OPENING
Wow. I don’t know where to begin, I guess the “big” news is that we have a new World champion in the only title change of the night, but I’m thinking the “bigger” news is probably of “The Mystery Woman” finally revealing herself and it turns out to be Zelda, stabbing Charlie and the Young Guns in the back, while seemingly.... reconciling with Falcon? I don’t know... I honestly have no idea what is going on, and it’s quite possible only one person knows and she isn’t saying a word about it.
There is a lot to go over really so I guess we should just jump right in and get to it huh? Last week’s poll was over what match you were most looking forward to seeing, or the match you were most excited about, and you guys really picked it, because I think you picked the most exciting match of the night for sure. That six person match was amazing the second the bell rang. That's what happens when a ton of emotions and feelings all meet inside the ring at one time.
This week we're just going to see what you thought the biggest surprise from the show this past week was. There were a few really big moments... One that kind of stands out.... but we'll see where your votes go.
RECAP AND REVIEW
Crossroads was an excellent show, if you missed it, you should make sure to order the replay sometime this week as it was truly a great experience, with some really good twists. We finally saw the Homeless Harold mask revealed and found out that it has apparently been passed down from father to son, we saw Zelda Knite reveal herself as the Mysterious hooded woman who had taken over Velez Industries, and we saw Steve Awesome leave Mandi Matthews on the side of the street so to speak.
The show hit the ground running so to speak, before we got into the title matches and the big rivalry matches we got the crowd working with Reborta Verona and Todd Williams picking up huge wins. Verona.... is showing a ton of potential and could be a break out star here soon and Todd Williams picks up his second big time victory in a row, first it was Spyke and now It’s Paul Star who have met this Todd Williams buzz saw.
I think this show is one that goes to show you, just when you think you’ve got people pegged, they can come and surprise you at any moment. Simon Daye shaking Joe Everyman’s hand after their match in a show of respect after it took three “Daye Breaks” to keep him down, then Roxxxie getting all conniving and managed to retain her Women’s World championship by the way of low blow, Johnny Holliday stepping in front of a bullet so to speak for his friend Ander Carvetti after the two had seemed to be at each other’s throats in recent weeks... we see Xander “Homeless Harold” Famularo saving his half-sister from being set on fire, an act that wont’ set well with Maniac, that’s for sure, and finally of course... the whole Z thing. Just goes to show you, that you never know in this business, there can always be a twist.
It was good to see Venom and Jack Manson battling it out again, taking each other to the limit with Venom stepping up and coming out victorious. The huge six way tag match was so intense from beginning to end that literally every person in the arena was on the edge of their seats as it was unfolding, the action never stopped in that match and was a fantastic watch. Then finally we ended the night with our main event Ladder Match. Those three men nearly tore each other apart, they fought for that belt, like it was their lives on the line. All three men deserved to win, but in the end it was Alex Jones climbing the ladder with an unopposed show at grabbing the belt.... then everything went all crazy. Velez looked so happy to see who he cleary thought was Annette coming down to give him the win.... and the rest is history.
The show ended on a crazy note, with Falcon being the world champion without having scaled the ladder and grabbing the belt, but overall the show was very good in my eyes. Not the best pay per view I’ve ever seen, but if this show is any indication on how good we’re going to get over the next year, then there is a lot to look forward to.
HIGH POINTS
:: Homeless Harold's identity finally revealed as Gib's son, Xander Famularo. I guess looking back there were a lot of signs pointing towards this, but you know what they say about hindsight.
:: Simon Daye and Joe Everyman's show of respect. After all the name calling and finger pointing, it was good to see that in after a hard fought match like this they learned to at least tolerate each other.
:: Zelda Knite revealed as the mystery woman. She turned her back on the Young Guns and drops the bomb that she had been manipulating this entire plan....
:: Alex Jone’s “riding the ladder” move. An amazing sight to see, I don’t know how he pulled off that ninja act, but he did it.
LOW POINTS
:: Brad Kane and Chris Gardner's brawl. I really wanted to see these two men fight in this Honor match, but it became nothing but a pure fight.
:: Johnny Holliday saving Carvetti from the BANG!. Really? You two spend weeks bitch fitting at each other, and it's just so you can play action hero save with him on the show? Weird.
:: Roxxxie retains the title by intentionally getting disqualified. That's certainly one way to make sure you walk out of a pay per view with your title.
