{ It was early Tuesday evening when Gib sat down, Bud Select in one hand and a raw carrot in the other, gotta take care of that heart ya know. He decided to do a little catching up on pay per view promos, it was the week of Sovereign after all and you just knew there would be a ton of people talking trash. He pulled up Trent's first promo of the week and chuckled. }
"Heh, love me some Trent Helms."
{ He sat through it, enjoyed it and then moved on down the list, stopping on Rob Diamond's first installment of the week. He sat up a little, half expecting a flurry of gay jokes about Falcon. }
"I hope he lays it to bird bitch hard this week, I f**king hate that bird... Punch my kid..."
{ Gib sits up a little when he sees Zelda on the screen, his baby girl. He smiles, takes a bite of his carrot and... }
"I'm late."
"WHA-*GAG*!!!!!!"

"I'm late."
"WHA-*GAG*!!!!!!"
{ The bite of carrot becomes wedged in his throat as the remote control and beer bottle shatter in his respective hands. The pieces fall to the ground as he rises up and forces the chunk of carrot the rest of the way down. He looks dead at the camera, his face red with rage. }
"I'm gonna kill him."
{ Fade. }
"I half expected what I got."
{ Black background, Rob's face, you know the drill by now. He shrugs. }
"I half expected Falcon to sit there and actually try and turn every little twisted thing he's ever done into some perverse form of respect. I half expected him to tell me how he really cared about me and only wanted me to succeed. How his little jabs at my attempted suicide during our last match was just his way of sticking it to me over Zelda. I half expected him to gloss over his numerous death threats since I walked away from him and his Forgotten and..."
"I half expected to care too."
"But then you did it. You walked exactly the road I thought you were going to walk, taking every turn, every corner, every single step I thought you would take and I'm left here wondering..."
"Where's your passion?"
"Where's your heart?"
"Where's the Falcon who takes **** from no body? Where's the Falcon who moved half way across the country just to **** with somebody? Where's the Falcon who black mailed Angel and damn near crippled Steve Awesome? Where's the Falcon with a set of balls between his legs because right now I'm stuck facing off with the dickless vagina bird from Chicago with nothing better to do but dream about the days when he used to stick it to my girlfriend."
{ Frowny face. }
"And that makes me sad."
"Because I thought I was facing the baddest mother trucker on the planet. I thought I was facing a guy who defended the world title with the same ruthless veracity with which I have been chasing said belt. I thought I was facing one of the greatest wrestlers of our day and here I am stuck with what's left of that Falcon. The pieces nCw managed to glue together after Zelda was done ripping your heart out. I guess I should be happy, I mean it's like you said, I've gotta a go through you..."
"And there ain't much left."
{ You wait for that grin, for that cock sure smile to creep across his face, but it doesn't. Just a cold steely glare as he talks. }
"It's funny really, the way you think. How I have to go through you and how it damn well could go either way, couldn't it? But tell me Kyle..."
"Do you really believe that?"
"Because you and I both know differently, in fact you've known from the very moment Zelda revealed her big plan to the world and you that your world title win was all just a set up to get me a shot, you knew that tt wasn't just a matter of chance or skill or even a flip of a coin. We chose you for this very reason. We hand picked you to be the man I had to face. And that's why I don't believe it could go either way Kyle, because you didn't chose to be here, we forced you to be. We put you in this position. We gave you that title and as sure as we gave it to you..."
"I'll take it away."
And sure, I could of challenged Velez or Jones had they won... But I didn't want to... Because..."
It had to be you.
"It always had to be you. I could of beaten any world champion, past or present, but I didn't want any world champion, I wanted you Kyle. I wanted the damn near unstoppable master of the roll up, the flying phenom, the immortal hall of famer himself. I wanted THE Falcon across the ring from me with the world title in between us because I want my world title to mean something. So I get it Falcon, trust me I get it. To get what I want I have to beat someone most men fear. But what I'm wondering is do you get it? Do you understand? Have you been paying attention? Because Kyle, as hard as you try to paint me as one of you..."
"I'm unlike anyone you have ever seen."
{ His eyes spark with intensity as he continues. }
"Do you really, truly comprehend what I'm capable of? I know you like to think Chris is this big bad monster and Angel is this unrelenting fighter but honestly Kyle, I'm the one you really fear, aren't I? Chris only says he's gonna hurt you, Angel only says he's gonna bury you... Me?"
"I'll actually do it."
"And not because I throw on some stupid mask or ridiculous face paint and pretend to be the devil all the while using my gimmick as a means to vent about my daddy issues. I do it because I will not let anyone or anything stand in my way. I do it because people like you tell me I shouldn't. People like you sit on their moral high horse and try to tell me the right and the wrong way to do things in the world. People like you think there's only one way to get anything done, your way. But here's the thing you don't understand Kyle. Here's the little tidbit of advice no one ever gave you..."
"There's more than one way to the top."
