OPENING
Another exciting week of NCW action is in the books, and that of course means it's time for another exciting edition of my weekly column, the Knitelife. Thanks everybody for coming to the site this week and checking this out, and I got to say if you missed Collision you missed a good one. There was a ton of action and a whole lot stories to take note of.
There has only been on thing that has been bothering me over the past few weeks... and that's Xander and Rob have a world title match coming up, and all we've seen from both men is awkward staring and dumbfounded looks. I Want to see this pick up before A Night to Remember. I appreciate the whole respect thing, and the whole not trying to piss your girlfriend's brother off, and all that jazz, but come on people, you two are facing off for the World title... get a little rough with one another.
Now lets take a look at last week's poll shall we? It looks like The Green Ranger and She Hulk were the winners of the poll. Great choices... NOT! God I hate She-Hulk, but it would have been funny to see Trent with fake green boobs, but he picked neither so it didn't matter. He went with Thor... damn Trent and always going with the flavor of the week choices.
Now this week's poll will be in a different direction, at A Night to Remember.. we want to make this huge... so we're going to go out here and let you fans decide on a match that you want to see on the show. You pick a match type, and we'll see about putting it on the show... so pick one that you want!
RECAP AND REVIEW
I'm still in complete and utter shock over what happened between Trent Helms and Steve Awesome this past week on Collision... they fought all over the city... even fighting in a McDonalds! Then on Collision they took things too far.. they've let this feud between them get the better of them and now they are both paying for it inside a hospital and aren't even able to be on Collision this week. You two need to put your differences aside before one of you end up dead, you hear me? I never want to see something like that again.
Other than that... I thought both shows were very exciting, Trauma saw Magically Delicious and Mimic destroying the Internationals, I don't know what's going on there, but things are certainly taking an interesting turn, could be a blood bath in the works here, then of course saw Allyson Gardner again pull a fast one on her brother, this feud between brother and sister, is starting to really heat up... Chris seems to be doing all he can to ring in his sister, but she seems content on playing the part of the “bad girl”... hanging out with EMF certainly won't help that attitude at all.. if I were Chris, I would try to get to them first, but I doubt anything helps.
Then Collision... Zelda Knite continues her winning streak that dates back all the way to last year in a match that saw her and Rob teaming together for the first time as a tag team, it was a great match, if not for what happened during it between Trent and Steve, but it was nice seeing Roxxxie step up like that and almost winning. Falcon and Todd Williams put up a great showing against Verona and Daye, Falcon is getting a little edgy it seems, every since this whole Rob and Zelda thing got put behind him... Falcon has seemed like a revived man, he could work his way right back into the World title picture at this rate. Then another highlight had to be Crystal Hilton taking on the Women's champion one on one and pervailing. EMF has been UNSTOPPABLE since they formed and the Starlets division (yeah yeah I know I shouldn't use their weirdo name for it) has been put on notice... you're with them... or against them.
//BEST MATCH//
A lot of great matches to pick from, but I have to go with Falcon and Williams teaming against Daye and Verona. Like I said above, seeing Falcon with that kind of focus and drive is great, almost like watching a new man. Daye and Verona put up a hell of fight, but walked out with the loss regardless, it was interesting from many perspectives and maybe if Trent would have been able to wrestle in the main event the whole way it would have won this, but sadly that's not how it went down.
//WORST MATCH//
Not so much because of how it turned out, but just because it was so pathetic watching Hexx, Mimic, and Happy get so systematically destroyed by the Internationals and Ricky Johnson. They are fine wrestlers, but watching them smack around Magically Delicious isn't that entertaining anymore, it's pretty much expected.
//HIGH POINTS//
I guess everybody is going to call bias on this, but whatever... seeing Zelda's winning streak continue was a great sight, go ahead say what you want about her, but she's been huge for this womens division, her rise to fame has brought in a ton of talent that wouldn't have been here otherwise.
Then it was great seeing Falcon win how he did with Todd Williams at his side. These two wrestlers know how to do things the right way. They're total nerds, but they're great wrestlers, and finally it was fantastic to see Trish Newborn being humbled again!
//LOW POINTS//
It's getting pretty old seeing EverySense and the Young Guns trying to act the part of the bully. Nobody is falling for it... you're just coming out and attacking people, big whoop guys.
Seeing Trent and Steve almost kill each other was clearly horrible, just horrible. Trent is one of me and Adam's best friends in the world and no matter how much I bag on Awesome now, there was a time that I really cared about him and he was a great friend as well... seeing them like that was a terrible experience.
THE FAB FIVE
5. DDK :: He's been on a roll lately, most recently taking on Andrew Jacobsen and coming away with a victory, the former champion is climbing back up there week after week, might want to watch out... you could be “bang”ed next.
4. ZELDA KNITE :: Kept the winning streak a live, Roxxxie put up one hell of a fight against all the odds, but in the end, Zelda was just too much... which tends to happen a lot around here it seems.