:: Pyro-Maniac. It’s always disgusting seeing a human being trying to light another human on fire.
THE FAB FIVE
5:: VENOM :: He took on a tough competitor in Jack Manson, but in the end he remained the National Champion, very good job this week.
4:: TODD WILLIAMS :: Coming off a victory over Spyke and then has to face Paul Star with the X Championship title shot on the line wasn't an easy task, but he picked up crucial back to back victories.
3:: DDK :: Sometimes winning and losing a match comes down to who is willing to take that extra step to get the job done. Everybody knows Kanyon likes to use dirty tactics, should of been more prepared.
2:: FALCON :: He's the new world champion... any other time I'd have him ranked number one, but he won the belt with a huge assist.
1:: ROB DIAMOND :: Pinned his brother, finally, after such a brutal and bloody family feud, and got the win for his team in that huge 6 person tag match.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK’S RECORD:: 11-1 :: Only got one wrong last week! That’s what we in the business like to call... Stepping the hell up for the pay per view!
OVERALL RECORD:: 74-24 :: Would you look at that... two pics away from the first hundred and I’m sitting right at a 3:1 ratio with corrects over incorrect picks. Now that’s what we in the business like to call... Amazing!
:: TRAUMA ::
Triple Threat Match
DDK vs. Lex Sense v. Mark Evil
:: Oh great...Mark Evil is back... who forgot to change the locks? Well should be a good match as soon as he's knocked out.
Winner: Lex Sense
SINGLES MATCH
Jack Manson vs. Roberto Verona
:: Jack Manson is coming off a big loss to Venom, losing out on the National title, and Verona is coming off a big win, it'd be a huge victory for Verona if he can pull it off.
Winner: Roberto Verona
SINGLES MATCH
Demetrious Young vs. Todd Williams
:: Demetrious Young has looked good in his limited action so far, but he hasn't looked as on fire as Todd Williams has the best two weeks.
Winner: I'm Todd Williams
MAIN EVENT
COLISEUM QUALIFIER #1
Paul Star vs. Andrew Jacobsen
:: The first of our qualifiers for the Coliseum and it's going to be a good one, the rubber match of sorts since these two battled over the X-Division title last year. Great chance for both men.
Winner: Paul Star
:: COLLISION ::
SINGLES MATCH
Trish Newborn vs. Stephanie Sullivan
:: This is a tough one, Sullivan gets her rematch from a couple of months ago where she lost to Newborn in the Women's world title match, she is definitely going to be looking for revenge.
Winner: Stephanie Sullivan
TAG TEAM MATCH
Spyke and Spike Kane vs. Charlie Velez and Venom
:: As much as I would say Spyke has the advantage and will win this match... I don't think he's good enough to win with Hexx as his partner. Especially against a great tag team like the Young Guns.
Winners: The Young Guns
SINGLES MATCH
Steve Awesome vs. Bukkake Man
:: Seriously. Like I'm going to vote for Bukkake Man here. Also, I swear to God, if Bukkake Man really turns out to be Trent Helms under a mask... pulling this stunt for the 45th time, I'm going to kick him right in the testicles.
Winner: Steve Awesome
TAG TEAM MATCH
Roxxxie and Zelda vs. Crystal Hilton and Ashlie Ember
:: I've said it ever since I made the mistake of predicting her to lose a couple times, I'm never again going to vote against Zelda unless given a huge reason to. Doesn't hurt she has the Champ on her team either and I effin hate Ashlie.
Winner: Roxxxie and Zelda
HONOR TITLE MATCH
Simon Daye vs. Chris Gardner*
:: Simon Daye got Gardner last time, but Gardner is one of those types who learns more in loses than they do wins. He'll get his revenge on Daye.
Winner: Chris Gardner
TAG TEAM MATCH
Falcon and Alex Jones vs. Brad Kane and Rob Diamond
:: I don't know what to think of this... has Zelda turned on Rob too? If so.... things are going to really pick up if she is indeed with Falcon again... costing Alex the title, Rob Diamond on the opposite side of the ring... I wouldn't want to be Kyle if true.
Winner: Brad Kane and Rob Diamond
MAIN EVENT
COLISEUM QUALIFIER #2
Xander Famularo vs. Joe Everyman
:: I'm going to pick Joe Everyman to win this match. Why? Because I want Xander to win and every time I say I believe in Joe Everyman, he loses. I believe Joe is going to take the next step and win this match and go to the Coliseum.