"And maybe you can get there by blowing smoke up people's ass and pretending every thing's fine and dandy as you pop pain killers like their tic tacs. Maybe. But I've seen where your road leads Kyle, the bitter, dark places it brings you. I watched as you slowly but surely turned into exactly the kind of person you used to hate. You thought Charlie Velez was bad?"
"How many women did he hit again?"
{ The condescending smirk finally breaks through as Rob waits for the answer he knows is not coming. }
"And don't tell me she's a wrestler Kyle, it wasn't a match, you weren't her opponent and besides all that you were supposed to love her, protect her. So don't tell me you were just trying to point me in the right direction with one side of your mouth while you told me to kill myself right with the other side. Don't tell me you were just looking out for her. Don't tell me how bad Charlie Velez was for nCw because from where I sit your the only one who feels bad for what he's done."
"So **** you."
"I've listened to what you have to say long enough Kyle, and you know what? It's all a bunch of bull****. It's lies you make up so you can sleep at night. You tell yourself whatever you need to hear and continue living your life but tell me something Kyle, are you happy with your career? Do you fall asleep soundly at night with all you've done? Can you say you've truly accomplished anything? When you dream at night is it about your world title and the fans cheering you on or do you still see her tear filled face while she screams 'why?"
"Lie to me Kyle, go ahead, I'll see right through it. We've all done some horrible things and we're all going to pay for them in our own way, but at the end of the day Kyle, I can live with my demons because the things I've done, the people I've hurt, I did to put myself ahead, I did within the confines of a match with the understanding that anything goes. The things you've done? The people you've hurt? You did for no one but yourself."
"And they call me selfish?"
"Do yourself a favor and ask the man in the mirror who the real villain in all this is Kyle, it sure as hell ain't the guy who stood up for Zelda's honor, now is it? At the end of the day all you have left besides that supposedly meaningless world title is a hand full of empty threats and broken promises. That's why I don't have to go through you Kyle. I don't have to beat you Kyle. I don't even have to overcome you Kyle..."
"You have to stop me."
{ And finally the moment you have all been waiting for, the smirk! }
"But you won't. You can't. Not this time."
*KNOCK-KNOCK*
"Hold up."
{ Rob walked off to the right and past the black curtain he had been standing in front of in his living room. The camera followed him as he reached out for the knob on his front door. His hand gripped the knob and just barely turned it when the door flung open and... }
"YOU SON OF A BITCH! HOW DARE YOU IMPREGNATE MY DAUGHTER WITH YOUR SEED!"
{ Gib flew through the door, both hands around the neck of Rob before he even had a chance to say "hi" and with a thunderous slam, Rob was against the wall. }
"...How... It... Going...."
"GIVE ME ONE REASON NOT TO KILL YOU!?"
"...Zelda..."
{ The red in Gib's face fades as he sighs and lets Rob go. }
"Good reason..."
{ Rob rubs his neck as he tries to regain his ability to breath. }
"I... Thought... You'd... like it..."
{ And then Gib punches him right in the stomach. }
"That's for not putting a hat on it like I told you!"
{ Gib grabs the now struggling to stand Rob and leads him over to the couch in the living room. He sits Rob down and takes the seat next to him, wrapping his arm around Rob's back as he begins to rub Rob's shoulder pretty aggressively. }
"Tell me, do you even have a plan? Huh? Do you even know where your going to live? What your going to name it? Hell, when your getting married?"
{ Shock over takes the face of Rob. }
"Married???"
"Yeah, married. If she's prego, your getting married kid. No ifs or buts about it."
"But-"
"I said no buts. It's happening. Face it son, life as you know it is over. The care free Rob Diamond is gone, welcome to the world of dirty diapers, no sleep, no sex, no beer..."
{ Rob pulls away and grabs Gib by both cheeks. }
"WHAT IS THIS HELL YOU SPEAK OF!?"
"It's called parenthood, aka, your future..."
{ Reality sank in as Rob sat back in his seat. Literal terror began to take hold as panic began to rush through every inch of his body. The front door opened, Gib stood up and Rob... Well he just sort of checked out. }
"Hi daddy."
"Zelda... I-"
"You heard? I figured as much. Before you even say anything, I don't even know if I am yet so... I got a test... I guess we'll all find out together."
{ Rob just sat there as Zelda and Gib moved behind him like shadows in a mist. }
"I might be somebodies daddy?"
{ Fade. }
You believe in me?
That's nice Kyle. ..
I'm glad you believe in me. ..
I'm glad you were there when I tried to kill myself. ..
I'm glad you were there cheering me on when I made my come back...
I'm glad your going to be there when I become the World Champion...
I've spent my whole life proving people wrong...
Surpassing their expectations...
Shattering their beliefs...
And here I am on the verge of becoming everything I've ever wanted to be...
And all I have to do...
Is beat you one more time...
You think you've suffered for me?
Suffered so I could succeed?
Funny thing is Kyle...
I can make it a whole lot worse...
I took Serenity out of jealousy...
Zelda out of compassion...
And the world title...
Because it's all you have left.
You haven't begun to suffer Kyle...
Lament away, because it's my time now.
Suck it.
