OPENING
I welcome all you fine NCW fans back again for another exciting, tremendous, edition to the Knitelife this week. We had a great week of NCW wrestling this past week and I hope you didn’t miss any of it, from the final two Coliseum qualifiers to the big tag team matches that we had on Collision plus the always good Trauma, this was on exciting week of action.
Gotta love how Trish Newborn thought she’d come up in here and steal my shtick of commentating a match that she’s booked in, too bad for her that really got under Roxxxie’s skin, it sure was awesome watching her get beat by Zelda... AGAIN! Hey Trish, remember how you always whined about me and what I’ve said about you... well here is some more material for you... you’re not half the wrestler Zelda is, let alone I am, stick to wrestling in your faux “queen” style and deal with it, ok?
Well last week's poll was a fun one, just thrown out there for a quick giggle which is exactly what I did when I saw the hamster had actually won it, but this week we're going to switch it back up to being serious for a minute and we're going to see where your interesting level in the Coliseum match is this week. Should be cool to see where you stand on this years participants, now lets move on shall we?
RECAP AND REVIEW
We had two very good shows this week that showcased a lot of NCW talent all over the board. Trauma as always kicked off the week and it certainly didn't disappoint anybody, I can promise you that, not with a main event that featured DDK, Mark Evil and Everysense. In the end though, it was my man Adam stealing the show but ripping a win out of Joe Everyman's hands witch if you've watched NCW programming over the past four years, you know is a good thing.
Trauma taken as an overall show thought was very good all around. Mercedes Vargas and Foxy Roxy had a fine match to kick off the week, two women who in a very short time have shown that they can compete for the Women's title here. They had the best match of Saturday night which only just makes me believe they'll only get better from here. In my other life as a wrestler me and Mercedes are tag team champions, so I actually know she's good, Foxy Roxy is a bit of a surprise but I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work.
Now Collision... what can I say? The night kicks off between two of NCW's freshest stars who delivered a great back and forth match that could of went either way, but in the end, it saw the Honor champion walk out the winner. EMF continues their winning ways by pinning Trish Newborn after she tried to have some fun at her partner's expense. Then of course we had our Coliseum qualifying matches.
So Rob Diamond is going to face Falcon at Sovereign and it would appear that Zelda's plans are all falling into place. While Alex Jones gets a nice consolation prize by being put into the Coliseum, while in the biggest twist of the night, My commentating partner and Simon Daye screw Trent Helms out of his chance to join Jones in the structure. I don't know what those two are thinking but Trent Helms deserves better and it's a damn shame they handed a victory to Awesome like that, a damn shame.
I thought all the matches this week were well done, a few issues but nothing majore, and I really enjoyed the effort everybody put in, except I'm very disappointed in Spyke and Brad Kane, I'd expect a team of former World champions to carry themselves as champions instead of as petty jerks.
Overall, everything was very solid and I have to give it a B-, there was some exciting action and some nice storys coming together, so I think it's a fair grade.
HIGH POINTS
:: Rob Diamond finally gets his chance – Rob Diamond has been crying for a chance to win the world title for a long time now, it's good to see him finally get there.... it's amazing how when he stopped the crying and whining how he was able to focus in and work his way to the top, amazing how that work I say. Don't point out Zelda's little ploy, Rob was likely well on his way to being in this position before she stuck her nose into it.
:: Venom's handshake – It was good seeing Venom extend his hand to Jacobsen after the two nearly broke each other in half during their National title match. I've always said it, but it's worth repeating... Venom is a pretty classy guy outside of the face he puts on for the Young Guns... again like I said... there is a reason Zelda apologized to him, he's a jerk... but he's a good guy, he's like a walking paradox.
LOW POINTS
:: Andrew Jacobsen - A week after taking down arguably one of the biggest names in NCW history in Adam Knite, he comes out and falls short of winning the National title. I don't know if the pressure got to him.... maybe he just choked, or if Venom just had the better night, but everybody was pulling for this kid after last week and he let us all down.
:: Lex Sense – Seriously? What do you hope to accomplish by getting on my nerves? Pissing Adam off so he rips your arm out of socket? You've been hanging around Joe Everyman for too long if you think you want to piss Adam Knite off.
THE FAB FIVE
5. EMF :: I'm giving them the five spot two weeks in a row, I know Newborn was being all douchy and stuff, but in the end they still picked up a victory over the two women who are the last two Womens Champions, so it's worth something.
4. VENOM :: Well, he challenged Jacobsen and he got him, then he got what he wanted by bringing Andrew down. Jacobsen fought hard, we could all see that, and he seemed to earn a bit of Venom's respect with his effort. With that said, it was still Venom holding onto the National title belt.
3. STEVE AWESOME :: Well I'm going to give it to Steve despite having help from Simon Daye, he was still giving Trent everything he had and gave us easily the match of the week with his effort, it's a shame he got some help but it's not like Steve couldn't of done it himself, but I guess we'll never know.