Winner: Joe Everyman
WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
::FALCON & JONES vs. KANE & DIAMOND:: I sort of mentioned this above, but it's mainly due to where Zelda alliances stand. If she helped Kyle win the title because they are a couple again or something like that, it's going to hit the fan in this match and poor Brad Kane will be caught in the middle of it. Even if it isn't... it's Rob Diamond facing the man who punched his girlfriend in the face, and it's Falcon teaming with the man who was screwed out of the championship. Volatile situation if there's ever been one.
::XANDER FAMULARO:: It's finally been revealed that it was Gib's son who was behind the Harold mask afterall. This is going to be his first mask since taking off the mask, should be interesting to not only see how he does without the crutch, but possibly seeing his explanation to why he was doing it should be interesting.
::PAUL STAR vs. ANDREW JACOBSEN:: Again... it's sorta like what I said above. These two had two great matches where they swapped the X-Division title from each other. This is going to be for a lot more than just the old X-Division title though, it's going to be for a chance at greatness, a chance to win the Coliseum... they're not going to hold anything back here.
::CHARLIE VELEZ:: Falcon vowed to rip Charlie's world apart, and it appears that he succeeded. Charlie is no longer the world champion, he's no longer the head of his own company, and Falcon's goal of breaking Charlie's Young Guns apart was at least somewhat successful as Zelda was the catalyst behind it all. What kind of mindset is Charlie going to be in? How will can he enter a wrestling ring and focus... I don't know... but he's going to try.
KNITELINE
Jimmy; Portland
What was your thoughts of Demetrious Young's Debut?
:: Kid is going to be very good if he keeps this up. He's showed a lot in the short while he's been here. Tough loss last week, but his potential is totally there.
Patricia Newborne; Lexington, North Carolina
Hey Kel, how you doing? You know I watched the pay-per-view back, and I heard a nosy little bitch make a wild statement about my loss. Care to elaborate? And tell your girlfriend to watch her back wherever she's goes, because I can strike anywhere, at anytime. Gib can fine me all he wants... but I will get my title back, and have her bleeding after I'm done... Because I'm the best of the best, there is NO ONE better than Trish!! ...No one.
:: Are you sure you want to be a smart ass with me? Remember who was the first and only person to beat Zelda in a singles match (remember when she spanked you?), ok sweetheart?
Patrick, Columbus, Ohio
Was it really necessary for Roberto Verona to behave like that by refusing to pin Scotty Havok? Have we learnt anything from the three guys debuts?
:: I think we learned we have two very talented new comers on the roster. One is a bit too cocky for his own good it seems though.
Tyler Sullivan , Detroit Michigan
Mommy good! Does mommi hav good fewture!!!
:: uhhhh... maybe? I guess so.
Carlos Irwin Estevez
Jeff Hardy's home
Hey there Kelly, I've got a question for ya about this Crossroads pay per view you guys just held. I was kind of shocked at the aftermath of the Joe and Maria versus Simon and Ashlie match. Do you think those two are honestly over their differences, or do you think Simon is pulling type of cheeky shenanigans?
:: I don't think they are over any differences... but I do think Everyman earned a bit of respect from Simon in the way he refused to give in, in the way he demanded Simon one on one. So I think they can tolerate each other.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: I still can't get over that hand shake between Simon and Joe Everyman.. great show of sportsmanship if it holds true.
:: I wonder if anybody is going to be able to stop DDK and Adam. They find ways to win matches, end of story. Whine to somebody else if you're wanting to harp on DDK's kick to the vag on Ander.
:: I still want to see a real Brad Kane versus Chris Gardner match.
:: I can't believe Steve just left Mandi there. Sure she screwed up, but she cares about him. This is why you're alone Steve.
:: Oh man I'm looking forward to the Coliseum this year. Already we're having some tough choices as we took to qualifiers and I wish all four men this week could be in it... well except for Everyman.
:: You want to know how good of a wrestler Venom really is, those who've doubted him after he won so many titles so fast.... He's the only person Zelda apologized to by name for her actions. Says a lot.
:: And speaking of that.... You know what... I don't know what to say about it... the girl who I once saw putting M&M's on a microwavable pizza while whistling the power ranger's theme is now the head of a Multi Million dollar company?
Alright fans, that's all I've got this week. I hope you love the show as always, until next time...
