OPENING
Meta was awesome. End of story, nothing else to say about it except... HELL YEAH! Ok, I'm done celebrating the awesomeness of that show for now... until I get to the reviews shortly. Anyway, it's Tuesday so of course that means it's another exciting week of Knitelife column action! As always I'm here to help your through the week as you wait for more exciting NCW action.
We've got a lot of great action coming off of this show which featured several surprises so I'm actually really excited this week to call the show and bring you this Knitelife column. We saw some great returns with the always impressive Holliday returning along with the actual Brad Kane, not to mention all the great matches.
This past week's poll as usual going into a pay per view was over what match you wanted to see the most and with a very surprising result you fans picked Gardner versus Lex Sense. I'm not saying I thought the match was going to be bad, but I just figured with Steve versus Jacobsen and the world title match, I didn't think our Honor title match would win this but it sure did and I think it was a good choice. Not only was it some outside of the box thinking, but it also ended up being one one of he better matches of the night, like you voted for. Good job everybody who voted.
Now, we'll go with our usual post Pay per view poll this week, what did you think was the best part of this past show or what did you find the most exciting thing coming from it? Was it the apparent combo of Awesome and Diamond? Was it Charlie Velez retaining the world title? Was it Brad Kane's return? What did you think was just so awesome form this show that it can't go unnoticed? Let me know.
REVIEW
Now we actually get to the review of the show... and wow, was it ever an NCW pay per view. Everything from the opening bell where The Rat Pack defeated Ricky Johnson and Portia roberts to the very ending when Charlie Velez stood victorious in the ring was nothing but nonstop action oh wow.
Firstly the returns of Brad Kane and Johnny Holliday were pleasant surprises if you don't count the fact that Holliday just completely ignores the head commentator to pat our side show spaceman color commentator on the back, but whatever. It's good to see a former World champion and possible future Hall of Famer like Brad Kane back, I really hope he manages to stick around this time, for all that is holy in this world I hope he sticks. Not technically a return, but a debut of sorts... man was I surprised when Simon Daye came out and attacked Joe Everyman, I can honestly say not a damn single person saw that coming. I guess it's nice to see him stick his neck out there and step into the ring like he's always wanted to do, but it's terrible that apparently Jaymie Boone has been hired back on Trauma... gag.
The Women really shined on this show I thought. Portia and Roxxxie really fought hard in that opening Mixed tag team match, even though nothing was on the line they put on some quality wrestling for the fans. Zelda taking on Desiree was a match full of emotions, the hate Desiree felt for Zelda, the determination of Zelda to win, just everything was so intense the entire way, but it was bull crap how Maniac came in that ring and put his hands on Zelda, choking her until she blacked out.... disgusting act especially since Zelda had clearly hurt that throat during the match. Then of course our Women's championship match... this Trish Newborn is a good one, she and Zelda have really made this Women's division something respectable as two women who won't lay down or quit during any match. Crystal put up a great effort and it was very close but in the end it was Newborn who took home the prize.
All of our title matches were fantastic really, and it since every single person or team had to win number one contenders matches to even get on the show, made it just that much better. Everybody earned their spots and fought their asses off. Adam Knite becomes the first five time champion in NCW winning the tag titles with DDK his 5th differen't partner. Rob Diamond took on not only Homeless Harold but had to fight his brother who had to interfere and who had chocked Rob's girlfriend earlier in the night, him beating Harold was huge, and it was great to see Gib and Steve Awesome coming out and having Rob's back.
As I mentioned earlier Gardner and Lex Sense was very anticipated by the fans, and it didn't disappoint at all as Garnder walks away with an NCW title belt in only his fourth match, he's quickly climbing the ranks here but I don't think Lex is done with him yet. Venom and Manson fought so hard to win their match that we couldn't even declare a winner as they pinned each other at the same time! Now that was a match we'll have to see again. I think we can all agree on that.
Then of course we had the first ever “Who's Your Daddy?” match in this NCW's history. It was an outstanding one and those two men fought each other like they were trying to literally kill each other. Say what you want about Steve Awesome, I know I do, and I know I will plenty more, but that man goes into every match like it's his last, and Andrew found that out. However, the Young Jacobsen turned a lot of heads with his performance, he's still young and rising, he'll have his day as the king of this company before his career is over.
Finally, I have to mention our main event... Falcon and Velez... you could feel the hate, you could taste the tension. This match was about more than the RiOT, this match was about more than Falcon decking Charlie's friend and stablemate, Zelda. This match was about that world title, this match was about being the best this company has to offer, a title Falcon wants more than life and a title Velez wants to hold onto more than life. Those two were clearly the class of this pay per view as they took this thing to the brink with a back and forth contest, it was a shame both men couldn't win.
THE FAB FIVE
5. ZELDA KNITE :: Gutsy performance, Maniac staring over her shoulder the whole time to get under Rob's skin and the lunatic Desiree doing her best to break her in half. Desiree looked to have the match in the bag, but Zelda comes out of nowhere to steal the victory away, as she's done so many times before.
