevail?
:: DDKNITE vs. “KANE” BROTHERS :: Why you say? Because it's going to be fraking awesome to see DDK and Adam rip Hexx and fatter boy apart with their bare hands. Can you see it now like I can? It's going to be good! I'm going to love it.
:: ROB DIAMOND :: He's really seemed to have been changed for the better since he started dating Zelda, the kid has been busting his arse in that ring and has vowed to protect her outside of it. Could this be a change for the abrasive Rob Diamond? He's still got that mouth and huge ego, but he just seems to be more dedicated and this is a huge chance for him to win another title, which we know he loves to do.
KNITELINE
Jason Orange, Manchester, UK
Is it true that Johnny Holliday has quit NCW?
:: It certainly looks that way. Shame too, that guy had some real talent.
Conejo Esponjoso; The shed
Is Lord Dominicus really back? If he is, what do you think his plans are this time round? Oh, and do you think he needs an evil American Luchadore to help him out?
:: I'm sorry Conejo, it looks like Rob is just running the gimmick because he's been dating Zelda and trying to make her happy, I don't know if he'd want you around for that.
Shult Craigs; Ames, Iwoa
Ever since Trent Helms mentioned you have a sex tape, I've searched everywhere! I can't find it! And I know I'm not the only one, it's a trending topic on twitter, but no one can find it! Where is it? Who's releasing it? Will there be more? Any preview photos?
:: I can safely promise that there will never be a Kelly Knite sex tape released.... I'm too rich and pay off whoever had it if there was anyway. Sorry, not happening.
Danny Bonaduce; Broomall, PA
What would you say was the biggest upset this week? Also, why does nobody ever guess that the guest commentator is going to attack one of the people in the ring?
:: Had to be Tempestad beating Steve Awesome, even if it did take a helping hand from Jacobsen. I think people are pretty sure it's a given at this point... why point it out?
Trent Helms, (At Mayhem Production Studios)
Hey Kelly, can I have a raise? Or do I need to mass produce this little tape I have here, and have them rain down from the ceiling on Collision?
Just Kidding, I can imagined the horror you must of just felt, but wanted to ask, can we do something about Hardy? He's cramping my style and he smells of Cabbage and Gasoline
:: No horror.. because you don't have a tape and I can't do anything about Hardy, don't you think I would of done so long ago if I had a means to?
Mercedes Lewis, Virginia Beach, VA
Hey Kelly, How come nCw offer me a contract? Is it because my last name isn't Helms, I did everything I was asked, got surgury, reduced my breast size, and learned how to cut a promo, how come you hire Trent back, but not me? Can I atleast get a Dark Match tryout?
:: It might be because you weren't a very good wrestler and outside of that you offered nothing at all to the company... maybe you could try and come back as a commentator if Suspense ever makes a return? You and Jaymie Boone could work together as the all sluteriffice commentary team then.
Jose Cruz Michoacan, Mexico
AIHAIHAIHIA *gun fire*
Mi nombre is Jose Cruz.... but you already know that. I have seen the Internationals here in my home country of MEEEEXIIICOOOOO!!! *gun fire* I must say that they are chingon! How do you think they will do in nCw? *gun fire*
:: Well they are looking pretty good so far, won their first match, really gave Maniac and Homeless Harold a scare this past week, they could be big here in the tag team division soon.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Rumor is another NCW wrestler is returning this week and that it's going to be a huge surprise. We'll see on the show.
:: Is it just me or has Eric turned into a bit of a jackass since Trent has come back? I swear I'm going to smack that jerk.
:: Are we finally going to see this Andrew Jacobsen and Steve Awesome feud come to an end? It really seems like they are looking to finally kill the other.
:: So who loved the live “Gun Show”? I don't see any hands... oh well. Nice try Venom, maybe next time?
:: You know who should get their own talk show? Dr. Insano... I mean seriously that would be entertainment right there.
:: I'm contemplating on suggesting to my father that we change the name of the Crossroads PPV, what do you guys think?
:: Sometimes I really wonder what is going on inside Maniac's head.... it's like a bunch of randomness mixed with a ton of violence.
Anyway, that's all I've got this week, I hope you enjoyed and I'll be back here next week! Until next time!