3. LEX SENSE :: Well that was one brutal match, Mark Evil and Lex Sense sure know how to get the crowd going in those Xtreme matches. Top notch job here and a great victory for Sense.
2. FALCON :: I think I've been oozing the praises of Falcon enough for one night. I'll just say it was a great victory for the man.
1. CRYSTAL HILTON :: Well like Ashlie Ember before her, she picked up a huge victory over a world champion. Impressive, especially considering she came up short the last time she faced off against Newborn. It was a fantastic job to avenge that loss.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK'S RECORD:: 10-1 :: OHHHHHHH Do you see that!? Only got one wrong there, stupid Freakke losing to freaking awesome Alex Jones... oh well.. can't win them all.. or can you?

WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON
TRISH NEWBORN vs. ROSA DE ORO :: Rosa is 0-2 since she debuted in NCW and Newborn has lost her last two matches. This is going to be interesting to see if the World Champion and flip her fortunes around... maybe Bad Luck Chuck cursed the wrong Young Gun?
CHRIS GARDNER :: If I'm not mistaken Xander was Gardner's first loss in NCW, should be interesting to see how Gardner takes this match. Will he be looking to avenge that loss or is he going to take it just like every other match, who knows. Should be interesting to see.
SIX WOMAN TAG MATCH :: We got Crystal teaming with her EMF lackey Gardner, we got Mercedes Skank-house Lewis and Roxxxie on opposite sides of the ring. We have six of NCW's top women wrestlers in the main event of Trauma, should be very exciting to see.
ALEX JONES :: Jones has had a few missteps in recent weeks, but last week he looked to get things back on the right track with a win over Freakke. This week though he runs into Spike Kane who has been on a tear lately. These two have a long history together, it's going to be the match of the night I think.
KNITELINE
This week for the Kniteline I have a special interview transcript, with a former NCW World Champion, and the man who was recently retired by Chris Gardner, that's right, Brad Kane joins me here for a special Interview now that he has moved on from the NCW wrestling ring.
First things first, it's a pleasure to have you here Brad, you were part of the first every NCW main event, and not having you around makes the place feel different, you were instrumental in starting up NCW's X-Division and you're one of the most well known names in the business, how did it feel being forced out of the company by Chris Gardner and not by your own choice?
BK: "I'll be honest, wasn't too happy about it but a stipulation is just that. Though I didn't feel the need to come back the next night and demand a whole bunch of love from doing so. Though this interview seems a little bit just like that. But the guy has a ton of talent and I don't regret doing what I did."
Sounds like you have a bit of respect for Chris Gardner there, did he earn it by beating you, or was it always there? If so, maybe you could describe what this the whole ordeal between you was over?
BK: "Well it was just mostly me getting frustrated of getting passed over as something valuable to this promotion. Christian was just that guy. I've always had the utmost respect for the guy but it was just wrong place at the wrong time. No one ever really hyped me up or anything of that sort. I had to create my own negative press by being a complete jackass so I just figured I might as well embrace that role and that's why I came up with the Pariah and like I said, Gardner was just there first. It could've been anyone. Hell for a while I thought about going after Adam."
You know, I think a lot of people would have liked to have seen that match, Knite versus Kane, would have made for some great matches I think. Of course though that brings me to another question, are you glad it was somebody like Gardner who put you out of NCW, are you in a weird way kind of glad it was a young star like him who did it, somebody taking that next step, or would you have preferred it to be say somebody like Adam, an established star who put Brad Kane out of wrestling?
BK: "I prefer having that new guy do it. An Adam Knite, Steve Awesome or whoever else has done it in the past didn't really need to do this. It's a huge feather in a cap that still has plenty of room. Those guys have full hats so it wouldn't have meant as much to them. And yes, shame I never really got anything solid against Adam but I blame that on myself."
I figured that's what you would say, I always like seeing the older stars passing the torch, Adma's spoken of doing the same some day and it was a shame that you two never got the chance to really go at it.
Well Brad... I guess the next question on everybody's mind is... I'm sorry, but Megan. I wouldn't consider myself a reporter if I didn't try to get some tough answers. The rift between you and your wife was out there in everybody's face as you pursued a relationship with Ally Gardner during this whole ordeal... have you and Megan spoken since all of this? Are you trying to work things out? What about your kids? Feel free to not go too deep but I have to ask it for the fans who might be wondering. You two seemed inseparable before all of this.
BK: "We're working things out. It's been rough but I've been with her since I was thirteen and I suppose you could call it a midlife crisis. I regret what I put her through because it wasn't right. It wasn't right to put my kids through that either. When I got home, my oldest punched me in the jaw. Left a bruise for a few days actually. But I think we're back on the right track to get everything to normal again. Couples consoling is working well."