4. CHRIS GARDNER :: What more can I say about Gardner? With the likes of himself, Andrew Jacobsen, Lex Sense, Hugo Conway, and Chuck Moss... NCW has a bright future ahead of it with this great fresh faced/young talent pool.
3. STEVE AWESOME :: I hate to do this, but man was that a great performance from Steve. Andrew Jacobsen was coming into this match with so much fire and passion, he wanted to Steve suffer so bad... he got that wish but in the end it was still Steve walking away with a victory.
2. ROB DIAMOND :: He took on the monster, the man who has ended careers before, the man who was working with his brother Maniac to put an end to both Rob and his girlfriend Zelda, and he won. This match had everything and Rob Diamond beaten and bloodied found a way to survive and walk out with our X Championship.
1. CHARLIE VELEZ :: Falcon had a ton of momentum after winning the RiOT match, this match was basically a match where he had everything to lose and not much to gain, yet he went out there and took the speeding train of Falcon's right to the chest, then found a way to win. Great performance and it's always nice to see a woman beater lose in life, so that helped Charlie's case some.
PREVIEW
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 7-2 :: I'd like to point out that I picked Joe Everyman to win again, and he lost... AGAIN. This time though, I can't blame him for what happened... it was BS that Ashlie cost him this match, So Joe.. I've got your back this week. You should of won!
OVERALL RECORD:: 41-11 :: Do you see that? I'm already 30 up in the win column. I'm patting myself on the back and I'm taking myself out for lobster tonight... with Adam... maybe.

WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: SIMON DAYE :: He makes the transition from commentator to the wrestling ring, as a person who does this on a regular basis, I know how hard it can be to overcome that stigma of just being a commentator. I wish him luck.
:: BRAD KANE :: He was fired not too long ago because of some rumored backstage altercations and my father just getting sick of all the diva acts he puts on, however he's back, he's dedicated and he looks ready to start out on the right foot this time, lets hope he can.
:: 6 MAN TAG :: It's the tag team champions along with Rob Diamond taking on the former tag team champions with Maniac. It's going to be a very interesting match if Rob and Maniac get into the ring together and it's going to be awesome seeing Knitely Bangs square take on some top level talent like the Rat Pack this week.
:: VELEZ and FALCON vs. JACK MANSON and ALEX JONES :: Fresh off fighting each other we get to see Velez and Falcon taking on Manson and Alex Jones. Jones has made it clear that he thinks he's the rightful number one contender now and Manson has been at odds with Charlie's best friend Venom as of late. Going to be very interesting.
:: TRENT HELMS & TRENT HELMS vs. STEVE AWESOME :: These two go hand in hand, what a match and what a way to return to an NCW ring! (outside of the RiOT of course). There isn't anything else I can say about this that you're not already thinking so I'll just simply say. “wow”.
THE KNITELINE
Jay Bee, Louisville, Kentucky
With the return of Johnny Holliday, do you think him and Ander Carvetti will be able to work together this week? Or do you think the two will self-destruct before it even hits the ring?
:: I have no idea. I can never tell what in the hell those two are thinking half the time. I guess they are good friends, so I'd be more inclined to side with the idea they'll work together as a team.
Ok NCW fans, do I have a treat for you this week I have a special treat for the Kniteline as I called up a man I've known for a few years now, who I've straight up butted hands with on several occasions because of him and Adam's rivalry, aslo the man who has come out and claimed himself the "true" world champion of NCW. Alex Jones. I guess since my first interview was Andrew Jacobsen, I had to keep an AJ streak going by getting the original.
Alright, first I just want to say thank you Alex for agreeing to do this, and secondly lets just get right to it shall we... The "Real" World NCW Champion? Why bring back that claim now?
AJ: Thanks for having me...since you wanted to get right into it....It's obvious isn't it?. Charlie's last loss before he became the world champion was to me. And it wasn't months before or a couple of months it was earlier that month. I'm better than Charlie Velez and untill he gets in that ring and proves otherwise he's nothing but a paper champion
I remember, that was a very hard fougt match and it thought it was a great win for you.... so "paper champion" do you only say that because of your defeating him in that Death Cage match, or is there perhaps something more? You know like, him getting Zelda's title shot, and then getting a rematch after losing that, even more so all of this happened AFTER he lost the Road to the Gold tournament?
AJ: All those contribute. All of it. He's a fake, he's a fraud and he's underserving of that belt. Adam deserved it, Angel deserved it, Spike Kane deserved it. Charlie Velez deserves nothing except a beating. And that's what I intend to give him, for all of NCW's fans, for all of the guys Charlie has stepped on, even you....Charlie Velez will get what's coming to him....
You know despite our being at ends with each other on several occasions, because of my associating with Adam, there is one thing I've always liked about you Alex and that's your blunt nature. No holding back on Charlie huh? Do you think you can beat Charlie one on one, in a standard one falls match? You know there are some that say that's the only reason you won that Death Cage match, was because you had recent experience in one. Is all that just everybody underestimating what you can do?