2. SCORPION :: He took on a former National and 2x X-Division champion in only his second match in NCW... and he won! That's impressive any way you shake it. Very good win for the new guy here, lets hope he keeps it up.
1. ROB DIAMOND :: I said it above... he finally earned that shot at the world that he has oh so desperately been chasing. He's been living in his brother's shadow for way too long, this is his chance to show the world what he's made of, he took the first step this week.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 9-4 :: Not a terrible week, but I can and certainly have done better before. Still thought out of 14 matches I usually want to get about 10 of them right, so I guess it's sorta right there.
OVERALL RECORD:: 96-37 :: Hey only four correct picks away from hitting 100 correct predictions by April! I'm getting good at this I tell you.

WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
:: COLLISION MAIN EVENT :: Like I always say, I don't usually put the Main Events here, simply because that's why they're Main Events, them being labeled that is already a “what to keep an eye on” but this week is different, it's all six Coliseum participants in a tag team match, should be fantastic to see.
:: CHRIS GARDNER :: He's going to be wrestling Andrew Jacobsen, who is a tough but clean/honorable wrestler in his own right, Jacobsen with a win could be staking a claim at Honor gold, and he's coming off a tough loss to Venom. To make matters worse, Gardner will have to try and overcome Brad Kane refereeing the match, which... should be interesting right there.
:: ZELDA & SENSE vs. FALCON & DESIREE :: Well this should be pretty self explanatory but I'll go ahead and give you the low down regardless, Falcon and Zelda's first time in the ring since their much publized break up, Falcon and Zelda in the ring as opponents for the first time since she handed him the world title. Zelda teaming with Lex Sense who was about to throw her through a wall just a couple of weeks ago only to be saved by her brother, and Zelda once again squaring off against Desiree who tried to rid NCW of Zelda just a few weeks ago. A lot of hate for Zelda in this ring.... maybe they all three just take turns trashing her?
:: FREAKKE :: He's had a rough couple of weeks in his return to NCW but he hasn't really disappointed with some tough matches against some tough competition, this week however he gets a former World Champion and if he isn't done knocking that rust off, things could get ugly. Should tune in and see him, could be a great match, he always brings everything he's got.
KNITELINE
Craig Williams; Denver, Colorado
Hey Kelly, what do you think about this match with Falcon and Zelda in the same ring? You think he gets his team DQed by punching her again?
:: Nah, Falcon isn't like that, he's a good guy... he's made some mistakes over the course of this whole ordeal, but could you really blame him, Z ripped out his heart and stomped on it... then she buried it when she revealed she had done all she did just for Rob. Dude is in pain.
Todd Schultz; Newark, New Jersey
Hey Kelly, are those Women Tag Titles for real?
:: They're not official if that's what you're asking. Right now they are just belts EMF showed up with and are claiming are actual titles. We'll see how far they go with them.
Ricky Simpson; Tallahassee, Iowa
Kelly are you starting to get worried that Lex Sense might be coming after you, maybe you have a stalker on your hands? He's the biggest guy on the roster right and you're pretty small, what if he's coming for you?
:: To steal a line from Todd Williams... I'M KELLY KNITE! Like I care what he has in store for me? I don't back down from anybody, he can send me a severed horse head to my bed... I won't be intimidated.
Homer Ricardo; Saskatoon, Florida
Who of the Coliseum entrants do you think had the hardest job getting into the match and do you think this might help them in this?
:: Well, I would say Steve had the toughest opponent to go through, but he sorta got bailed out by Simon Daye, so I'm going to say surprisingly... Mark Evil... he's the only person who had to go trough 2 people in his match to make it in. I don't know if it will help him, but it certainly gave him a huge confidence boost that we've been seeing transition to his matches lately.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: Speaking of Mark Evil though, this man has been on a roll with the fans since his return and subsequent Coliseum Qualifying, he's getting a good reaction from the crowd and merchandise sales are through the roof, as far as Mark Evil levels go.
:: Lex Sense is a tard. Thanks for the flowers though, I guess.
:: What in the hell is up with Simon Daye... it's like he has to compulsively attack people or something.
:: Brad Kane and Chris Gardner both reffing each other's matches, I believe this only the second time something like this has happened in NCW, should be very interesting.
:: You know what else should be interesting? Seeing Todd Williams taking on Rob Diamond, Todd and Rob are probably the two hottest wrestlers in NCW right now, going to be an amazing match.
:: You know what isn't interesting? The Young Guns. They are quickly becoming stale and totally lame. If not for Venom's natural charisma, they'd be nothing right now. Like it or not, Zelda and Charlie were pretty polarizing figures, them gone is hurting them big time.
:: You know what is even more uninteresting than that? The Rat Pack... why are they even around? Talk about pointless. Roxxxie, Jacobsen, and Carvetti... I didn't think a group that included a hooker could be that bland, but they did it.
Well fans, that's all I have for you this week, I hope you enjoyed it... until next time....