That's great news Brad, I hope everything goes well for you and that you're able to move past this as a couple, I don't think it'd be right to see Megan without Brad or Brad without Megan, you two have pretty much become synonymous with each other.
Now, lets talk wrestling shall we? Tell me, now that you're time in NCW is up, what is the one thing that you wished you could have done before you head to leave? We saw you win the world title, but was that the only thing you wanted to accomplish before your time was done?
BK: "Never winning at A Night To Remember. That's something I've never been able to do here. Done about everything else here except win on that show. I think something like myself against Adam or against even my brother would've sold like a mother and then some. That's about it. I've done so much in my career that most things seem so silly to do now."
I guess I never realized that you hadn't won at the big show, but I figured you were going to say beat Sexy Jason -giggles- Sorry I'm just playing with you a bit. Maybe one day you could have a one night only return? Hey... a girl can hope right? So, is there anything that you regret from your days in NCW? An event, an action, how something went down? Anything at all that you could do over again and change the outcome?
BK: "A one night return wouldn't be a horrible idea. Just all depends on the situation and all of that junk. But as far as regrets probably the most recent one because there's so many of them was getting fired for being a complete tool. I'll admit it, I wasn't acting too smartly but when do I when it comes to this promotion? I would've liked to do some things in a bit more of a classy matter. As it stands it never happened that way. Though I wish I could change the backstage feelings of me sometimes. I get judged unfairly sometimes but whatever."
Yeah, It's always a shame when people can't let go of the past and just move on, always felt bad for you over those things, You made your mistakes and it was clear you were trying to move beyond them, but people kept bringing you back down. I wish things would have worked out better.
So now It's time for some quick questions and answers, if that's ok. What wrestler do you see in NCW right now that you would have liked to have had a chance to work with before you retired. I know you mentioned Adam above, but is that it?
BK: "Well that's a tough question but I think it would've been fun to get something going with Rob Diamond for the long term. With his natural asshole charisma and my usual defend my family's honor at all cost, it would've been something great."
Would be interesting match indeed, especially after all he said about your sister Freya recently... but I won't dive into that subject, I know how touchy that can be. Who on the NCW roster that you came across during your time here do you think is due for a break out soon? Any youngsters in the back catch your attention while here?
BK: "I've been thinking Andrew Jacobsen for the past year but nothing has really come from it so I really don't think it'll be him. I think that Lex Sense might have something to him. Paul Star is another that might get it done. And that black guy people go nuts for. Todd something or other, seeing as how I boned his sister when I was away from Megan."
On a scale from 1-10 how would you rank your entire career in NCW? You did a lot for this company, the first Main Eventer of two different shows, the first X-Division champion, a former World champion... how do well do you think you did here?
BK: "I think I'd have to go with a 6. I left a lot on the table. Some by my doing and some not."
Same scale, 1-10, how would you rank NCW in general your entire time here? Anything that you could see that could be improved on for future stars?
BK: "I'd give it an 8. There are some things that could be improved here or there but this isn't the place for it honestly. The vets just need to give them the right kind of guidance to succeed. You need these young kids to replace us old farts."
Alright Brad, it's that time, the question I ask everybody... it's NCW's version of the Mary Ann or Ginger debate... Kelly or Zelda? You have to pick one.
BK: "I think you. Probably know your way around the man pole a bit better. Zelda's just too young to really know how to conduct herself in this business. Plus she always turned me down so..."
-laughs- Thanks Brad.. I'd just like to point out that... still nobody has picked Zelda, that really boosts my ego... even though you said it in kind of a jerky way... “know my way around”.. hmph... anyway, it was a pleasure talking to you... but before I let you go, this is the part where I give the interviewee a chance to say anything they want... this could be the final time you speak to an NCW audience... is there anything you want to see before I say good night?
BK: "Well I suppose I'll end it the only way I know how. I'm Brad Kane. I love sex. I have a big penis. Peace"
Thanks Brad for your time and I'm going to speak for everybody, and I know I've ragged on you my fair bit, but it's sad to see you gone and I wish you the best in everything you do... you're going to be missed. From NCW... it's been a pleasure.
BK: "I can say the same, somewhat. Keep it real."
You too brad... thanks again.. peace.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
:: It really is sad to walk the halls and not see Brad or one of his 21 children running around.
:: I'm still in shock over Trent and Steve... sorry if I seem a bit off tonight.
:: Word on the street is that Emma Danielson might be returning to NCW action soon, make sure to get your tolls ready.
:: I'm flattered that Lex has this crush on me or whatever, but man I wish he'd quit sending me chocolates.
:: I hope they are chocolates...
:: Zelda has taken the week off, her shoulder is apparently acting up on her again... should have gotten that damn thing fixed instead of wrestling.
:: Another rumor floating around is that a former NCW wrestler could be returning at A Night to Remember... not saying anything else.
Well fans, that's all I have for you this week, I hope you enjoyed it... until next time!