AJ: You match up who Carlie is and you put us in the ring one on one, you take away the death cage, you take away Venom and Zelda, you have two men. One man has had to step on people and cheat and rely on others, the other has worked and worked and worked for everything he's had. You put me and Charlie in the ring, in a fair one on one competition. Charlie is going to be taken out in an ambulance and I'm going to be holding twelve pounds of gold...
That's very interesting, I'm sure it'd be a great match and I hope you get your shot you're wanting but now I have to ask you about the person who would have been your target if he had won at Meta... Falcon. You and Angel are good friends now, Falcon and Angel have been best friends for years. What do you think of Falcon right now after what he's done? Punching Zelda twice, black mailing Angel to get what he wants.... what are your thoughts if he would of won that match instead of Charlie?
AJ: Honestly. First time he smacked Zelda..she had it coming. I may get booed but that girl needed to be slapped upside the head. Second time...excessive. Blackmail to get what you want because you can't be man enough to accept your punishment?...Here's a guy who could have been a great champion..now he's just a guy who failed to get the job done....
I agree.. he's going down a slippery path, even though I'll never condone him actually punching Zelda in the face but that's my point of view as a woman so there... but anyway... speaking of Angel... We all know you came back to NCW after being gone several months and when you did come back, you immediately picked up where you left off against you old rival, and it was announced Shelley (Angel's then wife) was pregnant with your child. Are things ever weird with you and Angel now that you are friends because of it? Secondly, what do you think of Angel being named the General Manager of NCW? Were you shocked by that news, or did you know all along what he had planned? Have you thought about going to him, talking the Falcon route, and requesting a shot that way or are you above that sort of thing?
AJ: Well Angel and I have always had a love hate relationship. But we're in a place now where we're friends, we decided that our kids lives and happiness was important..Shelly is my stepdaughter and Angel is involved in my sons life...so it worked out, but as for our friendship...well maybe I use it to my advantage but the match between myself and Charlie isn't set in stone and I'm not going to abuse my friendship to get it, instead I'm going to give Charlie no choice but to accept the match. Let's face it, if he had any balls...he's just sign the contract.....
I like that, just going to take what you want, force his hand. Alright Alex, I won't waste much more of your time, now it's time for some short general questions about yourself for some interesting side notes. You can just answer in short quick bursts.
What wrestler on the roster right now would you like to face in the ring for the first time, or just again?
AJ: Charlie Velez..........you needed to ask that?
Well It's just a technicality for the next question really; What wrestler who currently isn't on the roster would you love to see either comeback or join NCW so you could face off with them?
AJ: Ace....I hate that guy......
Who on this roster do you think is going to be a break out star very soon?
AJ: Chris Gardner....that guy is phenominal.....
On a scale from 1-10 how would you rank your career so far in NCW? What (besides beating Charlie) one thing would you like to do before your time here is done?
AJ: So far?....probably a 6...I have wasted alot of potential and opportunities...and obviously I want to be champion but aside from that....I want to face Angel..one last time.....for the world title....
On a scale from 1-10 how would you rank NCW in general since you've been here?
AJ: 10 I love it here...it's been a blast....
Now I'm going to give you what I'm calling NCW's version of “Ginger or Mary Ann”.... If you had to choose one.. just ONE, who would it be. Kelly or Zelda? Don't worry I won't be mad, no matter who you pick. I'm going to be asking females “Steve Awesome or Joe Everyman” Just in case you were wondering.
AJ: Jeez......Kelly cause Kelly hasn't been touched by Rob "I have an itchy crotch" Diamond
Alright, Thanks for the time AJ. It's been a pleasure. Anything you want to say in closing? Anything on your mind or you just want to put out there?
AJ: Charlie Velez...you have limited time as champion. Go live the lifestyle, sign the autographs..do the late night shows...because soon....I will take it all.....
Thanks again, and good luck AJ.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Did you see Desiree's attack on that neck of Zelda's? She had to take the week off because of it, in fact she couldn't even talk after the show... you know what that means? Somebody finally shut Zelda up, and they still lost.
:: If there is one thing you can never say about Alex Jones, and it's that he's lacking in confidence. Declaring yourself as a true world champion, that's ballsy.
:: I'm good friends with Falcon, but I can honestly say I was glad to see him lose that match after what he's been doing recently. I can't forgive him for punching Zelda, but black mailing your best friend, might just be worse.
:: Man am I excited about seeing Trent Helms in the ring again! Trent's been a good friend for a long time, but he might be a bit too rusty to beat Steve Awesome.
:: God I hate Ashlie Ember! Not only because she used to date Adam, and not only because she caused Joe Everyman to lose and screwed up my votes, but because she's so damn annoying!
:: My personal favorite match from Meta? Steve Awesome versus Andrew Jacobsen, won't see that kind of passion between two men outside of a watching Brokeback Mountain on Netflix. But that's really a different kind of Joe Everyman passion.
Well fans that's all I've got for this week, I hope you enjoyed it and liked our special guest, thanks one last tim Alex and I'll be here next week. Until next time
